Hey, boss, we just got a new weapon idea in. The artwork was mostly lost in transmission, unfortunately, and what we did get through is a bit... sketchy. We might be able to get it properly later, but for now all we've got is a text description and some sketches. Weapon Name: The Plasmoid 500 Weapon Description: Your average, everyday plasma gun- with a twist. Its primary fire will fire a wave of plasma at an enemy, causing intense physical damage. The pain from the damage may even be enough to immobilize an opponent for several seconds. Pretty standard. The secondary fire, on the other hand, is the interesting one. Again, it fires a wave of plasma. However, the gun has been specially modified to temporarily hold the plasma in place around its user. It's still in the early stages of testing, but such a shield appears to have the ability to stop objects passing through it, possibly even pushing them out of it. This would have huge ramifications in the field of battle, of course, as soldiers utilizing this shield would be protected from enemy attack and could even turn their opponent's attacks against them! (translation: Normal attack has a small chance to stun. Special attack creates a force field. When an opponent attacks this force field, three things can happen. Most likely: weapon damage is lessened and turned against enemy, meaning the player received half damage and the opponent receives half damage. Less likely: weapon is blocked entirely and the enemy receives full damage. Very unlikely: shield fails and the player receives full damage.) [Note: this weapon was designed to be used with the attack systems used in AE's current games, meaning you can't choose attacks with a weapon. In a perfect world, the player could choose which attack to make. The "primary fire" would do a normal attack with a small chance to stun. The "secondary fire" (which they could choose to make; it would have a pretty high cooldown time, too) would create a force field that would either block or lessen the damage of all attacks made on the player for a certain amount of turns (say... three.). The version I gave above only has the shield cause damage to the opponent because otherwise it would be a really rotten special attack, but if you could choose between the two, it would be a tactical decision- cause damage to the enemy, or protect yourself?] Artwork: Artwork was mostly lost in transmission, but we did manage to secure the designer's notes. The few garbled sketches we did manage to acquire are in the "Attack Animation" section. The gun itself would look sort of like your standard futuristic space ray gun. I envision it as being fairly large and heavy, with a medium-length, wide barrel. Its shape would be rounded, with no sharp edges, corners, triangles, or squares. (so basically nothing like the one in the examples below) It would be more rounded shapes and ovals. If there are different animations for each weapon (like in MQ), then it's two-handed with a lot of recoil. In colors... something light grey or white and futuristic-looking for the basic color, accented with a more vibrant one. Blue is nice and futuristic-looking, but I'm thinking more along the lines of a red or dark green, maybe even orange. The plasma should be a cool color (completely ignoring the fact that real plasma is hot...), probably green. It's also semi-transparent. Attack Animations: Primary Fire Example When fired, the weapon releases a large glowing ball of plasma that is absorbed by the opponent's body when it hits. The plasma is semi-transparent and fades away completely when it hits the opponent's body. Secondary Fire Example Again, a large glowing ball of plasma is fired, but this time it stays on the user's side. It begins to pulse, gradually expanding until it completely surrounds the user. As it expands, it becomes more transparent, so it's only faintly seen around the user.
