Okay, fine. Five words:

Was the rail really four?

I counted the number of squares of each one, the second puzzle and Falerin's latest surprise. Unfortunately, the resolutions didn't match, Nex. What would that be after all? =/

I heard somewhere in this thread somebody mention a "checkerboard something cipher", perhaps what this means? If it was in black and white, it would represent a checkerboard.

Gundisalvus: Does "one and one and one and one make four" sound familiar? It wouldn't be the first time they've misled us. For all we know Fal's computer encrypted it for him.

...But that clue was real, Asrius... it let us know we had to do one of each of the previous steps to solve that puzzle.

quote:

[20:27] Falerin: Some persons have no stamina
[20:28] Damsel: Indeed not
[20:28] Dragonnightwolf: hello falerin.
[20:28] Falerin: Good e'en Dragonnightwolf
[20:29] Dragonnightwolf: what can we do for you my lord?
[20:30] Falerin: It is not so much what you can do for me but what I can do for you
[20:31] Falerin: Which is at this point to slap into you some sense. Shayril's grid is what it says it is. A simple substitution cipher. You are grossly overthinking it.

Edited so as to contain only relevant information. It's a simple substitution cipher--like the first puzzle.

A version without colors, I think, may or may not help.

A monosubstitution does not have to replace letters with other letters. It can replace them with numbers.

2 1 7 might be a straight forward substitution for Bag for instance.

It can also replace it with characters.

   .

Could be a substtution for

The Hills have Eyes.

See, the colors do matter.
So this tells us that possibly letters come in 3x3 grids.
Also, his image is

Well so I see letters in the grid Fal, but honestly I'm not seeing how that makes Q XD

I don't think there is a Q in there anywhere, so apparently we're meant to figure out what the patterns mean by ourselves. He said a simple substitution, so let's see....
Actually, I'm going back to Orodalf's black-and-white version. to look it over.
EDIT: Looks like a lot of the squares are rotated from each other. Could be insignificant, or it could be like the Cor-Dem runes.

I think I see a reversed K over there at the bottom just before the H in ho.

Edit:
Hmm...Colours on a computers contains levels of various colours from 0 to 255...We could find these numbers for the colours in the chart...And then substitute the numbers for letters in the way Galrick hinted towards, maybe we'll get something.

Also! The same type of colours have a Hex code or whatever you want to call it, for instance, the blue square in the upper left corner has this Hex code: 191D89*, the green** closest to it has 6DD619.
I don't see why these are as they are, but I'm throwing it out here in hope that some of you can make sense of it.

*The colours being Red - 25, Green - 29 and Blue - 137
** Red - 109, Green - 214 and Blue - 25

Did anyone try rotating or flipping it yet? Also, maybe something will be revealed upon inverting the colours? *shrugs* just throwing out ideas, don't really have time for this now; damn school.

Also, here are the words from the first puzzle. (In no particular order)

http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o133/Xeth-Ban/?action=view¤t=Progress2.jpg
quote:

Vandar
Madder
Amada
Warp
Pra'mithia
Haden
Virin
K'eld
Xilar
Celestia
Naab
Exo
Alorin
V'eld
Warpforce

And finally; did anyone try 'Haden' as they key in the puzzle where they keyword was the Viren leader?

Observe that kuld!

And then look at this.

Look at it long enough and you will "See" what we in the irc discovered. (nick and clyde and them discovered it, but went to bed. your's truly is trying to de-code it now!)

Wait, wasn't it stated that the colours in the "Helper" mattered? Also, unless the coloured/black cells in the helper represent the white spots, and the white cells in the helper represent the yellow ones, I can't see any connection.

if your looking....oh just come onto the irc mystery. it'd be easier to explain there!

Oh and before I forget.

After spending over an hour or so of looking. I've located these in the top row.

hi, F4(or possibly Y)PHU

IRC seems to be blocked here at school, and I have stuff that I need to do anyways. Managed to find "hi" as well as soon as you mentioned it being there, so I am guessing the white cells in the helper equals the yellow squares in the Rubik font.

I've deciphered the first row already, two points of notice. 1. The words are crushed together.
and 2. You need to space them apart in order to tell what they are.

Maybe you should fill out the squares that forms letters as you find them? You know, just in case it is needed or something.

(first of all, could a mod or archknight delete the top one of these two posts that are above me please? I'm tired and sick and I made a mistake and I didn't realize it until too late and I can't find the delete button right now. thank you!)

I think. what's best for now, kuld my friend.

Is "focus" on these hidden words first.

If we had need, of the actual other words currently, I'd say fill them in. But there's just 3 problems with that.

1. we don't know how or where to begin there. 2. we would be seemingly(for the time being) ruining our chances of solving the hidden parts by adding more "words" to the mix and confusing ourselves. and 3. Mr.Falerin has put his proverbial foot down and will not be assisting us in this particular puzzle any, longer!

So before we get distracted, and confused, just try working out what you can see. Btw, there's 2 x's and a y in the message as well as a Q.

Not fill in more words - just fill the squares that forms the letters with a colour such as red to make it easier to see for other people or whatever. :P
