CurryJames -> CHA vs LUK (1/18/2026 2:15:02)

I have a warrior character that i'm playing and I was looking into perhaps making it a Tank Beastmaster Warrior. My question is mainly if forgoing Luck for Charisma makes sense and what im losing by going 0 luck. Not to concerned about Initiative or anything like that, but will I lack a ton of damage and accuracy by going the Cha route? I'm 250 Str and 250 End cause I love the tankiness of this build, so I was just deciding between those 2 last stats and the pros and cons of going 1 or the other. Thanks

As discussed here, the main damage-related benefit you forego without LUK is the lack of lucky strikes. A lucky strike is worth up to 150% melee (i.e. 1.5x a standard melee attack's worth of damage). As they occur 10% of the time on average, you're "losing" about 15% Melee a turn.*

In contrast, CHA increases Pet damage from 20% to 40% Melee (+20%), their accuracy from 75% of expected to 100% of expected levels, as well as increasing Guest damage by 22.5% Melee (to 45% Melee), and their accuracy (same as pets). In addition, CHA lowers the SP/MP costs of Guests, meaning you can sustain them for longer/spend those resources on other damaging attacks.

You might miss the random chance of large damage hits, and you will also need items that specifically boost companion damage/accuracy to get the most out of them. However, you won't lack stat damage/accuracy by going with CHA over LUK.

*Obviously, you also lose other things: Initiative, up to +10 to status saves (i.e. statuses are harder to inflict), and "Lucky Breaks" (a mechanic that converts negative statuses affecting the player into positive ones).
