Olive Stipes Resolved The Laws and Customs of War The first three stories in this collection I wrote for my creative writing midterm (if my teacher is as critical of me as I am, I will probably fail the midterm. Thankfully, she's not). The prompts were quote:
Three short pieces, 2 1/2 to 3 pages apiece, 1.5 spaced. Fiction, on the following topics/starting points: 1. A story about waiting. 2. Write a winter holiday story that is not a Hallmark-esque tearjerker/sappy lovefest. This is hard to do. It may be only tangentially related to the holidays, and should be unique. 3. A story in which something is lost. The reason I entitled this groups of short stories (and all other short stories less than five pages that I will write in the future) "A Rush of Inspiration" is because the stories tend to be rushed and somewhat cliche. Keep that in mind as you read through these really short stories.
