Ninjaty -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/23/2026 21:18:41)

So if one logs in 25 days during the contest, they gain both the normal and retro version of the armor? :O
Would be awesome if the retro weapon was included as well.

@Singularity below: That's what I gathered as well - just wanted to make sure. That sounds amazing!

Singularity -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/23/2026 22:56:46)

Thats how im reading it. Log in 25 days during contest period. Automatically 100% receive both amours. Anything less and you just get tickets to be randomly selected.

Animenut1 -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/25/2026 0:19:53)

Question about the mechanics. Does a player need to LOG IN, specifically? Or just "perform any action" in game that causes the game to save? For example, if the game is left open for 36 straight hours, idling in town, is that 1 login or 2? I'd like the guaranteed armor, and don't want to get disqualified for it because I didn't actively close the game and log back in every day.

KuronekoAlchemist -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/25/2026 1:26:05)

These type of events have always been doing one battle per day. Daily reset happens at 12AM EST even if you leave the game on. The hard part is remembering to do one battle a day.

I suggested the retro armor the last time they did this raffle and The Hollow said they'd do it in the future. Thanks for remembering. Hope he didn't forget the weapon.

Kaizoku -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/25/2026 10:13:25)

Not that I will ever use it, but one battle per day is easy.

Animenut1 -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/25/2026 10:32:14)

SPECIFICALLY one BATTLE, and ONLY a BATTLE? As in, does the game recognize the difference between completing a battle and exiting a shop? Both save the game. Both show that the character was "active" that day. Do Guardian Gains count as a "battle"? Does fleeing a battle count as a "battle"? Does fleeing from the Practice Drakel count as a "battle"? I just want to get the specifics ironed out for the sake of complete clarity.

Temptus -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/25/2026 12:55:51)

^ just kill the shower monster bruh u be aight

Ninjaty -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/26/2026 3:53:35)

Animenut1's posts have inspired in me an idea: Could we (if not for this contest, then for future ones) get an in-game display, that tracks our participation? Perhaps something like "X login raffle contest in progress! You currently have entries for Y/Z days!". Not only would we easily be able to verify if we had logged in on the given day, or even if we had missed one, but we could also, ourselves, verify exactly what does, and does not, qualify for a login registration during these contests.

Animenut1 -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/26/2026 14:53:32)

^This is exactly what I mean. Transparency and communication only helps everyone. When the event says "Log in to get things!", without asking any questions, it's easy to assume the requirement is....well, logging in. But when asked, the community told me "You actually need to fight something", which is NOT what the event specified. And "Fight something" is still quite vague thanks to how the game works.

This isn't meant to sound rude or anything. I just think that asking for clarification on the nuances is a fair thing to want. Especially in situations where limited-time gear is on the line, as well as any competition at all. That transparent clarity would avoid potential issues if they were to ever come up. If someone FLED from a battle and did not get a ticket for that day, having official resources that state "You must COMPLETE a battle, either win or lose, to get a ticket for that day" would be all it takes to remedy the confusion before it began. As Ninjaty said, an in-game counter would not necessarily immediately make it clear what the requirements are, but it would be a tool that lets the players conduct our own research in order to verify for ourselves, which is just as good.

The gifting events have leaderboards which, I'd assume, end up making people WAY more generous due to knowing how much they have to gift to out-gift eachother. Without the leaderboard, far less would be gifted. The simple inclusion of mechanics that allow players to retrieve information for ourselves literally ONLY helps the entire community.

Aura Knight -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/26/2026 15:04:24)

Progress indicators would be appreciated. And I agree that the eligibility needs to be more obvious. A saved fight being the default action for that also needs reconsideration because when considering alts that's a lot of time spent. Even if we get a shop to transfer the armor it's not as if that process is fast.

Singularity -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/26/2026 22:28:16)

I 2nd (3rd? 4th?) A progress indicator. Just be nice visual to make players who dont care about it, all of a sudden care more. Unless its too hard, then i understand.

Thanks devs! Swaggy game.

