Battleon

Brave souls facing danger at every turn.
Adventurers setting out with much to learn.
Trying different quests and traveling about.
Taking some paths with a bit of doubt.
Little, friendly Moglins help them to heal.
Ebil Zorbak runs around making heads reel.
Only the strongest survive in this land.
Never giving up the battle at hand.

Dragon Fable

Daring warriors take to arms in this place.
Raising their swords or swinging a mace.
Amulets with powers to make the wearer strong.
Giving the magic needed to guide dragons along.
Once the egg is hatched, then the fun will start.
New bonds are made that stay close to the heart.

Forging new weapons with smithing skills.
A dragon and its master fighting side by side.
Blocking enemy blows and taking some spills.
Leaving enemies with nothing but their hides.
Each new adventure holds its own thrills.

Looking Ahead

I sit quite alone, unknowing and unsure.
Where will I be?
What will I see?
Will I still be me?
The mystery of it all is hard to endure.

I fear I will cave to pressure and finally give in.
Do what I'm told,
left in the cold,
bought and sold.
Letting my soul get stripped is the greatest sin.

I try to move on, wearing a happy smile.
See me there,
as I stare,
without a care.
But deep inside, I've been crying for a while.

Fear of the unknown dominates my mind.
I think it out,
what it's all about,
confirm my doubt.
I can only be sure of what I've left behind.

So I will set forward, I have nothing to lose.
The future will tell,
if I will do well,
break out of my shell.
My life is mine to do with as I choose.

The Ascent

Once upon a moonbeam, on a starlit night.
In the dusk of morn,
a mage was born,
into a world torn.
A powerful being, full of purity and light.

Eyes that sparkle with the magic they hold.
A spell was cast,
he grew very fast,
his knowledge was vast.
His destiny had been forged in a legend told.

His heart was pure and his powers great.
Quickly he learned,
as the time turned,
for more he yearned.
To help others, he would not hesitate.

Refusing payment for his magical tasks.
Forgetting all greed,
he fills the need,
whatever the deed.
All one had to do was humbly ask.

Personal gain he never does seek.
It's the smiling faces,
of those he graces,
friends of all races.
His joy is helping those who are weak.

In a flowing white robe, he travels alone.
He visits all towns,
and lifts the frowns,
of those who are down.
Throughout the world, he was well known.

A noble wizard, his heart was true.
The power of light,
and inner sight,
gave him might.
But glory wasn't what he wished to pursue.

His rise from mage to wizard went quite fast.
From boy to man,
the masterful plan,
of an ancient clan.
Bestowing him gifts to right wrongs of the past.

He was made immortal to continue his works.
Through the years,
he calmed many fears,
and ceased all tears.
Bringing joy to others, one of his favorite perks.

But he grew tired and could go on no more.
So many he saved,
the dangers he braved,
to die he craved.
His powers weakened, his body became sore.

He pled his case to the Heavens above him.
He looked to the skies,
with tear-filled eyes,
sobbing with sighs.
The magical light he held started going dim.

He felt his body weaken and started to shake.
His pleas were heard,
action was spurred,
from his begging words.
His lifelong work done, no differences to make.

Little did he know, a new ascension had begun.
Leaving life behind,
only to find,
a new state of mind.
His body glowed with a light, bright as the sun.

Toward the Heavens he rose; his pains were gone.
Refreshed and renewed,
his sorrows subdued,
uplifted his mood.
Surrounded by the sound of Angels in song.

A group of hooded figures appeared from the mist.
Garbed in white,
bathed in light,
a Holy sight.
Each one bearing celestial tattoos on their wrist.

They were the Ancients, the fabled wizards of Lore.
All gathered here,
in the atmosphere,
bright and clear.
Facing each other in two rows, making a path to the door.

As he walked between them, many faces stood out.
Wizards of the past,
not the first nor last,
but a noble cast.
Great beings of legends, worthy of writing about.

The famed Wizard Council, he knew every single one.
He kept his pace,
nodding to each face,
humbled by their grace.
This was his acceptance into the Council of the Sun.

The door loomed closer and opened wide.
There on a throne,
of marble and stone,
he sat all alone.
The one and only Merlin awaited him inside.

He welcomed him warmly to this brotherhood of light.
He then could see,
a fulfilled destiny,
and this was meant to be.
He felt honored to have ascended to this height.

He was led to a pedestal that held a massive book.
Adorned with gold,
fragile and old,
the print still bold.
Pages already open, he leaned in closer to look.

The story of his life was there before his eyes.
Tales of the mages,
throughout the ages,
recorded in these pages.
Tales upon tales of their predestined lives.

Some were written of years before their birth.
There was his too,
inked out in blue,
every bit was true.
A detailed account of his era upon this Earth.

Up to his final days and his worthy ascension.
How it was the plan,
this good-hearted man,
would join this clan.
A special note at the end caught his attention.

