Grief

How you lay upon your stone,
So cold,
So sad,
But true.
I envy your tears:
The fake,
The dry.
A lost lover?
A forgotten friend?
How I long for your weeping,
My Angel of Grief.

I stand
On the brink
Of Death,
Of the Abyss.
And suddenly,
I understand everything.
I turn to tell you,
But find darkness.
Darkness ahead.
Darkness behind.
Trying to become everything,
I've become nothing.

Warmth

Your touch, so present.
Your blood, so full of life.
Your eyes so bright.
Your lips so warm.
Your skin, so beautiful
Now?
Your touch...its gone.
Your blood...its necrotic.
Your eyes...they're dull.
Your lips...so cold.
Your skin...so pale.

What happened?

I've cried for you,
Died for you,
Sinned for you,
Betrayed for you.

But you still aren't happy?
Just take my heart,
Because it's all I have left.
You don't want it?
You're too late.
It's out,
And bleeding.
And I'm screaming,
Waiting,
Patiently,
For Death's sweet embrace.

In such a fast paced world,
I can only go as fast
As the person
In front of me.

And try to not slip,
Trip,
Or fall behind.

You don't want me.
No one does.
Well, here's news for you:
No one wants you,
No one loves you,
No one trusts you.
I've given up hope.
So let the rivers flow,
And let the fires roar.
I've given up hope,
I want to breathe no more.

Wildfire,
Spreads across the land.
A hero fallen,
A family dead.
The continuous war
Fills everyone with dread.
A new hero,
To vanquish the blaze.
A new enemy,
Rises from the Haze.

My heart's wide open,
Waiting for your touch.
Waiting.
I'm falling,
Forever and ever.
I'm drowning,
waiting for you.
I'm dead,
You hesitated.

Pulled to the dark side of the mirror,
Taunted by temptation.
Surrounded by the hate and sorrow,
Looking out at the love and joy,
You realize something:
The mirror has a dark side.

And you took it for granted.

I'll hide it under my sleeve.
It'll be a beautiful picture,
Based on a pretty dream.

I'll take that picture,
I'll give it to a friend.
I'll burn that picture,
Wishing our friendship would end.

I'll take that picture,
Brand it in my chest.
And with that picture,
I'll be laid to rest.

I'll love that picture,
Hold it near my heart.
I'll cry for that picture,
I was wrong from the start.

I'll color in the picture
And give it to a friend
We'll hold that picture close,
Holding back our tears.

I'll save that picture,
Faded by the years.
I'll never lose that picture,
Even in the end.

Yellow is the sun,
Overly bright as always.
Under a tree I would wait,
Ready to accept you back.
Even when you didn't return,
Now that you never want to,
Or maybe you can't?
The point is, you're gone.
Healing with time, my wounds went.
Every day is another cut.
Really, why did you leave?
Everything went out with you.

I am a person who loves to draw,
Even if I mess up.
I am a person who never fit in,
Even if i didn't want to.
I am a person who loves to write,
Even though it doesn't go well.
I am a person who no one notices,
Even though they never did.
I am a person who cries when a pet dies,
Even if it was just a goldfish.
I am a person who cherishes every moment,
Even if no one is there to see it.
I am a person who searches for the light,
Even if there are shadows all around.

The Girl

The girl sits,
Alone,
Reading poetry.
She is surrounded
By people
Who consider her
Their friends.

The girl sits,
Alone.

Tree

In the middle of a forest,
In the middle of nowhere,
There stands a small maple.
It is struggling to grow,
Pressed in by larger trees.

In a small grove,
Outside a small town,
There stands a large maple.
It towers around the rest,
With no competition.

On the side of a small street,
In downtown New York,
There is an ancient maple.
It withers,
And dies.
