Mail Moogle of AdventureQuest

The deadline has already passed Sigmund, I'm sorry you missed the memo. We already got the thread up. What we need is more ideas. Sir Gnome is in charge of his idea, I am in charge of my own idea. More info is better but keep in mine I'm on a limited time budget here. >.>

Anyways, to recap what ze moogle needs:

1) Improvements to what's on the floor

2) Re-link me to that armor suggestions thread

3) Monster suggestions

4) New ideas.

And that's it. :/

We've expanded what's on the floor to such a huge extent that this last vote should totally break down what we currently have.

As for suggestions, I'll go find my old Suggestions thread and see if any of it is Paxia related =P

I don't want to be negative because this is a great idea. I just want something to be decided and put into action.

Yes I remember the Deadline,,,,, and then the Thread went on.
I thought we already had loads of ideas for all of these? If we are just keeping the Thread going without any End in sight, it is just going to get more boring.
If you just want new players to contribute, maybe you should start a new Thread? New Idea?

Mail Moogle of AdventureQuest

This is a new thread. And how about you contribute? Or, you can compile what's been put out there for me and put it in a form suitable for a suggestion, and I'll add it to the part in the Suggestions forum.

In case you didn't notice, we already have a thread in Suggestions at this point in time. We don't need a new thread when we're only page 4 of this one.

But seriously, unless you actually have a suggestion, whining about what's going on isn't going to help. I'm sorry if RL is hectic right now. College applications will do that. Besides, Fal said he already has his own thing going. Just be patient please.

And yes, this thread goes on. Primarily because Suggestions has a no brainstorming thread rule. So both threads need to be alive in order for it to function. Plus it let's Paxians know that there's an effort to work on this.

Moral of the post: Relax. Things will come as needed, and when the moogle can get to them. If you can help the moogle by actually suggesting something besides what to do with teh thread or help compiling, it will certainly speed things up.

Yes! Yes, a million times yes! What we need is contributions from Paxians in general. I know its a bit unnerving when the current two suggestions are each headed by an AK, but as we've said many a time, we still need someone to champion a third idea, which is as different from the current two as they are from each other.
If you don't quite feel up to that, then you can help improve the Tournament or Relation system - look over the posts in this thread and the one in Suggestions made by Pie and myself, (you can find my most updated work on page two of this thread, soon to be on Suggestions first post when Pie updates) and make suggestions for improvements. Here's an (inexhaustive) summary of what needs doing:

quote:

Complete list of Clan Armors- This means pictures, stats, the works. There is a project here that has been approved by all the clan leaders, a while back. Alternative armors should still be suggested though, and we can vote later

Clan Members- Hopefully similar to the Clan Armors. Use the current clan members as a referance point, and keep in mind it's all level scaled

Master Formula- That's right, we need that magical balancing formula of Proposition 1 (Mine, the tournament) if we're going to sell it to the Staff. We need to find something that will make things fair

Deadweight propositions- We talk about clan wipes, but we haven't really created a formal thesis yet

More ideas- We'll need a third idea. Everyone loves 3, it's everywhere. People like that third option, rather then choosing between 2

The In-game forum link button!- We need a fanciful way to sell this idea. Ish is too lazy to do it XD Personally, I have a silohuete suggestion, which I will be reposting in this thread soon. Alternative suggestions welcome of course.

And finally.... @freedom_cleastia - Under my proposal, that would be possible

Our champion third idea... well I believe it would be in the old Univision thread before it was eventually knocked out. Is it still there?

Apparently not. All right, so let's think.

