AQDeathKnight -> Returning Full Offensive Build (1/22/2023 20:12:21)

Character ID:33819846
Level: 150
Stats:
DEX - 250
INT - 250
LUK - 250
Objective: Optimize Build with meta items oriented towards burst (SP Skills + Spells) and element-locked gear (Chaos Orb)
Additional info: Purchasing up to $50 of Z-tokens for my beginner warrior character's Estate. Special Offer items that can be utilized by both Warrior + Battle Mage would be ideal, unless there's a Mage exclusive item that is amazing. Though from the list, the new updated weapons that turn into armors seem good (I have Horn of Tera'Suul already).

You no longer need Dex for the accuracy of your magic attacks/spells.

Do you intend to shift the stats into Cha? End? Or invest into Str and go full werepyre?

AQDeathKnight -> RE: Returning Full Offensive Build (1/24/2023 12:50:06)

That's good to know! I'll switch them to CHA and go FO focused BeastMage.

Primate Murder -> RE: Returning Full Offensive Build (1/25/2023 0:08:17)

Overall, I find that you already have a pretty strong character. There are a few areas that could be further optimized, though:

First of all, I would suggest switching from Werepyre to Vampire, as the former uses Str+Int for many of its skills.

Necromancer is the best class for beastmasters and mages alike; I highly recommend leveling it up and making it your class title.

Weapons

Earth would be a good no-drop element.

Arcane Cutlasses of Gales and Storms would provide a 30% damage boost to Haunted DL and Dynomancer Bloodmage armor skills.

Retro Golden Axe recovers not insignificant amounts of sp/mp whenever you cast a light spell.

Voidsplinter Sunderer in your Vault has Harm toggle.

Armors

In terms of raw numbers, Haunted Dragonlord Armor skill has higher damage and accuracy than Griffinrider.

You already have an ice armor on Tera'Suul and lack a good earth nuke. Geomancer Bloodmage would be perfect if you have a spare UR. Otherwise, Eternal Champion's Spirit has an earth SPell and is slated to get Spellcaster Lean toggle.

Both skills of H-Series are locked to either Ranged or Melee, making it more or less useless for mages. The Initiative Boost could come in handy, but you could achieve the same thing by buying Lucretia's Ambush potion. Dynamancer Bloodmage would be the best choice here, followed by Taladosian if you don't have another UR. (p.s. if you're getting taladosian, cutlass of storms would be useless; get mystic caissa for Harm and Blackbones for necro spell boosting).

Necromancer has Spellcaster lean, Int toggle, and a high-damage darkness nuke. Also, qc mana regen, a skill to cure status effects, spells to recover mp/hp based on damage dealt, a strong fear infliction, harm nuke against mobs with Freedom, status nuke, passive barriers, passive potency and resistance, more guests than any other armor in the game, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Shields

Defender of Frostval Past gives a free, qc DefBoost, just in case you're facing a monster nuke. It's generally more useful than Freeze Immunity.

Scarab Shell has a toggle to lower monster MRM by 6 (no save), which can occasionally come in handy.

TropoShield is by far the most offensive shield we currently have. It attempts to inflict EleVuln whenever you attack with fire, earth, or energy, giving you over 40% extra damage!

Spells

You no longer need Moonwalker's Grace. Archmage Research would fit in its place to give you a Harm nuke.

Invincible Star can make you all but invincible for a round. Against monsters immune to Form Shift and stuns, it can give you a chance to use elecomped armor nukes - so it's a higher priority than Imanok Edoc.

Dread Fiend and Cocytus Fiend of Nulgath toggle for a powerful Backlash effect. Particularly useful for farming or when you expect to take high damage.

Pets

Fairy Godmother can heal hp/mp.

Spotter Drake gives Status Potency.

Bun-Banneret gives DefBoost, in case you expect to face a nuke.

Miscs

Helm of Frostval Past gives qc bth boost.

Optico gives +10 Status Potency and can gibe your pet +50% LS rate - rather handy when your Godmother is healing mp.

