Sapphire -> SC Lean--> Wands (5/14/2024 15:32:06)

I know wands in of itself isn't a balance issue, despite IMO the way they work or what they do I think needs an update. They are the least used weapon category in the game (besides 100 proc melee, rofl)

While I understand perceived attractiveness isn't a GBI, I am putting this idea here so that others can review it for GBI... because I don't see it as a GBI but I may be missing something.

But what if SC lean boosted wand damage up to 1x? All this does is give SC armors more weapon options since SC lean's attack damage is 1x. This increases the options for SC lean, makes wands more attractive, and doesn't actually alter any balance models, no?

Thoughts?

I don't understand what you're trying to get at.

  • Wands are 100-proc, so will already do *1 damage independent of lean... Are you trying to incorporate non 100-proc wands?
  • Do you mean 100% Melee, rather than 75%? If so, that would break the player turn formula.

    Either way, this doesn't seem like a balance issue to me.

    Yep. This is one huge nevermind. I was thinking about this late yesterday and thought to myself, wait, I'm Derpmaster Flex, this makes no sense. I was balancing watching my little boy and brainstorming a way to make wands more attractive and in the haze of the back and forth I came up with something rather ridonculous. I can only surmise that at some point my brain said SC lean attacks were 100% melee and wands were 75% melee and Sc could boost wands up to the attack damage they were already doing with non 100 proc, but um, yeah that's not the case, and this was a massive derp. Anyway, delete delete delete...

    =\