Our past ideas have been-

Random Battle Generation
Tournament Style
Agressiveness
Um... something
Something else

You guys have fun filling in the two somethings =P

We need to vote on our clan wipe method, as for balancing the tournaments, balancing based on Clan Size has been shot down since it's all about clan activity. In effect, it's balanced as it is =/

As for the in-game forum-link button, we can try begging. Then again, that never works, so instead we'll try selling off the idea in a calm and mature manner =P

Although I havent acutally ask him personally about this yet, we could put Scakk in-game in each of the clan bases, who, when clicked on, would give a small explanation of what Univision was, and give a link to the forums. This is instead of having the various clan heads in each base, as they are only forum elected, and have no real power. Scakk however is the Mod of Paxia, and so official.

i have an idea but im not sure if its related..here goes
maybe a smaller clan who wants to defeat a larger clan and needs help can use an amount of z-tokens to sort of 'hire' a thrid party clan to join them
example:
dynami wants to defeat geeto(lets say)and is scared that halfway in the fight that it will get defeated instead, so they can used a sizable amt of z-tokens from their clan stockpile(not too much of course)to get another clan say, igneus join them. if igneus accepts the offer to fight then they do so at their own risk and loss. if the battle goes badly for both clans them igneus can choose to retreat but it must pay back 1/3 of the tokens paid to them...its kinda lyk payin someone to join u and fight..something lyk paid mercenaries that fight
this method can aso be used if a clan is more than halfway defeated and needs help to defeat the enemy clan attackin them.

i thought of this idea on the train back home.....is it gd?

I always like a challenge:

SO how about this for an Event Idea.

Hunt the Moogles:
1. Everybody is sent an email announcing the Event.
The AQ Event Scroll at Battleon announces the Event and the Clan wipe.
Clan membership is revoked for all Characters. Thursday evening 7pm EST, server Time.

2. One week is allowed for all Characters to rejoin a Clan.

3. Everybody is sent an email announcing the Start of the Moogle Hunt.
Paxus is Removed. The Event begins on the second Thursday Evening 7pm EST, server Time.

4. Each Clan participates in a hunt around the Adventure Quest map for hidden Moogle sites.
These may be places already red dots on the map or Hidden, like The Pit. Whichever is easier to program.
5. You have to use your skills, a 60% roll is needed to find a Moogle (DEX), trick a Moogle (INT), overpower a
Moogle (STR), outrun a Moogle (END), Charm a Moogle (CHA) or be Lucky with a Moogle (Luk).

Failure would involve an amusing comment, about your lack of abilities, made by the Moogle.
You can choose to add Skill Points to the random roll to help win your Moogle. A spell Or an item could be
needed to atune your Skill Points to Moogle Hunting. Each 10 Skill Points would give
+5% to your roll. with a maximum modifier of +20%.
If you fail the First roll you have to Fight a Random Monster associated with the Region of Paxia (this was meant to be Lore, to allow more hiding places. It could be limited to
Paxia for a one off Event) that you are in.
The Monster would give double XP and Gold just for this Event.
If you fail the second roll you are sent back to Battleon and have to return.
6. Moogles found are rounded up, coralled and counted at your Clan Base. This could be automatic or require
your character to actually go to the Clan base to Donate your Moogles to the Clan (Like Z-Tokens) whichever is
easier to program.

7. It is up to Clan members to help each other by PMing or emailing the sites of Where the Moogles can be found
to each other.
This should encourage Forum activity as well as helping Clan activity.
Anyone posting the locations should be excluded from the event. NOT an easy one to program

8. At the end of the Event 7pm EST Sunday the Clan with the most Moogles gets the Moogles as Clan Pets. All
elemental Types available. Which can be bought only by those people who played in the event.
9. The Third Thursday Moogles are removed from the Clan Shop of the Winning Clan and Paxus is restored so that
people can change Clans. Or start joining Clans again.

No Moogles were harmed in the making of this Event.

Hmm... Interesting SIGMUND, definitely different in that we arent actually fighting one other here. Having read through, there are a few things I'd flag up:

1) Emailing everyone is out, frankly. They don't do this for Devourer Saga stuff, so they sure won't for Paxia

2) As for not being able to post on the forums, and being discounted if you do... Very dificult to enforce, both due to programming, and AKing - what do we say is out of bounds? How much of a hint can people give? etc

3) Ideally, Univision will create a long term, or repeatable event (the 'relation' one being long term, the tournament being repeatable). While yours has this a bit, eventually we're gonna run out of places to hide the little guys, and so its got limitied reuseability

4) I have a horrible feeling everyone would know all of the places in about 24 hours, due to things like IRC - also, it could lead to mass PMing, where clan members try to tell everyone else in their clan, and mass PMing is BAD.

