Book 2 Reimagined: Dreamscape
Hey there, heroes!

This week, we're returning to the Book 2 Reimagined project with the next quest: Dreamscape!

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/2026-01-30-DreamscapeDN.png[/image]

Alongside your Ateala allies, you've located the mysterious Professor! But the threat of Wargoth is never far behind. With Wargoth being so bold as to invade the Professor's dreams, you must enter the colliding Dreamscape with Konnan to set up defenses so the Professor's plans can come to fruition!

Speak to Yolande in Atrea to continue the Reimagined Book 2 quests!

Also this week, a new cosmetic trinket/customization catalyst is available!

The Warpfire Manifestation is a cosmetic trinket that also unlocks the Warpfire customization for Pyromancer!

You can pick it up from the DC Cosmetics shop or the Customization Catalyst shop in the Book of Lore for 600 Dragon Coins. This is also the last week to get January seasonal items before they leave for a year, so make sure to check them out!

Also, a couple of adjustments and fixes!
  • The Inn Portal house items now go to the Arena Board, rather than the Inn. Leaving the Arena Board after accessing it from the Inn Portal house item will return you home.
  • Items stored in the bank will no longer display their flavor text descriptions. This should allow for an increase of maximum storage of DA and DC items.

And that's all for this week!

This probably goes without saying but i really hope showing trinkets gets implemented soon, all these cool fashion trinkets existing feels so painful when you'd have to unequip eud/when to use them. The rest of the pyro custom is really nice though. Playing around with it for the release reminds me that i'd really like to see the healing/crit magefire states toggleable like most other class unique mechanics without having to waste a turn on a basic attack to do so, makes swapping the most unappealing thing ever.

I'd personally like to see them lean harder into the current mechanic, by having Attack inherently be stronger. Maybe make Healing Presence Attack give a burst of healing when you go into Consuming, and have Consuming Presence make Attack deal bonus damage when you go into Healing Presence, just for a bit of added complexity and flavor.

Or something along those lines. But in general, I'd like to see Pyromancer get other buffs, like reworking the INT/DEX thing because right now it is entirely useless.

I'm a little disappointed by the complete lack of friction between Konnan and the protagonist. I understand that Konnan is intentionally tempering his emotions, and this will likely come to a head in the next quest, but that doesn't mean the protagonist just has to be unfeeling furniture. It reminds me of the dynamic (or lack thereof) between Amadeus and the protagonist in Book 3, so maybe this is par for the course.
There's also no longer acknowledgement/explanation for why Konnan has armor and weapons - and not even those he had in Book 1 - in the Dreamscape, which I imagine could be a confusing detail to a new player experiencing this questline organically.

I like the new dialogue bubbles in the walkaround, and find them much more immersive than popups. They do occupy a ton of space in the frame, though, and it can be a little annoying when visual details are hidden behind them - though this might just be unique to this quest, as the backgrounds here are very intricate and don't have a lot of negative space.
