Try using a bit lighter brush, and will someone CHANGE THE COLORS UP?!?!?!?! This is supposed to be a flexible tut, meaning you can CHANGE DIFFERENT ASPECTS FOR DIFFERENT OUTCOMES!!!!!!!!!!! Geez.

tyurista -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (9/19/2006 17:04:59)

_Depression -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (9/19/2006 18:13:32)

Darrenshan1022 -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (1/10/2007 3:40:02)

Cool, I especially like Zecke's, but my comp is screwed up! It restarts automaticly everytime I tried to do that

freefly 12 -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (1/14/2007 12:49:31)

Mine turned out pretty good
I'm not quite sure how 2 put it in the post so i can't show u
But if u have a newer version if u click either alien glow or alien neon in script-fu u can get a pretty good look
i have it on mine but i don't know about other versions

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (1/22/2007 13:09:12)

how do ya change the size of brush its to big

what brush di ya use

master -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (1/26/2007 17:17:12)

Ya you can do that. Or use spark brush that comes with GIMP then color balance to make it look fiery. I did that with my sig.

Cipher -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (1/30/2007 18:06:13)

Basically followed the tut, inverted the results, then screwed around with the brightness/contrast a bit. Then adjusted the color balance a bit to try soften up the really bright parts.

Looking back I think it'd look better without the motion blur

_Depression -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (2/3/2007 12:48:47)

it doesn't really need the motion blur, cipher. You can easily replace it with a slur filter, one of many other filters, or....... None at all!!! The tut I made specifically to be a "Flexi-Tut" where you don't need to follow the directions exactly, and almost every part of this tut can be switched or removed to your liking.

Master: The sparks brush is fine to use, but to me that looks a bit more like fireflies than fire. It's all up to you though.

Cipher: see first paragraph.

Dom: start with a bigger canvas and when you finish brushing what you want to brush, scale the image. I used the Fractal Brush from DeviantArt.com There are plenty of brushes there that look great in the GIMP. I'll PM you the link to the brushes, k?

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Fiery Background Tut for GIMP (2/3/2007 14:51:29)

I did this one with the sand dune brush. I exported it to a jpg at 19% quality, and I think it actually made it look better