It was now his turn to bless the next in line.
To pass on his ways,
through golden rays,
for the coming days.
To the worthy one, another's time to shine.

A powerful being full of purity and light.
Into a world torn,
a mage will be born,
in the dusk of morn.
Once upon a moonbeam, on a starlit night.

Heaven-Sent

I've searched high and I've searched low.
I looked everywhere I went.
For the one that I will know.
The one who's Heaven-sent.

One who completes me and makes me whole.
One who cleans away my heart's lament.
The one who touches my very soul.
The one who's Heaven-sent.

You know the one of which I speak.
Whether you're a lady or a gent.
One who makes your knees go weak.
The one who's Heaven-sent.

I know mine is out there, the one I crave.
No matter how much time I've spent.
My love I will forever save.
For the one who's Heaven-sent.

Why?

As I sit and ponder all the things that life presents me, I wonder WHY those things are there.
No matter how good or bad, the different situations I find myself in always seem to shake me up.
How many times can a person's soul be tested?
It seems as if everyone and everything on this Earth was meant to crush the human spirit.
It's not just the human spirit that gets broken bit by bit, but every living thing is affected.
For example: We take a small puppy or kitten and raise it to bend to our wills.
We kill its natural instincts just because they are things we cannot accept in "our" world.

WHY is it that no matter what we have, it is never good enough?
We always want more.
It's so sad that the "gifts" each of us have are never appreciated.
Nothing is ever given the love or respect it deserves.

Who am I to judge?
I am no-one in a sea of no-ones.
We all have one thing on our minds-WHY?
It's such a universal question.
It's probably used more times per day than there are people to ask it.

Life has provided us with many questions, but no answers.
There is nothing a person can do to change anything.
Sometimes I wonder if that's the reason WHY things become so messed up.
Too many try to change things and only make them worse.
WHY can't we just embrace things as they are handed to us instead of trying to analyze every little aspect of them?

The world has gone insane and it is taking everything on it with it.
My head hurts and my heart cries tears of blood every day.
Yes, it is a morbid thought, but we live in a morbid world.
The death that surrounds us is ever searching for its next victim.

I write my inner-most thoughts and feelings because it makes them more real and thought-provoking to others.
There are so many things inside me that I have only scratched the surface.
Things that would cause others to mark me as "mad" or "insane".
But what is sanity?
Can there be anyone or anything out there that can be considered truly sane?

When I was small, the world was just my playground.
I pretended that I lived in a perfect place where all dreams came true and there was no such thing as monsters.
Now I am grown with a child of my own.
I tell him the same lies that my parents told me, and I am sure, that their parents told them.
I see such hope in his eyes and wonder if I ever had that look.

The innocence of a child is a most precious thing.
They are so brutally honest in all they say.
They see the world as it is with open eyes and hearts.
And we, as their parents, hear that same unanswerable question-WHY?
They all want to have the answers, but sometimes there are none to give.
What gives anyone the right to answer the unanswerable just because they "think" they are sure of the answer?
Some things are better off being left alone.

I'm not trying to preach or be judgemental.
I have no right to for I am not perfect and have made my share of mistakes.
We all have.

I sit and wonder if there are others that feel as I do.
Is there anyone out there that feels the pain of all the hurting lies?
The pain of being "different."
I know it doesn't make a lot of sense to ask it because I know they are out there.
They fear, like me, to voice their opinions and let themselves be heard.

If the world came to a screeching halt this very minute, the silence would be deafening.
Just to hear your own voice in that kind of silence can be comforting, yet, also maddening.
To be that alone and empty is just unthinkable.
But, there are ones out there that live with it every single day of their lives.

Again, I come back to that one word-WHY.
This is the one word in any language that can go on for infinity.
Because, even after you attempt an answer, someone always wants to know WHY that is.

My Angel

Softly, you came to me.
You whispered in my ear.
In a state of tranquility.
You said, "I love you dear."

Together we watched the stars.
Blinking up in the sky.
You took away the scars.
Left from days gone by.

I can't help but think.
How lucky could I get?
With madness on the brink.
That is when we met.

You saved me from drowning.
In an ocean of pain.
You stopped me from frowning.
And made me love again.

You took me to another place.
And showered me with your love.
I can't wait to see your face.
My angel from above.

You're a Gift

I watch with amazement and awe.
While you do the things you do.
I cannot find a single flaw.
In the uniqueness that is you.

The way you take on every task.
With determination to never fail.
In your light I will always bask.
For you, there is no scale.

A heart of gold and spotless soul.
I know you can do no wrong.
Mending what's broken, ever your goal.
Whatever it takes, no matter how long.

You possess strength I have never known.
Your will is beyond compare.
In knowing you, my spirit has grown.
I've learned how one can share.

May your light shine forever more.
Keep that special smile on your face.
You may not know what you're here for.
But you're a gift to the human race.

'Tis the Season!

