Sneak Peek: An Urgent Letter to Battleon By Radagast To whom it may concern: You may not know me, you may have no reason to trust me, but what I say is of grave importance. For as long as I can remember, I've been fighting monsters. I took up this task well before my first attempt to fuse might and magic in perfect harmony. Indeed, it was long before I even thought of such a concept. For that matter, my father was slaying those creatures while I was still an infant, but I digress. Among the many monsters my sword has slain were dragons. I've slain them both with and without the fabled Dragon Blade (which always seems to disappear on me when I go to sleep. I swear, its like the thing has a mind of its own.). This isn't to say they were special kills, because for the most part they weren't. No, many of those dragons hardly harbored the strength of an Alpha Werewolf. But recently... recently something seems to have changed. I ran into a small Ice Dragon several days ago; it was probably no more than a baby, I suspect. As such, I didn't take it seriously when it attacked. The battle, however, was different than normal. Unlike every other time where I've fought an Ice Dragon, where the battle seemed to get easier as I hit the beast, this was a fight where it got harder. At first, I attributed it to just carelessness on my part. That is, until I felt my sword slipping in my grasp. My arm had gone numb without my knowing! Such a thing has never happened to me in my life! It was then that I decided not to hold back. After the battle ended (I won, of course), I sat down to try to figure out what was going on. That was when I noticed it. The dragon's body was dispersing all the heat, making the very air around it absolutely frigid. When I got within arm's length of it, I could see my very breath (which was quite odd, seeing how I was in the middle of the forest on a sunny day). To think that an infant dragon could master such an ability... I had to make sure. I went head to head with other dragons, from the mighty Earth Dragons to the fearsome Fire Dragons. Sure enough, each dragon type was much improved from the last time I fought them. The Light Dragons even seemed to heal their wounds as they were caused! What's worse, the older dragons had learned even newer tricks! Please, if you get this letter, inform Galanoth and the dragonslayers, Cyrus and the dracomancers... tell everyone! The dragons are growing in strength and I fear that something greater is to come. I have observed several figures of roughly human size (It's hard to tell from this distance) who seem to be talking to a large gathering of dragons. Soon after, many of the beasts started making their way towards Battleon. You'd best prepare for the worst! For the moment, I'll remain here and keep watch. I'll try to forward what else I learn, but things are getting tight and such a thing might not be feasible. Please, we must be ready for this new threat! Sincerely, Radagast P.S. If you see Khold Staeirgh, please tell him that I haven't forgotten the 10 gold pieces he owes me from our days studying together. P.P.S. Please also tell him that his swords, shiny as they may be, are powerless against my techniques.