Id also like to be able to see what my equipment does when im in my inventory menu, and not just when im in battle looking at it, cause I forget constantly when trying to swap equipment. But thats a battle for another day.

JhyShy -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/26/2026 22:55:44)

So glad Mythical Warrior is back, even if it was changed I still like it. I also really love the guaranteed shot at the armor if you log in 25 days, that is such a good quality of life in my opinion.

However, looking at the changes for Protoparagon, I feel the SP cost changes are all good but I would like to raise changing the SC lean to FD instead, I feel it would fit better and because I don't think most Spellcasting users would even have a use case for these armor, however it would be a good use for FD users, especially with how the set has a 100 proc weapon which would fit better with the FD lean instead of the current SC lean alongside that efficient FD users and builds can benefit from the boosted SP gained. SC lean doesn't exactly have anything to gain from the set, especially with how the magic weapon isn't even a booster nor the armor have a Spell skill. Aside from that, I love the ability to switch between +Damage or +Accuracy and the ability to boost SP gained in exchange for taking more damage.

Kurtz96 -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/26/2026 23:38:05)

When will the protoparagon update be released? My version of MK3 doesn't have the new updates.

Rafiq von den Vielen -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/27/2026 1:15:10)

Can I have confirmation on this? I won Mythical Warrior last year (or whenever the last raffle for it was held, I suck at remembering dates), but Ballyhoo gives me a popup that mentions the 2015 raffle exclusively when I wanted to get the Retro version from her, meaning I'm not able to buy Retro MW.

Is this intended or not so much?

Yes I very much agree with this idea. There should be some indication of login/raffle participation. Would really improve the experience IMO.

Temptus -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/27/2026 8:43:04)

seconding Kurtz96's comment, have cleared cache, sold and rebought mk3 from the ballyhoo shop and still doesnt have skills to toggle the lean etc?

There are two shops - the original drawing, and the one from last year. The one from last year is on the last page of Ballyhoo Armor shops. :)
If the latter shop doesn't work for you, then there is indeed something wrong.

@Staff: As others have suggested in the past, could be perhaps get a retro version of the Mythical Blade as well, especially so since you tease it on the Today's Event page? :D

I didn't see the second one, lol. Worked fine, thanks for telling me.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/27/2026 20:51:39)

I'm so glad the Mythical Warrior contest makes a return, its the one and only armor I really wanted the most in the game (which I think is obvious given my game name lol)

Aura Knight -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/28/2026 14:38:19)

Maybe this isn't the time to mention it but the decision of tying heals to the stat that currently makes healing unnecessary due to the boost to hp value you get from endurance doesn't seem like the correct design choice. It'd make mythical warrior more desirable if it used main stat and a sp or mp cost depending what that stat is.

Animenut1 -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (2/28/2026 19:36:11)

^I completely disagree. Mythical Warrior is supposed to be a tank. The monster fight itself has a rather hefty heal every few turns. Tying the heal to the endurance stat is on-theme. They can't give the armor the same resistances as the monster, for obvious reasons, so making it an HP-tank is the next best option. It's not like the armor is competing for being meta-viable with such strong Light-element competition. So I'd rather a thematically-appropriate armor than an uninspired armor that tries and fails to be meta-viable.

Besides, tying the heal to Endurance doesn't make it BAD. It just soft-locks the heal to specific builds. "But a heal isn't needed for tank builds!" Arguably, heals are MOST needed on tank builds. A glass cannon likely can't out-heal the damage they're taking, so they're better off just ending the fight asap. A tank may not need to heal as often, but when they do, it's MUCH more effective. So I'd argue that keeping the armor on-theme doesn't hurt its value as much as one would think.

Aura Knight -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (3/1/2026 14:26:46)

Heals tied to the endurance stat lack necessity because you just don't need to heal because of the hp buffer the stat gives. In restricting the use of the skill to a specific build it makes the armor easily skipped because of the existing better options. By removing the need to invest in endurance that boosts armor desirability which should be a good thing. And I'll challenge the point regarding thematic sense because there's gear that are exceptions to that and in such cases a theme is forsaken for the purpose of filling a gap. Look at fungibushi the obviously samurai themed armor that was granted magic capabilities.