@freedom -Using Z-Tokens for some purpose other than base repair is something i'm very much in favor of personally, but your suggestion isnt really an idea in its own right - it could be used as part of one of the current two ideas, but not be freestanding

@Cy - Thanks for the link :)

@ZC - I expect something dazzling!

I currently get an email from AE games telling me what is about to happen at the Weekends. I thought everyone does. If this is not universal ( I think I had to sign up for it, [email protected], why not remind everyone to sign up for it? Ok PMing everyone would get crazy.

I didn't really see a way to stop Spoiler Posts but did want the Clan members to help each other find the Hidden Moogle sites. I don't really think there is anyway around this problem. Unless the sites do change on a daily basis. That may be impossible to program.

I personally wouldn't want to have permanent Events revolving around Paxia, that would get boring.

The Tournament idea could run for a couple of months before everyone lost interest. Unless your Clan gets through to the final? The Event may be run again on a yearly basis.
The Skirmish idea could also run for a couple of months and maybe as a permanent possibility, if the Clans could get enough people to act on the hostility vote.

My event was only designed as a once a year thing or a once only Event.

I am working on the outline of a challenge; Revamped a old Idea.
1. When you enter you hit a button for your clan (all 8 are listed).
You go to a arena with all your clan members in the seats,(ours is clouds overlooking a plateau where the warriors fight)
with the clan leader in the center where he announces -
"*your name*has chosen to repersent Clan Aerodo (or what ever the other clan names are ..silly lowlanders) in this Paxia event to the death.... all rise and give honor!
(Aerodo)He then soars straight into the clouds in a burst of speed leaving a cloud of dust behind and as it dissipates your foe is standing there.
Each clan leader has its own exit.
The flee button is disabled by the way!
This is level one.
2.You then fight 8 monsters all + 10 of your level and of the same element and with heal every other battle.
At the end all you clan mates are standing and roaring approval.
A treasure chest = 2 x level x 10 example a level 70=1400g EXP
Event saved.

going through each element in turn though never your own Clan and none repeated.

4. Each level completed is a point for your clan

5. After completing the 7 elements you may choose which Clan element to battle.
This cost the clan of that element a point and earns your Clan a point.
This is only after completing the 7 earlier levels.

The clan with the most points wins.
And your personal wins are recorded to the clan for a Battle Award.

@SIGMUND for the skimish idea i thnk ownly the larger clans would have a hostitly vote. the smaller clans may not want to fight
@king cy u mean that the initial point gained is for ur clan(clan gains health) and then after the enemy clan loses one point the whole process is repeated again?

In the first round you battle one clan element for one point per round moving through all the other clans
this gives points to your clan (only 7 possible points).

After all are done only once then you can pick which element (Clan) to battle
for one point added your clan and reduce a point from that elements clan.
This can be done over and over.

The health of the clan are not effected as we are battling monsters.
Also you can not just leave or you die.
If you log out before the end of a round no points are awarded or recorded.

@king cy the one point deducted from the enemy clan after 56 battles seems too little? maybe 7 or 8 to up the stakes?

It is 8 battles per 1 point in all rounds and 7 rounds.
Then you choose which element to attack for +1 to your clan and -1 from the attacked elements clan.

Adding higher points would not change anything but make the programing harder.

Cy - I remember the old versions of this, its definitely been thought about quite a bit... Every player winning 7 points for their clan but then taking points from another clan could be slightly controvertial, as a clan could be ganged up on.
The general idea, of fighting monsters of other elements in an Arena setting, I think is very good though.

SIGMUND - As I dont recieve the weekly email, I didnt acutally realise such a thing existed. Seeing as it does, then the Paxia event could clearly be mentioned as an Event. Your idea sounds promising for once a year (perhaps on Pie's birthday), but as I said before, the idea of Univision is to have something to fill the long cold months we get in Paxia between the main storyline related events.
Something one could do, is to put moogles into all the Random Monster lists, with a 30% chance (for example) of finding them - although this would defeat the idea of getting all the clan members talking.

