Lorekeeper -> =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 10:45:59)

Hello everyone! To improve spellcaster lean coverage, I'd like to ask for your feedback about armors that are obviously designed with a spellcasting style, but have a neutral lean. After gathering a list, I'll be able to change them to Spellcaster Lean and submit the changes to the team for revision. Conditionally, I may note offensive lean armors as well, but only if the lean is clearly at cross-purposes for the item's design.

This is not a thread to request full item redesigns. There hasn't been time to onboard me on item design; changing leans is generally a trivial variable change. The point of this thread is to keep to that change in order to improve coverage without adding more work to Ianthe and Kamui's plates. It's essentially just an attempt to help both them and spellcasting players by tweaking what I'm able to in my free time. The only change I can implement myself is the change to Spellcaster Lean, please don't ask for other revamps.

In addition, we will not be changing Bloodmage armors into the new Spellcaster Lean. Their design is intentional, paying a different kind of risk for their output, and we do NOT want to give them a major jump in power creep. Please do not suggest them.

Please follow these rules when replying:

• Only suggest that are currently available and cover the full range of levels. No-drops are excluded, as they will need an outright revamp and such is beyond the scope of this thread.
• Don't suggest items that would lose their style if changed to a spellcaster lean. I won't take items away from one build to give them to another.
• If the item is offensive and not neutral, please make sure it's a non-premium item with a clear spellcasting aesthetic.
• Please keep suggestions to a single reply per user and use the following template for each item:

Item:
Item location:
Current Lean:

Item: Armor of Llyr
Item location: Celtic Set
Current Lean: FD

Item: Chronomancer Z
Item location: Ztoken Shop
Current Lean: Neutral
(Also needs its level tiers updated but meh)

These next ones are HUGE asks, but…
Item: Arcane Ultraguardian Robes/Insightful Armor of Awe/Cloth Robes
Item location: Guardian/Guardian/Adventurer No-Drop
Current Lean: FO/FD/Neutral

Item: Champion Holy Arcanist - FO toggle
Item location: Paladin Class
Current Lean: FO

(Will update as I think of more)

1stClassGenesis -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 12:54:44)

Item: Geocastellum Robes
Item location: Geocastellum Set
Current Lean: FD

Item: Taladosian Robes
Item location: Taladosian Set
Current Lean: FO

Not quite, but hopefully worth a consideration:

Item: Dark Invader
Item location: StarSlayer
Current Lean: FO

Item: Grenwog Rider
Item location: Golden Giftboxes
Current Lean: FO

CH4OT1C! -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 12:59:23)

Item: Lightbringer Form
Item Location: Lightbringer Shapeshift
Current Lean: MO

Item: Khandie's Gown
Item Location: Snugglefest 2019: Obsession
Current Lean: FO

Item: Chilly Form
Item location: Rare GGB
Current Lean: FD. I recognise this may be considered too risky given (i) it could be viewed as removing an option from FD and (ii) SC lean may not affect healing in future, subject to further discussion. However, it could help to boost the healing power of this Armour.

Item: Hare Raiser Magician
Item Location: Grenwog Egg Shop
Current Lean: FO

Will add more as I find them.

Mananite -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 13:39:15)

Item: Celtic Armour
Item location: Celtic MC Set
Current Lean: Fully-Defensive

Item: Lightbringer Form
Item location: Gnuvain's Abode
Current Lean: MO (was supposed to be changed to FO, but ran into issues and has been put into the proverbial backburner?)

Item: (Twisted) Cleric of Carnafex
Item location: UR GGB
Current Lean: Fully-Offensive

Item: Demonmancer Plate
Item location: UR GGB
Current Lean: Neutral

Item: Light Lord's Cleric
Item location: UR GGB
Current Lean: Neutral

Item: Chilly Form
Item location: Rare GGB
Current Lean: Fully-Defensive

Item: Knight of the Fire Orb
Item location: Frostval 2014
Current Lean: Fully-Defensive

Item: Khandie's Gown
Item location: Snugglefest 2019
Current Lean: Fully-Offensive

Item: Hare Raiser Magician
Item location: Grenwog Festival
Current Lean: Fully-Offensive

(as an aside, this thread really showcases the issues in retrofitting things to be spellcaster, given the distinct lack of modern armours that fit the mold, made worse with the implementation of non-knight armour art being tied to GGBs)

Lorekeeper -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 14:29:39)

Edited the first rule to preclude no-drops and lift the non-seasonal restriction.

• Only suggest that are currently available and cover the full range of levels. No-drops are excluded, as they will need an outright revamp and such is beyond the scope of this thread.

