Blessed with a Curse

Men have not stood alone as the legendary heroes and leaders, as the influence of women in Lore's history has been quite strong. Even now, Lore is being shaped by men and women alike. One woman in particular is playing a very significant role, and the outcome of her struggle could change the fate of not only a region, but likely a whole continent, and maybe even the world. That woman is Cenera, now also known as Gracefang.
Cenera's family has had a part to play throughout Darkovia's history. Recent scholarly expeditions have revealed that her grandfather, known both as Erimus and Wolfwing, was there to see the Darkovia as we know it being born. Her father spread the family's influence further under the dreaded name Nightbane. Her brother, though, has been fighting the creatures of the dark for years. She has quite the family legacy.
When Cenera first stepped onto the scene, she was a young woman and her role was very small. She was found hiding in an old abbey, helping to protect it. There was no way anyone would guess how much that would change. It wasn't even her own actions that would bring her to the forefront of current events, it was her ambitious and greedy half-brother, Donovan. His attack upon the castle of the deceased Nightbane inadvertently led to granting her the very power he was seeking.
She didn't have much choice in the matter; the power was thrust upon her without warning. That being the case, her resolve has been quite admirable. She has not only accepted her new dracopyric curse, she has utilized it as a weapon against Donovan, and any force of Darkovia that threatens the weak. Even now, she is the leader of the Darkovian resistance and shaping the history of Lore. Whether she fails or succeeds in her endeavors against her half-brother, she has forever left her mark on Darkovia.
