1. Introduction:[V901]
Welcome to my first guide on one of the game's most hardest bosses, Thunderhammer. This guide will throughly explain some things about Thunderhammer, and how to beat this guy. It will continually expand as people tell me more useful stuff on this guy. I'm writing this guide to save you some time, as I went through the same guy and lost to him many times. So if you lose, just keep trying! You'll prevail over him! Overall this guide was fun to make, so enjoy my guide!

2. ThunderHammer:[V902]
Warning! This section may contain some spoilers!
A little background is good to know. Thunderhammer was hypnotized by Dr. Boltavolt, as Dr. Boltavolt considered him as his Arch-nemesis because he was constantly bullied around by him and other superheroes, so in retaliation, he not only kidnapped all the superheroes (including Thunderhammer), he drained them of all their superpowers and hypnotized them to do his evil bidding. Thunderhammer's hypnotized purpose is to stop you from getting to Dr. Boltavolt, but he won't stop you!
3. Know your Enemy!:[V903]
Before we actually fight him, let's take a look at what he can do so you don't get your butt accidentally handed to on the encounter with him.
Thunder Hammer
Resistances: Immobility: 100
Enemy Type:Non-Equitable
Default special abilities: N/A
Attack 1
System Shock-Losing Energy for 5 Turns: 100%
Attack 2
"Immobility Resistance Lowered: 40%"
"Stunning Blow!": Based on your Mecha's Immobility resistance.
Attack 3
Combo Punch - X% Increased Damage!:Happens if both punches hit.
Let's see, with Attack 1, his first attack he does in the fight, he can make you lose energy when he uses the move. This only happens when he actually hits you. Counter this by lowering his accuracy, or raise your defenses, or by draining energy. Weapons like the rare [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15118217]Reaper Baster[/link] decrease his accuracy, while weapons like the Disrupter Blade OC 1x drain energy and give that energy to you.
Let's look at Attack 2: He can lower your chances to resist stuns by 40%, and if your immobility resistance has already been lowered, this attack will stun you when you get hit. This will only happens when he hits you with his electric hammer wave attack, and successfully hits you again with the same attack the second time. Counter this with moves that increase your resistance, lower accuracy, or raise your defenses to avoid this deadly Stun combo. As an alternative, the[link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15165272]Web Walker Head[/link] can make it difficult for Thunderhammer to stun you with his combos.
Now for Attack 3: He can do a two hit combo punch that does massive damage. This move, in my opinion is his most deadly attack in his arsenal of moves. This will only work when both hits connect. Counter this obviously by just avoiding just one hit, or both hits if you're going to die due to low health.
4. Strategies!:[V904]
Before you actually fight him, you'll need some good strategies in order to have Thunderhammer's butt handed to him, and not yours. Here are some strategies that will work:
Strategy #1: Scaling abuse:
The scaling system in Mechquest works like this: the enemy's level is determined by your mecha chassis's level. You can see your level by doing this: Click the "Hangar" button. On the very right, there is a column to the right that says "Lvl". The number that the column states is your mecha's level. Well, back to the strategy. The Scaling works like this: Mech Level + Highest Level of equipment)/2. In example: you equip a level 1 Newbatron V1 and give it level 30 weapons. Then the enemy's level will be 15 because the average of 30 and 1 is 15. but still you can abuse this by using this setting on him:
Mecha Chassis: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=11490696]Newbatron V1[/link]
Body Attack: none
Front Arm: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=11493844]Double AutoGun[/link]
Back Arm: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=11514908]Smokey Flame Thrower[/link]
Front Shoulder: none
Back Shoulder:[link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=16046641]N-UBER Missiles (FLX-N)[/link]
This setup allows you to fight a LEVEL 1 Thunderhammer, because all your equipment is level 1. This combo is powerful for a level 1 setup, so this way you'll hit more damage than he will. I suggest that you use this strategy as a last resort, as it sort of feels like cheating.
