Frostval 2023: The Knight's Star
Hey there, heroes!

This year's Frostval celebrations are upon us! But amidst the crackling fires and steaming mugs of Cocoaberry Juice, it seems oddly... quieter than usual.

The usual antics and cheer of the children is nowhere to be found. Jacek has gone missing, and you need to find him before the chill or the monsters of the north do!

The next chapter of the Frostval storybook, The Knight's Star, is here! You can access the latest quest from the Book of Lore!

Note that you will need to have completed at least Chapter 13 of the Frostval Storybook to play this year's release.

Finally, a couple of fixes.

• DeathKnight's Relic Barrier pop up on each skill use has been removed.
  
• The log now only stores up to 7500 characters, down from 75000, in an effort to reduce lag from long play sessions.
  
• Fixed an issue where Sciuridaehotep's purges were not working properly.
  
• Fixed an issue where guest HP was not updating properly.
  
• Fixed an issue with the Amadeus guest where Hold Nothing Back would not properly deactivate.
  
• Fixed an issue with the Amadeus guest where the sword glow from Hold Nothing Back would persist between battles.
  
• Fixed an issue with the Book 3 Timeline tracker where the One Step Forward tracking dot was misplaced.

Its because of Jacek that Moroz is still frozen. Of course he wouldnt hurt him, but maybe, he subconciously fear that Moroz will shelter him again. And to prevent this, he freezes him, without knowing it himself

A very mysterious kid who may have inadvertently created/caused the rather unlikely events of the last few Frostvals, but a good kid all the same.

It's starting to look like Jacek might have been responsible for Moroz remaining in his frozen state long after the defeat of Frallmar and if being a child of the Snow Prince makes him destined to be a powerful mage, and an ice one at that, then it makes sense that Jacek might unknowingly be keeping his father in stasis due to the nature of Frostvale magic. Though an interesting point another player has brought up is that it actually might be feasible that the moglin children, Tinsel and Holly, are the ones at fault for Moroz not being able to break free of his condition. After all, Jacek does want his father back and unfrozen, but the children may also subconsciously understand on some level that Jacek won't be around as much anymore and therefore might to some degree wish that doesn't happen. The result? Moroz remaining frozen.


Regardless of Jacek being the reason his father is still solid ice or not, I'd say his potential to be a very powerful mage due to the legacy of Snow Prince Star might mean he will be the one to free Moroz in the end so long as he sufficiently masters his magic. It also might mean we're getting closer to see what the background behind the Snow Prince Star actually is as well since I'm still curious as to what went down between that bloodline and Frallmar.

Interesting to think that it might be Jacek, or even the moglins kids keeping Moroz frozen subconsciously. I'd thought it might be some malicious character we haven't met yet, but as far we know Moroz doesn't have any enemies. Either way, it definitely feels like we're close to finally getting poor Moroz out of that ice.

Aside from that, it was nice to see Blizzy being so paternal towards Jacek and reassuring him that he'll always have family in Frostvale. Very cozy and wholesome vibes, as usual.