• Sapphire -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 15:39:38)

Item: Seraphim of Ver
Item location:UR GGB
Current Lean:FD

Based on art,

Item:Frostgal's Legacy
Item location: Frostgal MC Quest
Current Lean: Already contains a toggle and doesn't have to be made, but FO with a Neutral Toggle, which forces the armor to use a 100 proc attack. I propose this to be SC and FD instead of FO and N (FD enables 100 proc mode)

Item:Baby Sacragon Shapeshift Armor
Item location:From a shapeshift spell in Gnuvain's Abode
Current Lean: FO

Item:Lightbringer Form
Item location:Shapeshift Spell from Gnuvain's Abode
Current Lean: Mid Offensive

Item:Banshee Armor
Item location:Shapeshift Spell from Gnuvain's Abode
Current Lean:Nuetral

Item: Ebony Sepulchre Form
Item location: Z token armor shop
Current Lean:Nuetral

The Shadowmaster -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/7/2024 23:37:17)

Item: Demonmancer
Item Location: Ultra rare GGB
Current Lean: Neutral

Item: Hare Raiser Magician
Item Location: Grenwog Egg Shop
Current Lean: FO
(Add toggle maybe for FO and SC. Maybe when the egg is toggled)

Item: Spark of Serenity
Item Location: Harvest fest 2018
Current Lean: Neutral
(No light SC that is not GGB and not seasonal)

Lorekeeper -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/8/2024 11:00:11)

As a reminder, folks, this is for armors with a single lean, and I cannot implement a toggle. Please read the main post.

Item: Devilish
Item location: Warlic's Shop / Yulgar's Shop
Current Lean: FO

Item: Bland Truphma Suit
Item location: Truphma Saga: Isles of Drudgery
Current Lean: Neutral / None

Item: Offensive Test Armor
Item location: Ballyhoo Post Ad Shop
Current Lean: Offensive

Item: Osiris Armor
Item location: Osiris Set
Current Lean: FO

Item: Stiltwalker
Item location: Zorbak: Jypley's Believe it... or Rot
Current Lean: Neutral / None

Item: Hunter Armor
Item location: Robina: Hunted!
Current Lean: FO

Please let me know if any of the following three sections aren't fit for the thread. I will remove them if so. Thank you kindly for considering these updates :)
Brief rationale: None of these armors have skills of any kind except Hunter Armor. I would like to add support for Celtic Armor, Muscle Mage, Lightbringer Form, Red Pirate Costume. Devilish would be compression SC, has no real purpose as FO, and is "from" Warlic's shop. Bland Truphma Suit has no purpose and would serve as quick SC earth, unlike eternal champ, which has 3 Prereq quests. Offensive test armor has no purpose (Axemaster's Burden is accessible FO wind as well), and despite the irony in the name, would be convenient. Mostly useless if Fungi is released as written, but not if Fungi comes with defensive downsides of any sort to pay for its effects. Osiris has no purpose, and would serve as dedicated light SC. Stiltwalker has no purpose, and would serve as compression SC. Hunter Armor has a small purpose as the only FO earth energy compression armor, but compression SC would be nice, + has built in spell type skill. Extra note: Devilish, Bland Truphma, and Stiltwalker, are max level 145, 146, and 145 respectively. This is less than a 5% drop in item power compared to 150, so I view it as a non issue.

Brief statements of current niches armors other players have suggested currently have, and would lose if swapped to SC lean:
Geocastellum robes: FD basic attack hitcount, since it's 3, but a small niche to lose (would lose FD set theme though IDC about that personally). Khandie's Gown: FO Fire dark compression (tiny bit different from Devilish, although the same could be said of Devilish). Hare Raiser Magician: FO water basic attack hitcount of 3. Banshee Shapeshift: Very technically perm available dark hitcount of 3 if I'm not missing anything. Very technically as its neutral. Spark of Serenity: Unique triple compression that isn't FO.

Separately as a question, if I read the current thread rules correctly, several items should be disqualified by one of the rules "If the item is offensive and not neutral, please make sure it's a non-seasonal gold item" (Demonmancer, Muscle Mage, Dark Invader, Grenwog Rider, Khandie's Gown, Chilly Form?, Hare Raiser Magician, Cleric of Carnafex, Light Lord's Cleric, Knight of the Fire Orb?, Seraphim of Ver?, Ebony Sepulchre Form, Chronomancer Z). I don't intend to point this out to be annoying or disruptive, I mainly aim to ask if we're supposed to strictly stick to the rules on the initial post, or if it's okay to also list desired armors even if they aren't allowed by the rules, for feedback purposes / showing player interest in specific items.

Lorekeeper -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/11/2024 20:14:15)

The rules are there to be followed, and the purpose of the thread is to improve permanent coverage. However, in the case of this thread specifically, I'm willing to relax that restriction on account of the very limited amount of spellcaster aesthetic gear that doesn't predate the lean system entirely. Changed the rule to:

• If the item is offensive and not neutral, please make sure it's a non-premium item with a clear spellcasting aesthetic.

• BlitzAegis -> RE: =AQ= Spellcaster Lean Retrofitting Suggestions (10/26/2024 0:11:16)

Item: Radiant Winged Guardian
Item location: Guardian Shop
Current Lean: N

This armor if ever revisited for update, would be beneficial as purely a SC or FO armor due to the skill following wep element and type.
