Briefing looking at the game balance issue thread, I'd like to ask here

Would a raised accuracy floor influence the auto hit penalty?

Rather, what factors could potentially alter the auto hit penalty outside of the standard hit rate assumption?

The accuracy floor has no impact on the auto-hit penalty and outside of the expected hit rate changing nothing would impact it.

The accuracy floor does not change your expected hit rate.

It used to be that the autohit penalty assumed the player had no DEX (which was vital to accuracy), and was thus far more severe. These days, you only lack accuracy as a Warrior/Ranger/Mage if you haven't properly invested in STR/DEX/INT respectively, so the autohit penalty should be *0.85.

Pets take half their stat BTH bonuses from CHA, and half from Mainstat [STR/DEX/INT]. At present, that doesn't affect the autohit penalty for them though, which'd still be *0.85.

Please clarify "At present". Is that subject to change, or are there grounds to change this further?

There's possible grounds to GBI it, but as far as I know, nobody is planning to.