Strategy #2: Pirate Swordfighting(Must have access to Planet Lagos and Planet Gark Shops)Non-Star Captain method
This setup on any version of the Pirate Swordsman Chassis will help:
Chassis: Any Chassis of the [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15649333]Blademaster[/link] Series
Body: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15649377]Blademaster's Curse [/link]
Front Arm: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15580241]Shiny Cutlass [/link]Series
Back Arm: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15580223]Shint Cutlass Throw [/link] Series
Front Shoulder: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15580157] Short-Range Mega-Laser[/link] Series
Back Shoulder: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15580157]Short Range Mega-Laser[/link] Series
Head: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15165272]Web Walker Head[/link](if you can use it yet, and you're a Star Captain), otherwise, your version of the [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15204222]Scanner Pulse[/link] Series will work just fine
This one is interesting: First, Activate the Body default to lower his accuracy by 25% for 5 turns. Then use the Shiny Cutlass(or the version you're using) to inflict Damage over Time AND reduce his defenses gradually to a maximum of -60, making all your hits easier to connect, so you won't have to worry about missing a shot.Fire up the Web Walker Head for some tasty damage and to raise your stun resistance(if you're a Star Captain) or if you're using the Scanner Pulse Series, use that. Fire your shoulders at will. Activate the your version of the Blademaster's Curse again. When he's close to dying, use your shoulders to make sure he is defeated. And KABOOM! He's dead!
Strategy #3: Hunter Wraith Healing ( Must be a level 28 Star Captain or higher )

The [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15030047]Hunter Wraith[/link] is a unique mecha indeed. It has 0 energy regeneration, has a special energy eating combos when the shoulders are used, and the body attack, [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15030391]Dark Appetite,[/link] can heal you by "Eating" ghosts. Well, you can actually store many ghosts in order for you to be prepared for an eternity of prepared healing. I recommend capturing at the least 10 ghosts in order to prepare for all 4 fights. If you have a hard time finding this many ghosts, the Mysterious Stranger's Ghost Capturing quest can help you as you fight and capture ghosts every time. In this method, you can use in your Hunter Wraith to breeze by this quest. Here's the setup you should use the entire time:
Body: Dark Appetite
Back Shoulder:[link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15030418&mpage=1&key=%EF%BF%BD]Wraith Phaser[/link]
Front Shoulder:[link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15030418&mpage=1&key=%EF%BF%BD]Wraith Phaser[/link]
Front Arm: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15268729]Gift Freeze Ray[/link](if you have one) otherwise, the [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14958648]Hyped-Up Flash Blaster [/link] will do good.
Back Arm:[link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15030411&mpage=1&key=%EF%BF%BD]Wraith Trap[/link]
Head: [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14920989]Thunder Head[/link]
First, Activate the Thunder Head's special. Either specials are fine. Activate the Wraith Phaser Combo (Front shoulder+Back Shoulder). If you are using the Gift Freeze Ray, use it to cut his damage by half to compensate for the Hunter Wraith's softness. If you are using the Hyped-Up Flash Blaster, try to get a critical hit on him. After that, use the Wraith Trap to sap his energy and blind him. Heal up when your HP gets close or below the 160 mark. NEVER ever let your health go below that mark, as he might use his two-punch combo attack(his most powerful attack in my view). Activate the Thunder Head once again, and try to get the "Static Cling" special this time, as you should try to avoid as many hits as possible. Then strike the fatal blow(DON'T FORGET: USE A MULTI-HIT WEAPON WHEN HE'S CLOSE TO DYING!) to end the battle!
Strategy #4: The Blinder or Fort
Perhaps the most simplest of all strategies, this is based on lowering Thunderhammer's accuracy. The trick is that when you reduce your opponent's accuracy, they have a bigger chance to miss, so you avoid damage. Then there's the Fort strategy. Like reducing your opponent's accuracy, raising your defenses has the same effect as reducing accuracy, but when used together at the same time, you can really make a mockery of Thunderhammer. An example: You reduce your opponent's accuracy by 40%, so the opponent has a 40% chance to miss. Then you raise your defense by 50%. This means that when you inflict -40% bonus and give yourself a 50% defense boost, Thunderhammer has only a 10% chance to hit you! So you can use this strategy to turn the tables on him. Here are a couple weapons that are good for this strategy, even though most of the choices are rare:
Not rare options(non-default):
Thunder Head Series, Doom Harvester Cachet Series, Crow's Cannons*, Crow's Star Cannons*, and some mechas have defaults that lower accuracy.
