Sapphire -> Charisma Weapons Change (6/7/2023 11:09:56)

It was discussed that the existence of CHA weapons were a byproduct of old standards. It led to implication that no more CHA weapons will be made going forward. I was thinking about the implications of this, and it's not fair to future players and it I think needs to be addressed differently. So after thinking about this issue, here is a proposal to "fix" CHA weapons. Step 1-> Baseline damage is *.9 and cannot exceed this. Step 2-> Change the definition of a CHA weapon by altering it's stat bonuses and BTH from 100% CHA to: Highest of Main-Stat/2+CHA/2 Step 3-> If The highest of Mainstat is either Strength or Dexterity, the weapon receives a 4/3 damage boost. Step 4-> They must always remain magic type This now means 3 major things: 1. CHA can no longer be treated as a main-stat with weapon attacks. CHA/END/LUK builds using it this way are missing half stat damage and BTH 2. Who cares if it overrides type locks, you will only gain half stat damage and BTH if you don't have a mainstat or CHA, and you get full damage with both. (need both) 3. Warriors, Rangers, and Mages can all use them provided the CHA investment, but baseline is .9 damage (use for effects realistically speaking, which generally are CHA inflict) If you discontinue the making of CHA weapons, you simply cater to "rares" in a sense and disable newcomers from potential access, while allowing older players to use them freely as now. So why not just alter them and use them to take advantage of CHA based ideas while curbing some of the psuedo main-stat usages? This will allow for continued creation of them.