The wintry season is upon us again.
A time for reflection is here.
Pretty white snow and chilly wind.
Holding our loved ones so near.

Hot chocolate is served by the fire.
Cookies are in the oven so nice.
Spirits are soaring ever higher.
The world is sculpted in ice.

Giving gifts to family and friends.
Hearts are all aglow.
Traditions that will never end.
'Tis the season of the snow.

Travelers ready to take a chance.
Reaching for destinations afar.
In the sky they catch a glance.
Of the bright and shining stars.

Never can we take for granted.
The joys life puts on our plate.
In places our feet are planted.
We must chalk it up to fate.

Take these thoughts with you.
Wherever you may go.
Love all things old and new.
'Tis the season of the snow.

Happy Holidays to all!

Highway in the Sky

We sit here in silence with a heavy heart.
Saddened by a tragic event.
From this plane a friend did depart.
His spirit climbs a magical ascent.

His love to ride on the open road.
Shared by many he knew.
The thrill on his face always showed.
Freedom pure and true.

Fate has a way of stepping in.
It changes things all around.
Just when we think we can win.
No comfort can be found.

Our hearts are always with our brother.
But for him we must not cry.
His soul carries on like no other.
Riding that highway in the sky.

Rest in peace Fuzzy

A Dragon's Journey

Upon her egg a dragon mother waits.
Patiently, she keeps it warm.
Ever concerned what brings the fates.
She protects it from all harm.

Her mate gone, prey to a slayer's sword.
She releases a golden tear.
Memories flood of him being gored.
She must carry on without fear.

A special hatchling grows inside.
This egg she guards day and night.
Her chest swells up with pride.
Imagining its power and might.

Not a single element will this one be.
But all the elements combined.
Excited by her thoughts is she.
Of this child that is magic defined.

A moonbeam rested upon the shell.
It started to glimmer and glow.
She whispered the words of a spell.
An eerie wind began to blow.

The egg cracked as thunder boomed.
Lightning spread across the sky.
Darkness in the heavens loomed.
She let out a roaring cry.

Pieces of the shell rained to the ground.
As golden talons broke it apart.
She could not hear another sound.
Just the beating of her heart.

In one final burst the egg was gone.
Only tiny shards of it remained.
Sunlight announced the coming dawn.
Causing her weary eyes to strain.

The child faced the light of morn.
Basking in the warmth it gave.
A miracle was finally born.
To a world it must one day save.

The mirror-like scales began to shine.
Reflecting the sun's golden beams.
Feathery hairs on its neck so fine.
Its onyx eyes started to gleam.

The mother stood awe-struck and proud.
Its beauty was beyond compare.
Spreading her wings she roared out loud.
The child turned to face her there.

She softly cooed to call it near.
Then tucked it underneath her wing.
Showing her baby it had nothing to fear.
Happily she began to sing.

A dragon's lullaby poured from her lips.
Her child snuggled against her hide.
Nudging her with hungry nips.
With a tiny roar it finally cried.

It grew strong in her loving care.
The years passed by so fast.
There wasn't a moment to spare.
She knew their time wouldn't last.

A fine male dragon he turned out to be.
With powers no other dragon had.
Drawing strength from all he could see.
His aging mother began to feel sad.

She knew she wouldn't last much longer.
Her powers were growing weak.
She deteriorated as he grew stronger.
It took all she had just to speak.

"You are my gift to this world, my son.
Use your powers for doing good.
My time with you is almost done."
She knew that he understood.

They flew together to a special place.
Where old dragons go to die.
Sadness spread across his face.
As he breathed a mournful sigh.

Their goodbyes were said with many tears.
He flew away all alone.
He knew he had to shed all fears.
As he was finally on his own.

He faced the world and stood his ground.
He did not care he was the only one.
The only chromatic dragon around.
His journey had only just begun.

Another Time and Place

Memories flood my mind,
thoughts of being with you.
Maybe I was just blind,
ignoring what was true.

I thought that you loved me,
that I was the only one.
Then you just set me free,
and said that we were done.

You cast my love aside,
like nothing was ever there.
Just taking me for a ride,
having not a care.

I will not show my tears,
appearing I am weak.
The sun will soon appear,
shining upon the bleak.

I will find love again,
though I still see your face.
I will wait until then,
in another time and place.

Angel Lost

Strewn feathers lay
silent upon the ground
As night closes day
the nothing surrounds

She sits all alone
awaiting the dark
Her halo no longer shone
it had lost its spark

Lifting her eyes
moistened with tears
She looked to the skies
and faced her fears

A voice inquired,
"Why do you cry?"
She was sad, uninspired
and could no longer fly

Her heart was broken
she could barely speak
Her spirit had awoken
but now it grows weak

She lets darkness come
it embraces her there
Letting herself go numb
She's suspended in air

She doesn't fight
her strength is gone
Her heart lost its light
her voice lost its song

Darkness had won
it cared not the cost
Blocking out the sun
another Angel was lost
