Card games with levels are very popular on kongregate also and they have prizes for good games. Also kongregate is in a partnership with games tip.

He has a chat with several players a few months ago about the future of AE first come first serve which is how I know about the mobile AQW game.

Still doesn't answer my question.
But either way, if he did tell you, shouldn't you pass on the word?

AQW going mobile was basically Project Omni : Getting all games on Mobile. . . .
Huh ok. So we're still waitin' on that announcement then. Slow progress. . .. just hope it doesn't "slow" enough where
they just ignore it, not answer it at all, and close this topic once it hits 30 pages. Lol.

Only new games?

(edit)

@Nulgath: Yo. Uh. What did you have in mind when you said you thought there could still be some hope in Oversoul by letting the community
put their art in Oversoul as characters?

I've re-read it, and it seems like I was correct, this would only apply for characters, and we would only be able to use existing animations. Hmm.
Not to mention I'm not sure who in this community could build in flash. . . .

But uh, I want to hear why you would think just characters could bring hope to Oversoul? Unless we have two different mindsets for "hope."

My view of "hope" for Oversoul would it getting all of its gameplay features in, with a tad bit o' advertising around them AE worlds, with a tweet from Artix/Alina or someone
giving a shoutout to Oversoul's new features. Not to mention balancing out the X-boosts, since they clearly need balancing. Then many people would come back, funds would go up,
etc. However, just characters ain't going to do it at all. . . .

I mean, I still think Oversoul has epic potential. It'll be like Pokémon, but even better with such a nice storyline and extras since it doesn't just cater to 10 year olds and up. Lol.
And who doesn't like competitive play in Pokémon? =.= Tis an awesome thing. But unfortunately I believe that Oversoul cannot be revived with just community effort.
It's one thing to wish upon a star, it's another thing to actually have that wish come true.

Though the "hope" devised by just letting people dump in characters. . .well ain't that heading to a path I predicted? A small world for the small community that is left, nothing much at all
outside of it. . . Oversoul would still be dead, just home to a really small playerbase of what's left. . . . . .

Just wondering why you thought letting people dump in characters would bring "hope" to Oversoul. . . .

Cause all we are gonna get is new characters anyway why not let the players do it while he can work on other stuff also Blackshock has started using Flash and even animted a few characters check them out.

Doesn't answer my question, again.
What did he see in it that would bring new "hope" to Oversoul, and what his vision of Oversoul was if this thing turns out to be a success.

I did check them out, for your information. Lel. Though I must say, would he be the only one contributing characters then I wonder? Hmm.

OS most likely wont ever thrive again but if people wanna hope might as well let them.

"OS most likely wont ever thrive again but if people wanna hope might as well let them. "
Exactly. I couldn't really find a nicer way to say that, so I proceeded to hold it in. Well thanks for saying that so bluntly.
I agree. xD

Unless of course miracle happens and AE works on OS again. It's got potential, but things need to be added in, and XP Boosts re-balanced.

Not like we had a real team to begin with 2 music people 2 artist one of which is the only animator and 2 coders with one also being the head coder for another game and Warlic who works on pretty much every other game and doesn't work on weekends.

Exactly. Everything I was saying all along. -sigh-
Though I think even though there was only 1 Animator and 2 artists, Nulgath/Rev, it was more than enough. . . .we still got lots of characters.
It was the coders I think. The coders were way too busy. And I'm pretty sure we all get it, no coders = no game.
Why AE?

Alina gave an answer that Nulgath was overseeing volunteers, but Nulgath already stated everyone was too busy to train the person who volunteered to help. I can no longer support this game due to the lack of innovation it will gain in the future. The features and storyline were basically announced dead from the head himself so the alternative to the solution is this "create your own character slot".

In the beginning I gave this game my full support, but as seeing my support to go to waste and barely an attempt to get this game going and moving to another project just dwindles what was left of my expectations.

A game with great potential, but now left to stale in the rut without trying alternative fundraising for the extra help. I know the AKs may see this as a negative thinking, but in in a constructive sense OS cannot go far without full attention given back as it was in the beginning with a full time team.

@Nulgath: Would you ever build another game in the future?
You've got amazing ideas/skills, and more experience now with running a game.
Though I must say, in my opinion, you weren't given much of a chance with two really busy coders. No matter how good they were,
what did it matter if they couldn't work on OS that much and were flooded with other tasks? Not your fault, you weren't given good resources in my honest opinion.
And considering how much you did for AE, and how big you were in their history, I think YOU deserved better.

Though it is sad to see how much $$$ players spent that went to waste. . ..

Who's idea was it to introduce SG's that early in the game anyway. -.-
I think not even AQW had membership going until it was fully launched, right?
OS ain't even completed.

Oversoul was going strong dude, even if it was released too "early."
I could definitely see potential that is well worth-it in digging it out of this "cycle" of doom.
After all, who wouldn't, after seeing how well it was going when it first started. Stress test, Alpha test, those were the days.
Game so awesome I didn't even have to log in to forums to talk to somebody. LOL.
But already moving on to Artix's game. Seriously? :/
Not in terms of you working on it, but AE's attention shifting away from OS, onto the next project, Artix's game.
Since like I said, Community effort is not enough, as clearly shown.

I was thinking of making a AE Fundraising Ideas Thread in AEGD to discuss the possibility of Kickstarter to revive the games, but I'm not sure if I should.

I see no harm done in giving it a try. At the current state the game's currently in, I say let's do what we can.

Here the sheet for putting a game up only the owner can put it up there though but if you do put it up there you still own it and get paid for ad revenue and etc.

AE owns oversoul but he's game lead I think so he'll most likely have to ask for permission since he couldn't even talk to us without it.

I was laughing so hard while making this. Had this idea in my head for quite a while now. Haha xD
Here's another link to it if you don't see the right Meme.
*ahem* Anyways!

Though starting a Kickstarter for Oversoul. . . I see little chance of that happening
now that I look at it. Since AE is moving away from Oversoul, why would they do a kickstarter on it?
It'd just mean more attention would be brought to something they don't want to spend money on.

Just my say on it. Not going against it by all means if someone mistakes it for that kind of intent. Heh. :P

Well it looks like all we need is for warlic and rolith to find time to train someone whose willing to work on OS since a lot of people are willing they just need to be trained.

This guys a new AE artist willing to work on OS https://twitter.com/ArchfiendTheo/status/480888177280839680

@Gorillo: Define "lots." So far we've only heard of one. Lol.
Remember that the person who is willing to work on OS (coding wise) needs to know how to code first.
Rolith/Warlic will teach them how to code in Oversoul style, but not coding entirely. Lel.

But eh. More art? Cool I guess. Though coding is also required to get characters in, isn't it?
And if AE wants to move on from OS. . . eh. . .
