Arena at the Edge of Time: The 13th Lord of Chaos

Hey there, heroes!

With the final rune now lit up on the portal of Chaos, the 13th Lord of Chaos awaits your challenge...

A possible future from a different timeline, a party of heroes bent on spreading the influence of Chaos...

And you're their final boss.

Defeat them to earn the Parallel Chaos Amulet necklace, and unlock the Eternal kid dragon outfit!

But you'll have to fight all five of these fallen heroes at once to achieve victory. Will you be able to withstand their attacks? Outmaneuver their tricks? Or will you fall to pandemonium?

If you think you have what it takes, head over to the Arena at the Edge of Time and face the 13th Lord of Chaos!

Now that was some fight. Didn't think it'll be a party of the 4 AQW base classes and a chaotic mirror of us who we'll confront. At least, the DL version of us and not a SW or a combination thereof. Mechanics-wise, what I could determine is that whenever there's a popup appearing, something real bad will come the player's way. The non-Cleric members of the party will nuke you in some manner, whereas the Cleric will heal spam (all the more reason as to why the latter will be high on the kill first list). Another one would be the stun shrugger mechanic to help the player have a combination of a cooling off period when getting overwhelmed and alter the enemy party's rotation to better suit the player. Didn't think I'll use Fumes 3 times on the whole confrontation that I won.

As for the rewards, should've expected the Kid Dragon customization to make them look like a baby EDoT. The necklace, on the other hand, is very close to the potency of the DA DM necklace.

I was tempted to post about this design note. Unfortunately, the laptop computer I borrowed had some trouble.

As much as I would love to play through this release, I will have to wait until I get through many of the previous releases first. The idea of seeing the Lords of Chaos making it to a Dragon Fable release is too good to pass up. Hopefully when I get a new computer, I'll be able to play through it.

Well this was certainly a doozy to figure out, how long before we eventually have to fight 8v1 Inn fights?[&:]

I must admit I was wondering how the devs were going to tackle this last chaos lord fight given that it's basically the Hero of AQW and it was always going to be a question as to what sort of skills could be implemented into them to make them a feasible fight once we eventually got to this point. Admittedly, I assumed we would have just gotten a fight that had the 13th Chaos Lord class options slammed into a single boss, with some EdoT powers sprinkled in, and call it a day but this works just as well. Gives each Chaos Class variant their own turns to shine when you think about it, both in their visual and mechanical design that is to say.

Also this is a small thing but I do like that the pop up text does make five chaos variants feel like an actual party that's trying to work together to bring you down and I dare say you could even get a feel of what each one's personality is supposed to portray as they begin to fall one by one. It was a nice touch.

As for the Amulet, it's a pretty sweet deal if you haven't the time to grind defender medals and provides a bit more Avoidance and Defense into your build when compared to the Defender Necklace but obviously DN still has better overall stats when it comes to boosting your damage to where you need it.


And I guess this means we actually are going to fight either Drakath or the Queen of Monsters when the portal is unlocked on the Chaos Board, let's be honest thought it's most likely going to be Drakath.

I think it's really funny that the Parallel Chaos Amulet has 13 in almost every stat, and the fact that this stat line is actually good enough to compete with DDN 90.

Drakath. Would be cool if we also get to fight to the Queen of all monsters too.
I know everyone was against the Chaos challenges at first so we got double but i love them honestly. I don't play AQW really (i played a tiny bit yeeeears ago) so i don't get to play the chaos lords storyline so these are very new to me. They are challenging, the designs and music are also cool.
