I poise myself as quietly as I can, holding every part of my body as perfectly still as I can. Muscles tense, ready to jump at the first moment that I can. Adrenaline making my senses more acute then they are at any other given time. I pounce, launching my entire weight at my target, teeth bared. I land with a slight thump, smacking my prey against the nearest surface that is accessible. I take a closer look to my target, and find that it was nothing worth putting so much effort into trying to kill. I quickly turn, running down a corridor. As I get to a place that I feel is safe, in this jungle, I stop to wash myself. Trying to find a way to calm down, I see an area of drinkable water. I slowly make my way to it, and begin to drink from it. When I drink my fill, I look around to remember where exactly this spring is located. As I do so, I find a small pile of rations, and eat my fill from that as well. I scale my way up to a higher ground, and gain bearings of my new surroundings. I see no threats to my life, as I look around at the land I am now stuck living in. This jungle is covered in many places from where I can watch the ground, and see the creatures from afar, without interacting directly. These... things are still new to me, and scare me when they come pounding towards me. After I look about, I jump down and find a safe spot to lay, knowing I will know they are here before they know where I am. I begin to nap, gaining as much energy as I can before they come back to the area I am located at. *~*~* I feel the ground vibrate as they begin to enter into my safe haven, I bolt behind one of the many objects located on the ground level. As I do so, these creatures begin making odd calls, I feel they are towards me, but I continue to hide where I have put myself. Letting instinct take over, I feel my adrenaline begin to take effect on my body and my senses. One of the creatures begins moving what I'm hiding behind, and I dive underneath it. Crawling my way to the other side, the side they are not looking for me on. I bolt as soon as I have the room to do so, my hair standing on end. I take a quick turn and run down the same corridor I found before, seeing a new path to my left, I jump over a few objects laying in my way. Stopping to regain my bearings again, I see an area with much higher ground then I have found before. Relaxing and tensing my muscles, I make a jump to scale my way up to this higher ground. The pounding continues, with more calls from the creatures that have apparently captured me. I make my way and corner myself in. Hoping that they won't be able to come from behind. But I see something, something slowly twitching and moving out of my view. I crawl forward and continue watching it more, letting my body tense and relax again, but not for the purpose of running this time. This time, my body does this for the purpose of making a kill. I jump at it from my higher ground, teeth bared again, I land and grab it trying to make sure that it dies a quick death, for my survival. But just as I begin the final stages of the kill, a shadow appears around me, I look up and see one of these creatures reaching for me, I try scaring it off, but it just keeps coming at me, lifting me up. The creatures moves me down the corridor I was in before, we reach the end of it, and this thing sits on one of the structures I was hiding behind before. As it sits, it slowly caresses me, relaxing all of my muscles. This time making much softer noises towards me, and I return what it's expressing the best I can with a long purr. Man, this thing knows how to treat a cat.
