stapuft -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/28/2005 16:21:09)

if u want to save it the cheat way hit the

Print
Scrn
SysRq

button and then go into a image editing software program like
paint shop pro
gimp
photoshop
or if your desprate and dont have ne other things to do it with u can always use paint then crop it to where it dont have all the buttons and stuff on it ne more and then save that and upload it online or use it as a render in a sig

I still don't know how to use deformers like a magnet tool... They don't seem to do anything.
Oh, one more thing. Why do my renders always save so small? I want big ones like Blind's...

Ok, I lied. One more thing. How do I color them in photoshop? The one you used in the sig that beat reverseblade was really well-done. How'd you do it?
Thanks in advance, Fade :)

SB: To color in PS just render the image, and add a color balance layer. As long as the c4d is already on the grey scale, it will color easily. If you want different sections to be colored differently, just get out the old polygonal lasso and highlight the part you want colored. After it's got the 'crawling ants' (For lack of better term) just add a color balance layer. You can end up with a rainbow c4d if you do it right.
You also CAN color in c4d. It's harder, but saves from the trouble of using a second program.

My stuff never comes close to Fade's.. It doesn't come out all twisty and jagged.
So so hard..

Maybe I can help you Shadowboy:

1st question: for magnet tool, make sure that after you create the primitive, hit c (to make it editable) and then click [image]http://misfits.illusione.com/teach.jpg[/image], before sucking the primitive all around like a magnet.

2nd Question: Go to render settings -> output -> set the dimensions to 1600x1200 or anything larger

3rd Question: I'll let Fade answer this. But I usually curve the render down first, and then give it one or more color balance layers.

Loki -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/28/2005 23:47:22)

Ah, so it's Color Balance, eh? I may not be any good with C4D but I can certainly pull it off in Photoshop :)
You answered question 2 perfectly, Tar. That's what I was looking for.

My first question, however, I think was a bit misunderstood. I know how to select and do magnet and stuff, but I don't know how to work the deformers. I clicked the button in the picture in an above post and dragged it beneath the shape "layer" on the top right. I got a big blue-lined bow around the primitive, "magnetized" shape, but I can't actually drag it around with the deformer. What might I be doing wrong?

Thanks Metalgear and Tar for such fast responses :)

13thokazaki -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 0:16:14)

You mean your deformer isn't taking effect or?

Loki -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 0:35:34)

Yeah something like that. I have the tool out, but I can't edit the shape with it.

13thokazaki -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 0:38:26)

place the deformer under the shape,

then in the panel beneath the window where u see the layers, turn up the strength % of the deformer

Lightnin10 -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 3:38:24)

yo how do u make the deformers work i put them in and they don't do anything plz help

13thokazaki -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 4:01:11)

read my previous posts

The Fade -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 4:40:39)

To shadowboy: Most of my colouring is within Cinema 4D to be honest.. Either with the lights or with the materials.

Thanks Tar for answering the rest of the questions. :)

Loki -> RE: Muchly Requested Cinema 4D abstract tutorial. 1.3mb (10/29/2005 16:48:20)

Perfect! This was just the help I was hoping to get. Thanks, Tar and Fade :D
