Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 15:18:18)

I'm hoping a good Gimper can convert it for me, *cough* mem *cough*

Stokey -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 15:21:07)

Tutorial

BD fear -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 15:37:06)

Good tut, It can go straight to gimp word-for-word. Good depth tut, easy to follow. Good job!

Edit: bad spelling

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 15:45:24)

Sweet, gimpers can use it too.

logeyssamus -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 15:47:00)

Um, Metal, Does it work for PS 6.0?
Because that is what i have.

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 15:59:23)

It should. Go to Image> Adjustments and see if you have Curves, Levels, Color Balance, and Hue/Saturation.

logeyssamus -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 16:00:24)

Then i do have it, because i use those on most of my sigs, but where is auto?

Sage_Slash -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 16:00:53)

meh, not really into that kind of lighting for my sigs, but >.> i might make a tutorial on how to use the lighting filter (yay filters!) to add lighting without ruining the background xP

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 16:02:22)

When you click levels, there is a button on the right. Under Ok, Cancel, Load, Save, Auto, Options. Auto is what you're looking for.

Woah sage slash, maybe you should look around the SaAMA before saying it ruins a sig. The lighting filter is a horrible tool, it doesn't work well.

logeyssamus -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 16:03:55)

I have never used that before but it is good.

Blind -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 16:14:13)

i said i needed this, the strange thing is i know how to do all of it, i never decided to use it though >.>

Mr. Zarnac -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 16:53:51)

Can I have the numbers for "auto levels"? I am using Paint Shop Pro X and it doesn't have "auto levels"...

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 17:23:10)

Ah, I didn't take a screenie. Just add another dark curves layer or add a +5 contrast on it in Brightness/Contrast layer to get the equivalent I presume.

Auto level changes with whatever the sig level thingy is like m8

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/29/2005 17:44:55)

Yeah but a contrast will do it for ya, for my sig it did about +5

AnakinGFX -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/30/2005 11:52:53)

I tried converting this into GIMP and got such horrible results.

BD fear -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (12/30/2005 13:19:55)

Eh? Not for me. it worked fine, you just have to experiment with the first curves layer. Try and get it as close as possible to Metal's settings. And if you end up having the BG whitened then just do a color balence.

TrueAnarchist -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (1/4/2006 20:51:06)

So you think people are more likely to play around with curves than contrast?
>.>
I find curves as intimidating as the pen tool.

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (1/4/2006 21:04:50)

Lol I love the pen tool too! Curves aren't hard, if you don't like what you get hide/delete the layer or brush black on the layer mask where you don't like it.

TwilightPrincess -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (8/22/2006 13:01:52)

hehe
i made a tuit onb this ummm, my first one and now i see this
well mine was for GIMP and i did use those curves and all that and the same almost settings as you, i cant believe it, lolz
and you can also use the color balance and curves to make it blend, and sometimmes even look like the render is shooting out lightning if you use wind

Dabbleh -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (8/23/2006 12:57:15)

I think I could convert, mind if I borrow sig?

Dabbleh -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (8/23/2006 13:14:43)

[image]http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/7891/metalpl1.jpg[/image]

wELL i Gave it a try, soz metal I wanted a go wid same sig.

Metal -> RE: Signature Lighting Tutorial (8/23/2006 18:26:00)

Woah this is old. No I don't mind that you used the sig, was just random filters :)
