Hey o/ Just some fixes I finished over the weekend:

- The Shadowstalker set FSB now only deals Void damage if the mob is both Shadow and Freedom-y. It's just a bit too powerful.
- Updated the Lord of the Skies / Akriloth's Wrath / Sinmaw Form armours
-- Reworked the "efficient" skill to be a toggle that locks your default attack to (armour element) and boosts damage. The pop-up shows how much damage you deal (131.2% / 170.2% / 136.3%), which isn't much for LotS/Sinmaw because their resistances are so good. It's still a buff for all of them.
-- The "overcharged" skill now gets eleComp to cost instead of damage, because we have concerns about stacking so many damage sources.

How so? This has to be the most over-exaggerated part of the set imo. You literally have to sacrifice 3 slots to use it IN ACTIVE COMBAT. Meaning to say chances are you won't be using it against anything that's not a shadow and not hitting with Light and Dark. That's already a whole ton of restrictions. It has 3 hits with a standard cost. Literally the only thing going for it was the Void element but it's not doing mind-blowing broken numbers with that alone. Even with boosts, I could get standard elemental stuff to hit higher.

I was happy with the original design because while niche, it was still usable against regular bosses. Now it's literally only usable against shadow monsters and to a smaller extent, Light/Dark monsters. This is a huge nerf that is completely unnecessary (numbers were balanced) considering the full set costs a minimum of 35b gold. I highly suggest you undo it.

????????? Every boss nowadays has a damage cap slapped onto it, why is stacking damage sources a problem????? I simply do not understand the reasoning.

All these changes seem to be completely arbitrary because from my understanding the numbers of these items were balanced to begin with. Meanwhile the token shield is still hot garbage and has not been touched? I think you have your priorities completely wrong.

Not that I am impacted but such changes if they have been balanced before and now with these implemented, sounds like it's purely due to limited design space issue. Just my opinion.

I agree, a horrible decision to nerf these donation items so badly and soon after-the-fact. The use of which was rather situational as it was prior to this huge nerf. Plus, like Korri stated, you would have to carry 3 slots in active combat and still limited on being only useful against shadow monsters hitting light/dark. So restricted before and now made worse. Also, add in the soft-damage cap of most Bosses these days, lol. @Ianthe, can we revisit this decision and come up with a better solution rather than limiting the void damage aspect in this manner? Basically, stripping the donation winners of the FSB effect that was just made for the top 50 isn't the right approach, imo.

Hope this wasn't motivated by all those who didn't get the top 50 Gold prize and so complaints were made about it to make a penalty for those who did. [8|]

Also, how many Shadow Bosses actually even have Freedom in this game? [8D]

The changes to the "Overcharged" armor skills for Akriloth/Airenal/Sinmaw is actually quite bad. Most bosses have Damage caps, so stacking damage won't work. Lorekeeper's Boss designs have been good, and the vast majority of the newer Bosses actually require strategy to beat, as opposed to brute force and spamming the Attack button.

I think the changes to the Overcharged skills make the armors weaker, and less viable. The changes to the Efficient skill are good, but the Overcharged version is essentially less viable.


@The Hollow Would it be possible for the upcoming Illustrious Savior of Battleon to get a Void element skill? We still don't have an on-demand Void armor skill (not including triggers), even after 21 years! Plus, this armor is literally named after the game itself. It would be a fitting tribute.

Great news, my 20k Z-Token weapon are now going back to inventory, Korri is right here we got so many soft dmg boss nowadays, when dmg caps have solve the nuke problem then why rework an already reworked and balanced stuff? 5k or 10k dmg does it matter? Since most bosses got soft dmg this kinda nuke atk are only usable in normal monster fight, so whats the point of nerfing it?

As someone who has extensively tested the Shadowstalker set, I feel that this change has rendered the FSB effectively useless and is a terrible idea.

When you say the FSB was 'too powerful', I believe you are referring to pure damage.

1. 200% damage due to being void is indeed powerful, but this power comes at an extremely high cost.
- Firstly, it worked only on certain monsters, and the most useful case which comes to mind is Freedom bosses which often have damage caps. In such cases, pure damage is not as powerful as it seems.
- Secondly, it requires 3 active inventory slots sacrificed (Shield + Misc + Weapon) to be able to activate it in battle.
- Last and most notably, it requires the specific shield and misc of the set to be equipped during attack, which provide NO offensive support (other than +20% damage). In practice, this has effectively costed me -100 mainstat (50 from shield and 50 from misc that I usually equip), resulting in reduced damage and a -15bth loss. I was still trying to find ways to make the set worth carrying over existing harm damage options in active inventory as I kept missing when using the shadowstalker weapon skill.

Another additional restriction is that it does not work with the Bloodzerker toggle (automatically deactivates due to being Void), which is normally used to buff weapon skill damage, so that's a missing x2 damage for people who usually rely on that like myself.

Therefore, while the void damage FSB was an interesting new idea which was also powerful in the right instances, it came with heavy costs and restrictions which made it somewhat balanced in practice, and was not actually game-breaking.

2. Even if the item was too powerful, the decision to make the FSB only work on shadow AND freedom monsters, a week after release, without gathering any feedback from the top 50 gold donators, feels like a slap in the face for those who spent the time and/or money for 35 billion gold to obtain the item. How many bosses meet the criteria now; Shadow Roc'ky and Ultimon? The FSB may as well have been removed entirely. If you MUST nerf the FSB, we hope it will at least retain some worth.