Queen's Crown summons a guest with no hit check and a high chance of stunning the monster (based on water resists).

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely these into my character. I did have a few questions regarding your recommendations:

I have the Grenwog Rider, which could be used as a replacement for the Geomancer. I have 3 UR between the three accounts I have and am leaning towards using them for my BeastMage (Bards and potentially blade of elders).

Regarding Griffin rider versus HDA- if this is the case. Does my Griffin Rider translate across a Warrior Build? I'd like to think the same would apply for my Terror Armor/Weapon and White Knight Z?

I take from your recommendations for Guests & Pets that Paella isn't as viable? If so I may just steal Creature 72 and get Fae to upkeep my spells/Skills.

Also, regarding Z-Tokens/Packages, which items are the most effective with this Burst Beast Mage build? I planned on purchasing enough Z-Tokens to purchase an Estate for my Warrior.

As mentioned, HDA is more powerful and more accurate - but Griffin Rider costs no sp, so it may be worth it for a warrior.

Terror Raiment is kind of ok? I'd generally suggest Angel of Souls due to an easily-spammable skill, but it's all a matter of preference.

Terror weapon is actually an almost forgotten, but pretty badass piece of equipment. It won't work against bosses (most of whom have Freedom), but against regular mobs it has great synergy with Werwolf's qc Snarl and Bloodzerker toggles.

For a warrior, White Knight Z is effectively overshadowed by Paladin. The latter has nukes that are nearly as potent, but also incredible versatility and unmatched utility against Undead.

Poelala? It's still the single best pet/guest for a mage build.

Aside from the ones I already mentioned in your BM thread?

20k tokens: elemental booster moglins, a few weapons with compressed armors like Airenal's Lance (wind/earth compression with wind skills), Frigid Devouring Scythe (skill to inflict The Cold and skill to eat it for high damage), Tsunami- and Gale-Strike Dragon Blades (skills that deal % damage of monster's hp).

50k tokens: Doomlight Set has the best backlash armor/shield we've got, Umbralwalker can inflict perma-Fragile.

AQDeathKnight -> RE: Returning Full Offensive Build (1/28/2023 19:22:26)

Thanks for the advice, I'll try using those armors on my warrior!

I did have a question about the and old strategy I used to farm up to gold back in the day. Using Dracomorgrify, seems like a strategy that isn't used as often. Especially with armors like Frozen Dragonslayer where I've nuked monsters for 6K Void Damage. I'm surprised a setup like this versus low resistance monsters/bosses. Especially when you can utilize other items that do void/increased damage against pure dragons. Just a thought, I'm going to use this with my Beast Mage to take advantage of the SP/Mana region from Fae+72. Are there any available items that deal Void/increased damage to Dragons besides the Dragon Blade quest? Dragonslayer Twilly might work too...

Regarding packages, I couldn't find a lot of info on the 10th Anniversary Dragon weapons with clickable armors. The Cold seems really good and kinda helps fill the void since I don't feel like Tera Suul's Champion doesn't have the nuke-burst I'm looking fore. Might try Void Vindicator. My question is how does Cold play into Boss' freedom? I'm curious how this Freedom stat works because it definitely makes Boss fights trickier than my average set-up.

Twisted Frozen Dragonslayer from UR GGB has a skill that deals Void damage against dragons (with elecomp bonus to damage).

And Dragonslayer Twilly is pretty good nowadays, yeah.

Bu Kek pulled all the info together in this post. Tsunami- and Galestrike are just elemental variants.

The Cold is not affected by Freedom. It is, however, affected by Boss Boost - so most bosses have between +20 and +40 to save against The Cold.

AQDeathKnight -> RE: Returning Full Offensive Build (1/29/2023 17:09:52)

Thanks for the Info! I was torn between Arms of Carnax & Devourer Scythe... but I think Devourer Scythe beats it.

Also, I couldn't open the link Bu Kek created.

Primate Murder -> RE: Returning Full Offensive Build (1/29/2023 21:39:09)

That's my bad.

Here's the link.