Remember what i'm trying to give is constructive criticism here, these ideas could well become very good indeed, and I hope they do!

I agree they could be ganged up on and that could be a problem in this and was only originally put in as a way for the smaller clans to even things out.
I also like the Moogles it is a very good idea maybe we could mix in all of the ideas and Character Monsters like...
(edit-I would like to do Pie too if he would not mind he would make a great boss monster-lol offers cookie)

@sir gnome to prevent bigger clans from ganging up on smaller clans hw about placin a 'buff' in the sense that for the smallers clans they gain 2 or 3 points whenever they complete 1 lvl. in addition the smaller clans could have a head start of around 1k points. this can sorta even the odds? the larger clans soring would remain the same

That would be very hard to do pre event.
But gives me a Idea on both the Wipe problem and entrance to the Clans event.
quote:

@ freedom_cleastia-I like that, you make me think about all the other things both in game and in forums in a longer term-cool beans lol

My first thought is that everything in game right now and for the short future is connected to the Devourer Saga just look what they did to our last Event.
That said We do not have to say why we are doing this event other than Rebuilding ( we can keep our secrets and goals to ourselves to use later lol )

The buttons are to wipe the clans for a fresh start as had been asked for to clear deadwood.
The levels can be arranged however it is decided on,
I just used mine as a example.

I think the Moogle Hunt, Monster(Clan Characters as monsters), Battle Arena and Other Ideas should be added as buttons TOO.
This would give diversity, interest and to make it a on going project.
All of it would work to bring the Clans together and add to all Clans forum activity.

Rebuild Paxia! Rebuild the Clans!
Work together to build the future.
(make this event about rebuilding the clan base health only
not waring with each other!)

Wipe the clans roster, then when each participant of the event comes to Paxia:
You see
Button 1 Join a Clan-In joining a Clan means that clan gets 50 points for you to heal its base.(since you can not leave a clan during a event this is a one time shot)
Plus 1 point for each of your wins in the event.
( This will give incentive to get more NEW members into your clan.
Button 2 I am already a clan member- Plus 1 point for each of your wins in the event.
Button 3 I do not wish to be a Clan member, but wants to fight the monsters.(fights monsters for only gold and exp. NO Rewards or shop access of any kind.)

after this
(Newly revanped ) The Event Starts
1. When you enter you hit a button for your clan (all 8 are listed).
You go to a arena with all your clan members in the seats,(ours is clouds overlooking a plateau where the warriors fight)
with the clan leader in the center where he announces -
"*your name*has chosen to repersent Clan Aerodu (or what ever the other clan names are ..silly lowlanders) in this Paxia event to the death.... all rise and give honor!
(Aerodu)He then soars straight into the clouds in a burst of speed leaving a cloud of dust behind and as it dissipates your foe is standing there.
Each clan leader has its own exit.
The flee button is disabled by the way!
This is level One.
2.You then fight 8 monsters all scaled (level+-*.20) and of the same element and with heal after every 2 battles (+1 health point for your clan each battle)
going through each element in turn none repeated.
At the end all you clan mates are standing and roaring approval.
If you fight all the elements your clan get a bonus of 100 Health Points for rebuilding your clan.
The Staff sets the Amount for each clan base to be rebuilt.
Continuing the event Level Two-
Choice 1*-Re-due level One (above)
Choice 2 Help rebuild ALL Clans
You fight 8 Boss monsters 1 of each element with a heal between each and at the end 20 Healing points for each clan.
*Diplomatic heal to defeat the Devourer! If your clan is finished (Fully Healed) then the clan members can pick other clans to rebuild their base at the level one style.
Your Clan gets Diplomatic points and the Clan with the most also gets a Award(?)

Yes in a way, first you rebuild you clan base by battling element monsters to get health points.
Then if done early you can help the other clans if you want as a show of good faith
and to hinder the Devourer as we are now working together to form an alliance in the rebuilding of all Paxia.
All Clans get the same reward rebuilt bases and Clan Armors to use ageist the evil agents.
Everyone benefits and no strife a big win - win.