You mean the worth of it having +20% damage to the attack and skill when triggered, eleseeking on shadows and shifters (darkness+harm) and still having a strict void trigger that may very well see more use in the future? Yeah I'd say it's still got some hefty worth on it. [8|]

We already have items that give the same boost (if not greater) that doesn't require a specific race trigger

Again, why carry niche items that require specific race triggers when you have general damage boosting items that do the same job without needing for a particular race? There are plenty of Harm compression weapons nowadays. Speaking of Harm skills, coincidentally, there's Void Dragon Assault in the void right now which is not only free but also only requires 1 slot as opposed to 3 and can be used against anything

Yea Void element is being grossly overrated here. People see Void element and call it OP straight away. Keep in mind that this Void trigger only works on shadows with freedom now and there's like a grand total of 1-2 mobs in the game that actually fulfil this criteria. On top of that, you would also need to sacrifice both your shield and misc slot to get the Void trigger. This is a standard 3 hit skill with a standard cost. With all of those restrictions, it's quite ridiculous to be calling it OP

With all of that in mind, I would say it's a worthless item right now

Also, can I propose that before these changes are made in the future, can there at least be some discussion with the top 50? It's done every year for the Summer donation, I don't see why it can't be done for the Winter donation. These are some very bad changes that alot of players who paid out of their nose are unhappy with. This is not a good look for the business and certainly not the way to go if you want players to continue spending on the game

Regardless of how you may feel there are incontrovertible limits that must be respected. If you can look at all the things this FSB already offers and with a straight face say the lack of "free" void invalidates the weapon and by extension the set then I have nothing else to say as it's clear there is no common ground to be had.

The few vids I've seen of it didn't show it to be too powerful. Shadow and Freedom is very rare and hardly relevant these days. Allow it for either but extra damage if both. Maybe give it the autohit rule where it deals only 80% damage if only one criteria is met.

Did you even bother reading Korri's answer to this? Seems not or do you just always tend to enjoy campaigning for items to be nerfed just about anytime anything comes out from the Staff? This FSB was a pretty unique and appreciated idea from @Lorekeeper and imo paid a hefty price already for the very niche use it had. Again, it has to give up 3 item slots, have a narrow set of monster uses to Shadows with freedom/light/dark and deal with Boss soft-damage caps to ever be considered even remotely OP.

I also think the sheer volume of niche requirements for the FSB to be a viable option are more than enough of a price paid for getting any benefit of use against a rather rare Boss mob. So no, it's not OP.

1. After seeing a vid on the damage that the void trigger was doing to everyday shadow mobs, which are actually quite frequent..even in random battle as well as clearing your attacked estates, I thought wow, "that FSB is crazy strong" It was the power of the fsb that I found the single greatest issue with the entire dono event/items, etc.


Now, IMO, FSB should be stronger than the current standard IMO. It's the only way to allow some things to compete with some of the newer stuff, including T3 classes and subraces. A FSB that's stronger would allow for better competition, even if it created more power creep. Not all FSB would warrant it, though. But for example, if an armor needed a shield and weapon to have a fsb, 5 or 10% bonus is too weak in 99% of situations to make it worth using as a FSB. It should at least be approx ~~elecomp on power in those situations, perhaps a touch less since it's not "forced".

Now, despite my position on that issue, *this* FSB was crazy IMO. It wasn't slightly OP..it was crazy OP. Until FSB as a whole gets looked at, which it never will as it would probably require going back and changing many many things, I think some sort of change was in order. This change? Not sure. Maybe the FSB can include reg shadow monsters, but not VOID, and include VOID vs shadow/freedom as a compromise...

.. In regards to a couple comments from the token shield... It's turns are too spread out. It should be 2 or 3...to make it at least decent. I personally would like to see the burn side be the SP heal version similar to Carnax armors ability... a HP and SP heal on that would make it REALLY enjoyable and worth using.


The $20 package items changes are GOOD. Free elecomp damage by ele-locking the armor is more damage and FREE. Just PCO and move on already. The overcharged skill moving damage to cost will prove to be favorable except for those players living in 2015 still trying to nuke everything.

Damage caps are a thing, yes, but if *anyone* has been *paying attention*, most damage caps have begun to move UP. So 200-400 damage caps are becoming 600-1k. So damage may need to be limited a bit compared to the past and "but damage caps" might need to be removed from the argument bucket as a viable debate bullet point.


I have loTS and Akrlioths..and both versions I wont use them. I hate weapon-> armor summons stuff, so this doesn't affect me...and I also dont own the fsb from the gold dono, so it doesn't affect me..so my emotional tie to both might help not cloud my point of view into a bit of a selfish haze. (Thats not accusing anyone, Im just making a point on where Im coming from)

Hence, for the above 2 points, I don't see how the FSB is ever a better alternative than simply a harm weapon + shield/misc of choice (that doesn't even need a trigger!).

1- The shield and misc that become omni elemental defense tailor made to fight shadows and shifters so you're in prime defensive positions regardless of elements used. I fail to see how this is a negative given the thematics of the set.
2- It's not just shadows, it's shadows and shifters.
3- Sure, the limited use cases are an undeniable fact at the moment. However, the usefulness of the FSB on the whole is not quite the dire situation that it's painted out to be. The set is made to fight certain things very well, which it does, the FSB further enhances this and adds a generous ability to deal an element that is otherwise extremely limited by design and intent. Void is not made common for a set of very good and well established reasons, that it was offered at all in an FSB that doesn't include an armor is already wild in precedent and the previous iteration of it was completely out of line. I can understand disappointment, I can't understand being so disappointed by it that you (general, not aimed at anyone in particular) cannot appreciate the whole set or the other features of the bonus in any capacity.