If you happen to use these weapons, keep in mind to use ONLY the Flash Cannon Ammo.
Rares options(non-default):
[link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15118980]Farmer Baster[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15118987]Gatherer Baster[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15118993]Harvest Baster[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15118217]Reaper Baster[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15303745]New Year Roboflash[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15303814]New Year Roboflash DLX[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15303786]New Year Roboflash SE[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15303603]New Year Roboflash Ultra[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15343693]New Year Warhead[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15343665]New Year Warhead DLX[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15343681]New Year Warhead SE[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15303874]New Year Warhead Ultra[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14792519]Cabin Boy's SwashBuckler[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15431977]Cap'n's Swashbuckler[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14782915]Buccaneer's Swashbuckler[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15125804]Dark Shredder[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15125782]Shadow Shredder[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15125777]Void Shredder[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14960088]Trick or Treat Skull[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14960106]Trick or Treat Deathmask[/link], [link=http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14960096]Trick or Treat Grim[/link]. Strategy #5: Teh Powerz of Teh 1337357 Revivedz Mechaz! (Pay no attention to purposely mis-spelled humor)
With newly Revived Mechas that have been re-done to fit today's power standards, they are powerful enough to actually serve you in this battle/quest. These mechas that have been revived are mostly the mechas you get for completing Side Jobs back in Soluna City, but they are quite the Bang for your Buck, but in this case, Credits/Nova Gems. So if you actually have one of these mechas, you should use them, as they will get you through this difficult quest in one, clean attempt.
5. The Quest!: [V905]
On Planet Zargon, there is an entire quest dedicated to Thunder Hammer so you can save him from Dr. Boltavolt. This is a 4 part duel in which he gets stronger every time you win. Choose your equipment wisely as you'll need your best stuff to overcome this threat. After the fourth battle that you win, you will have beaten Thunderhammer!
Part 1. Selina will warn you that Thunderhammer is near. You'll meet up with him, and he'll say that you can't proceed or he must stop you. The first time, he should be weaker than you, so this fight will be easy if you've used my strategies or anyone else's that works just as good. Beat him and you will see a cut scene moment in the past.
Part 2. After the nice cut scene, Thunder Hammer will reappear a second time, with more health, and maybe a little more power and stats with him. Now he will be like a real, normal Thunderhammer you faced in the quest to rescue 10 superheroes. You'll try to reason with him, but your efforts will come to ruin, and you'll fight him once again. He should still be a little worse than yours. Block, dodge or worsen him in any way to take minimal damage beat him again, and watch the cut scene.
Part 3. You'll fight him once again. This time he's even more powerful than the last time, and he'll be hard this time. This is where people start to die. but don't be scared. Stick to the plan by increasing your damage, lowering his damage and accuracy, and increasing your defenses, or do anything that'll turn the battle in your favor. Just be careful of his combos, nasty stuns, and energy losses. Stay firm and vigilant the entire time. when his health is lower than 30, you should use a multi-hit weapon due to the risk of him dodging your last hit, so he'll finish you off. Beat him, and another cut scene awaits.
Part 4. After the last cut scene is done, you'll fight him for the last time. Give it your all as if you're going to die, or you'll have to start all over again from the start, which you don't want that to happen. He fight you to the end, and you'll need to save him from Dr. Boltavolt's Hypno-Ray.Use your best combos as you'll need them in this final battle. Just do anything you can to make sure you win the fight, or use some pwning combos to finally hand his butt to him! Just for the last hit when he's at 30 HP or less, USE MULTI-HIT WEAPONS. I can not stress this enough as he might dodge your moves. Once you deliver the final and fatal blow, you will have not only have saved Thunderhammer, but he'll tell you where Dr. Boltavolt's secret lab is! To Universo!
Thank you for reading my first guide ever!
