Please refer to the very first post in the thread for the actual, thoroughly explained, purpose of it and rules for posting in it. It is not a thread for making requests for exceptions to balance.

I'm going to refrain from the balance discussion part since this isn't the thread for it.

What I will say is that it's no longer a "clone" if you're going to change the mechanics of the item. It will be a new item altogether. So might as well call it an item update thread rather than a clone thread? And if you're gonna come up with entirely new mechanics then why not just make a new item instead of overwriting an old one? There will also be more item variety that way.

Because the purpose of the thread has been explicitly, extensively, and repeatedly explained, and it is not an item update thread. Once again, please refer to the original post. It's neither a thread for asking for items to update, nor a thread for asking for items on old standards to be cloned and kept in old standards. The point I made was precisely asking for mechanical clones of items that are too old to clone would result in having to create a new one. Given that the point of this thread (If one reads the small second paragraph in the first post) is to lighten the workload of Ianthe and Kamui for quest rewards for a while, that would mean that suggestions that would require a whole new item to be created aren't likely to be picked for this purpose.

To give a +1 to some items:

Pixel Ether
Plush Mort
Manasplosion
Shiny Boy
Moglin Sword
Carrot Lance
Mythical Warrior
Radiant Aegis
Peace Zard

And two that I personally wouldn't use without power their clones' effect power being reduced to gain full-battle duration:

Celestial Phoenix Feather, infinite duration 10% power
Belmiah's Splendor, infinite duration 33% power

Thank you for the feedback, folks. This thread has been very useful, and I've already used a number of these suggestions in upcoming quests. However, as the amount of posts that ignored the rules was rather high, I'll be locking this for now. The information processed from this thread will still have a privileged place in my notes for a long time to come, and you'll notice I'm not the only staff member who keeps an eye here.

Rest assured, I'll open a round two later on! To make things more understandable for users and convenient to organize for myself, it'll be a tighter setup with clearer rules and a posting format. I'll also be opening a separate thread for unused or otherwise orphaned art assets that could be used in new rewards, to give an outlet to some of the suggestions that were out of place here but still showed enthusiasm for bygone art.
