There are three levels of "rank" on the AE forums: AE staff members, staff assistants, and regular users. Within each rank, you will find different groups. Most groups have a title. Certain individuals can have titles which are outside those of the normal member groups. Artix Entertainment Staff (All group members in this section are a part of Artix Entertainment, LLC staff. They may have duties on the forums, in the game, in ancillary projects, or a combination of the aforementioned. Staff will have either a or symbol next to their name in boards where they have power.) Administrator (Admin) Title: Administrator (until changed by moderator/admin) Responsibility: Administrators have duties including, and sometimes beyond, those of forum moderators. These include forum name changes, general use avatar uploading, forum announcements, various forum organization/maintenance tasks, and user management, in addition to any moderation duties they take on. Each administrator has a specific focus unless they are marked General Administrator, but all admins are able to handle the duties of other administrators. Selection: Administrators are chosen from among forum moderators; the appointment of administrators is at the Co-Head Forum Administrators' discretion. Moderator (Mod) Title: Adventure Guide (until changed by moderator/admin) Responsibility: Moderators are responsible for a wide range of duties. They oversee the board/s they are responsible for, as well as the AKs which work them. They dispense discipline in the forum of warnings and bans. They have the power to remove signatures and a person's ability to use signatures entirely. They have the ability to awards titles and avatar uploads to those forum users which deserve them. General moderators (those not in charge of a specific board) assist the head moderators of the boards they frequent. Selection: Moderators are currently selected from among the ArchKnights who are 18 years old or older. They are chosen by the Co-Head Forum Administrators, Scakk and Zyrain. Knight of Order (KoO) Title: Knight of Order (Until changed by moderator/admin) Responsibility: Knights of Order are responsible for balancing the content of AdventureQuest. They also develop quests, classes, armors, weapons, and monsters. Selection: New KoO are selected by the current Knights. They currently have a pool of Squires of Order from which to choose. Staff Assistants (Staff assistants have the symbol next to their name in boards where they have power.) ArchKnight (AK) Title: ArchKnight (Will include "Arch" or "AK" and the name/s of the board/s they work in) Responsibility: To help the moderators keep the forum clean. They patrol their assigned boards helping users, watching for and dealing with rules violations (such as spam, flaming, trolling, etc). They issue warnings and recommend bans to the moderators. In addition, they keep an eye out for helpful forum users to bring to the attention of the moderators/administrators. They may have other duties depending on which board/s they work. Selection: AKs are selected from among helpful forum users by the head moderator of the board/s they frequent. The head moderator discusses his or her selection Zyrain, the Head of the ArchKnights, and if he approves they are brought aboard. Squire of Order (SoO) Title: Squire of Order Responsibility: To assist the Knights of Order with their balance-work in AdventureQuest. Selection: This is the pool from which new KoO are selected; therefore, potential SoO need to have a solid grasp of the mathematics used in AQ balance. The Game Balance Issues is a good place to start frequenting if you are interested in the SoO. Forum Specified Assistant (FSA) Title: Forum Specified Assistant Responsibility: To help assist international players. Similar to ArchKnights, they patrol their assigned boards helping users, watching for and dealing with rules violations (such as spam, flaming, trolling, etc). They issue warnings and recommend bans to the moderators. In addition, they keep an eye out for helpful forum users to bring to the attention of the moderators/administrators. They are fluent in both English and the language of the specific board they work in. Selection: FSAs are selected from among helpful and bilingual forum users by Zyrain, the Head of the ArchKnights. At the moment, only the Brazilian Help forum exists which includes Portuguese-speaking FSAs.
