 @jon_snow, i think rare collectors see rares as a treasure in a way and therefore feel inclined to keep them even though some or most of the items that they have are far below their level or are actually any use to them. When i had a load of rares they were at least 50 levels below mine but i still used some of them as they were fun to use and even some rares now, still hold some level of usability mainly because of their abilities. Take Anthracite Coal Armour for example, its around the level 80, 90 mark if i'm not mistaken but i still use it on a regular basis due to its trigger that it receives on sustaining a certain amount of damage if hit by one of the required elements that is listed in the Pedia.

Another reason for rare collecting is a trophy of some sorts Digi. For example my Dragonfang Scimitar is a trophy from a war quite a while ago that was remade into the Dracomancer Saga. Even though there's a Z-Token version I consider mine to be a trophy of events long gone.

Most of my weapons are Rares. Because I find them more interesting than the current "standard". I mean, would you rather right off a hoard of Vampires with a high powered monster. Or, with a giant Pumpkin Enforcer with glowing eyes and a head that removes itself from its body and chomps down on the enemy. Though there are a few exceptions. Like that owl for my light pet or the level 100 water weapon for its 14% bth.

 Wouldnt one of the best rare's ever be the Mana Scepter?

24 mp per minute means you basically have unlimited mp if you afk.

People who had it long since quit though...
