@Pyromancer - Since, I'm too lazy to find a quote, I'll just try and explain this.

AQ and WP run off the same engine, and at the moment, to access Beta you log in with your AQ Guardian Account Info.
See where I'm going with this? It would've taken longer for them to work out the kinks with the accounts, we probably would all have had to wait a few more weeks to get Beta, and the game would've been released already. From what I understand anyway.
