Red_Dragon -> Just a general question (11/9/2022 23:23:41)

Sorry if the answer is somewhere on the links or elsewhere on the forums (I'm back after taking a break for a week or so)

But I recently got the water orb (my 8th and final orb in book 1) and now done with the orb saga. But for some reason, after getting all the orbs, it doesn't let me go onto book 2, what's the requirement for me to move into book 2? Do I need to continue onto more quests from book 1? (I'm getting bored already with places on Lore in book 1 and would like to proceed further onto the game).

I'm a DA member lvl 39 by the way. Also what's the best overall light & dark weapons for DA member in the high 30's/low 40s?

Eight orbs ain't the whole picture, but nine. If you haven't cleared the Bacon storyline provided by Valencia (for efficiencies' sake, use the Timeline tool found in in the Book of Lore to rapidly access her instead of wasting time with Travel Map. Books 1 and 3 have said feature, and both help in routing you to the right location for relevant storylines), that's a good start. Since I already mentioned the Timeline, it should also guide you to play the Final 13th Book 1 finale. Upon completion, only then will you be cleared to rip through Book 2.

As per Light/Darkness best-in-slot (BiS) weapons... well, anything referring to best hardware for your hero, weapon or otherwise, usually refers to being pragmatic that you must cast aside any religious compliance to a linear progression towards the storyline. In layman's terms, you're better off actually doing a bit of something in Book 3 to get up to date and top of the line gear. In terms of Light weaponry, the best you can get without having to do the nightmare that is the Inn/Arena at the Edge of Time is the Ultra Omniknight Blade. Book 3 only, but very easy to maintain updated in your arsenal.

For the Darkness side, the Deathknight Blade (Unhallowed series for DAs) found in the Deathknight trainer (which is in Book 1) is reasonable. The only catch is that unlike other craft items, you always have to start from scratch to make the Deathknight Blade most appropriate for your level. But compared to the late bloomers that are the Doom Weapons (unlike Destiny Weapons, Doom Weapons take a while to update due to their demanding resource counts. It doesn't help that their strongest iterations require something from some of the toughest fights the game offers), it's more feasible.

So how do I get to valencia? Is it the same place as the original place in falconreach?

Laeon val Observis -> RE: Just a general question (11/11/2022 0:32:50)

If you're referring to how to get to her the walking way from Falconreach's main room (go right till you map change and encounter a purple-haired NPC), yes. But frankly, despite whatever adventurous tendencies you may have, is inefficient. Hence why I said to use the Timeline tool in the Book of Lore. If the jargons are still running over your head, the Book of Lore, also known as the Quest Log when attempting to access mid-quest, is the book in the main interface in the same general location as your inventory and DA interface. The very book that displays when you start your access to your character. The general rule is to use its Timeline feature for main story access so as to save precious time walking or teleporting to the appropriate Travel Map.
