Chapter 1 - Father and Son

Beyond the sight of normal humans lies an arid wasteland, purged by evil and forgotten by mankind. Hell, a terrible place filled with evil creatures willing to do anything to achieve their needs. The giant columns of molten rock, the incredible sight of the red sky, the many eyes watching you from wherever you are, every single corner of this land is full of sights that the ordinary can not stand. Blood and limbs litter the ground, building an exhibit of death that spreads out for miles. A place more frightening than the greatest war battles mankind ever saw.

This world is full of hatred, gathered through generations and generations of demons, demons who possess not only impressive battle skills, but they also posess a bloody mind. And when I say bloody, I mean REALLY bloody. All they seek is glory and blood spilled. What a fearful thought... And even worse, the Devil who holds this land under his iron will, is beyond corrupted. The land, despite its appearing, was once a "hell of a jolly place" I must say. Kind demons were ruling the land together with the Devil, who rarely spoke, less that he showed his horned face to the public. He was a kind ruler, but something happened. Something that changed the land. Despite the humans' impressive skills in gathering information, they do not know anything about this world. Their mistake.

I have never been in this land. No, I have not. I am telling you what I know from a traveler. A lonely, masked character with whom I speak of those times... The times when a demon stood for our kind! And so it began...

One day the Emperor decided to escort the King, the Devil himself, to a strange unknown place, full with dark energies. At that point, the king should have decided what to do with the place, which was then saw as a creepy cave, without going into it. Yet, as stubborn as always, the Devil wanted to make sure that none of his people were in there suffering. So he went inside it.

What came out of that cave... Was no King... The kind ruler with a gentle voice vanished. An angry, frightening and evil ruler came out. On the outside, the same body. On the inside, a rotten soul. A vengeful force had taken control over him. His reasons were unknown, same for what he had seen or experienced in that cave. But it changed him. He killed the Emperor and his Loyal Commanders, scorching the land with hatred towards humanity. Why this sudden hate for mankind, why this vengeance on his people? Nobody knew.

Crime and thievery were allowed, and criminals from all over Hell came to his kingdom, requesting to be the Devil's personal army. The Corrupted King was undecided. So he wanted to test the new army by making them battle with his old one. In respect for the once good King, the royal army didn't fight back, they just defended. Some of them escaped and ran, but most were killed for their loyalty.

With the new army, the King could finally destroy the world he hated so much. The Human World. But he couldn't risk the angels from heaven to team up with the humans. No... It would be a big mistake. And such, the devil decided to attack and destroy Heavens, land of purity and divinity, first.

The Heavens understood their plan and stood against them for countless years, both sides losing men. But the Devil didn't care. He had his fun and could continue it for ages if needed.

After another couple of years, the King got bored and decided to let the angels alone and to rampage the human world! The humans had no idea whatsoever of what would come because of this.

The Devil had an only son, Marcus. Standing tall with a steady look in his eyes, Marcus was courageous and kind, surely not like his father. In the past, the young lad's golden hair had earned him a nickname, Blondie.

After so many years of not knowing the truth something that will change the continuation of our story happened. Marcus was sent by his dad to pick up some sowrds from a Blacksmith shop. The owner of the shop was no other than the former captain of the King's Royal Army, one of the few survivors of those days.

"Hello, Marcus! Came to pick up those new shiny swords haven't 'ya?" the blacksmith said smiling.

"Yes, old friend! Indeed, I have. Oh and I have thought of something," Marcus said while grabbing the swords.

"I would be glad to hear your thoughts! Is it about that new girl in town?" the old man said with a funny smile.

"Oh no! No, not that..." Marcus said while blushing a little. "I wanted to ask you, what were you before becoming a renowned blacksmith, Vah?" he continued with a serious look.

"Oh well... Do you think you can withstand the truth?" the blacksmith whispered.

"I-I think," the young lad hesitated, slightly heading his eyes into the ground.

"I was a stripper for the Royal Club!" the blacksmith said, laughing.

"A whaaat?" Marcus yelled, his eyes widening. His yelling was so loud that even the birds outside flew away in fear.

"Ki..dding! He he," Vah grinned and moved his hand over the boy's head messing his hair.

"Oh, oh. Now seriously, Vah, tell me!" Marcus said while recovering from the joke.

"I was the captain of your father's royal army." In a blink of an eye, Vah's expression turned serious and rather sad.

"But, but..."

"Shhh! Let me explain," Vah interrupted, pointing Marcus to sit on a chair nearby, telling him the rest of the story.

After a few hours of talking, Marcus finally knew the truth about the past of his father.

"That bastard! I am going to kill him for this!" Marcus said while leaving the swords behind and jumping on his horse back to the castle.

Vah didn't even try to stop him. He knew it was useless because as stubborn as he was nothing could stop him in this situation.

Angry as he was, he rushed through the palace gates, through the big and crystal-like hallways and directly to the throne room. The guards outside denied Marcus' entering.

"Sorry kid, but your father isn't accepting visits right now," one of the guards said.

"Move away!" Marcus said while cutting one of the guards' head.

The other guard ran away in fear, allowing Marcus to enter. He found his father on the throne, thinking. He was on a gold throne covered with black jewels and thorns all over. The room was empty, except for the red carpet Marcus was standing on.

"Father! You lied to me!" Marcus said furiously.

"I lied? How dare you to barge into my room while I am relaxing and accuse me of lying!" his father said while standing up from his throne. The sheer aggression and force that came from the Devil could be seen just by looking into his eyes, and more by looking at his huge, tall and powerful body. The shadow of the Devil covered Marcus like a million arrows cover the sun... The scene was horrible; poor Marcus didn't have any chance to control his emotions at that time.

"What happened, my son? Are you afraid of me?" the Devil said laughing.

I... I can't say anything. Why am I so scared? Why? Marcus thought.

"Are you ready to be punished?" his father shouted.

"N-No father..." Marcus replied with a low voice, slowly grasping his belt trying to gain courage, thinking of what the Blacksmith went through and what he told him.

"What did you say?" the Devil asked with an angered voice.

"I said no! You should be the one to be punished! After all you did in the past and present, you are the one who deserves punishment!" Marcus said while pulling out his daggers.

"Oh, so you are finally a man. To bad your life will go to waste." his father said while raising his hand.

"I will destroy you, even if that costs me my life!" Marcus shouted.

Angered, Marcus dashed at his father with his daggers, stabbing him tens of times.. But.. The Devil had no scratch on him! It was clear that Marcus had no chance whatsoever. With a sweep of his hand, the Devil thrown Marcus into the wall. His strength was unbelievable! Yet, he lacked knowledge. Thinking that his son was killed, he ordered his servants to throw him in the Demonic Volcano.

And so the servants took his semi-inconstient body and traveled to the Demonic Volcano. As one of their rituals, the body should be thrown and should not be looked at. A very big mistake.

After thrown in the volcano, Marcus managed to regain consciousness and saved himself from a fiery death by hanging on to a rock.

Blissfully oblivious to the fact that their victim was still alive, the servants left, happy to report to their master.