I don't expect anything to change but there's got to be some worth in mentioning all this.

Animenut1 -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (3/1/2026 17:44:32)

quote:

1) Fungiboshi is only a meta armor due to a lack of better options. It's got good resistances for three elements, two of which have effectively no better options. Claiming that Fungiboshi being given magic to fill a gap is an example of why themes should be ignored ignores the actual issue that Wind and Light are underepresented armor elements for mages. Literally ANY dedicated Light armor with a built-in Light skill would be a valid replacement for Fungiboshi. Does it fill a gap? Yes. But the real issue is that there's a gap that needs filling and Fungiboshi is the only reasonable, available option. If the point being made is "Theme can be ignored for the sake of making an armor viable", then Fungiboshi is a bad example because Fungiboshi's viability is solely due to lack of better options. Winning a race with no competitors isn't proving your athleticism, after all.

2) That said, unless I'm mistaken, Mythical Warrior is a warrior armor. Because of how the game works, technically any armor can be used for warrior or mage purposes as long as you have the stats to back it up, but spellcaster armors tend to have spell support, a spellcaster lean, or a spell built in, and as far as I'm aware, Mythical Warrior has none of those. It's....also....called "Warrior" lol So. That means the armor will have to compete with other Warrior Light armors like Paladin, Ultimon, Rubicon Legate, Hexbound Solar Core, Fiend of Light, and, to a lesser degree, White Knight. Despite the latter's skill not being compatible with a STR build, it's still better than a basic Light armor with a heal, regardless of stat investment. Unless Mythical Warrior has built-in Light attack to make its damage viable, or the SP cost of its heal is DIRT cheap to make it spammable, there's really no way for it to compete with even White Knight, the "worst" viable Light armor for Warriors.

P.S. Samurai monsters have magic attacks in the game. There's a Light-element samurai monster that spams his strong Light spell until he runs out of MP. A samurai armor with magic isn't breaking any themes.

dizzle -> RE: Let the Soul Reaping Begin (3/5/2026 18:43:29)

I also agree that tying heals to END is counter-intuitive. Having 6,000HP when the games mobs are designed with the basic assumption that the player actually has *half* of that amount, on top of the standard of getting a completely full heal every 2 turns while questing, on top of the massive power discrepancy between mobs and the player, you almost never need to heal *at all* with max END. If you find yourself constantly in need of heals with max END that is an issue with your play style plain and simple and shows that you’re straying from the games standard assumptions. This is not an issue in and of itself, but all items and direction of item creation use a set of standard assumptions when being designed. In other words, needing constant heals as a tank player with max END doesn’t inherently mean you’re playing wrong, but it means that you’re not playing the game the way you’re assumed to be playing (whether you’re not using proper ele resists, or spamming EO, or spamming buffs etc)

I don’t think that tying heals to END is a mistake, but I don’t think it needs to be necessary at all times or some new standard, and I can see why you could argue for mythical warriors heal to use mainstat instead of END. If we want to stick to theme truly then the heal skill would *have* to scale with either STR or DEX (or LUK) since mythical warrior is actually a 0 END mob. It’s also not inherently a tank armor because it makes you take in more damage to deal more damage via the Fully Offensive lean, the exact opposite concept that a tank build uses at face value.

I don’t really have a dog in this fight, but my preference would be to let mythical warrior use mainstat so that it becomes not just usable, but viable for *all* builds, not just warriors and not just END invested chars. It’s a limited raffle armor that has only come around a few times in limited fashion each time. I don’t see any reason to gatekeep its heal skill behind any particular stat or playstyle at all, especially since it’s not even that good to begin with *EDIT* (I feel I can say this confidently as I have used the armor extensively after getting it from the last raffle a couple years back) and because the infinity spam you used to be able do with the heal skill got nerfed. I’m open to being convinced otherwise though, I haven’t thought about it extensively tbh because it seems unnecessary but there’s probably some perspectives and scenarios I’m not thinking of right now.
