Rhapsus in E Minor
Quest Location: The Bridge
Quests Given From: Admiral Amada
Requirements: Level 15
Amada: We've received yet another call for help! This time it's an SOS call from a desolate unnamed planet in the Epsilon Minor system. It appears to be Silari rebels who have left the Network and are now on our side.
Amada: Pick someone to go with your on this mission-- They're Silari Drakel, most of whom have long been under the Network's influence. I don't think we can trust them 100 percent. Good luck, WarpForcer!
GO TO E. MINOR!
Who will you take with you on this mission?
No one-- Go by yourself
You launch a fighter from the Alteon, followed by a pair of scoutships.
«You»: Scouts, deploy and recon the system!
The scoutships leave
«You»: Alteon, this is Fighter 929 reporting in. I'm approaching Epsilon Minor's only remaining planet....
You approach the planet through a large number of asteroids
«You»: It looks like all the others were smashed to bits a long time ago.
You arrive on the surface and find a ship.
«You»: I've found the Silari ship. Hmm.. basic life support functions appear to be working. There's no radio contact, however.
«You»: Hopefully these rebels are still alive. I'm sure we can help each other!
There is a hail of gunfire.
«You»: Whoa!! I'm being shot at! It's an ambush!!
Full Heal after 2nd and 3rd battles
Another Silari enters
«You»: I'm from the LSS Alteon, responding to your vessel's SOS call! We broadcast our identity-- Why did your warriors attack us??!
Kuvak: I am Kuvak of Lore. Long ago my Drakel brethren left our homeworld to travel among the stars with the Network. Many of us have been stardwellers for centuries!
Kuvak: You think I would let some puny, thin-skinned homeworlder SAVE me??
«You»: But you said you were rebels!! So you're NOT fighting against the Network??
Kuvak: I say what I must to survive. You came here with your ship, and now I will leave here with TWO ships... My own and yours! It will fetch a fair price.
«You»: You're a thief... A common thief! You'd better hope your lockpicking skills are trained up for when I toss you in the Alteon's BRIG!!
Kuvak: Tsk. I'm an UNcommon theif, thank you. Common thieves wouldn't have a member of the WarpForce at their mercy.
Kuvak: Besides, I was locked up once before. Chewed my own arm off to escape. Ended up with this sweet cybernetic replacement. Every cloud has a silver lining, eh?
Kuvak: Now, time for you to take a dirt nap...
Kuvak stand bent over.
Kuvak: We'll meet again someday, I promise you that... And when we do, I'll steal the very shirt off your back!
«You»: There are a number of awful puns I could say right now involving the word 'shirt', but I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. And you, my friend, are nowhere near my worst enemy.
Kuvak runs off.
«You»: He just ran away. Must have been the threat of 'pun'-isment.
Cut to Kuvak
Kuvak: .... I can't believe I was bested by a homeworlder!
Another figure lands in front of him.
Kuvak: Not another one!! Go back to your other homeworlder friends and leave me alone!
???: *click click click* HEHE. YOU DON'T KNOW ME, BUT I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER ME.
Kuvak: I said get outta my way! My robot arm is bigger than yours!!
Kuvak launches himself at the figure, who dodges and throws him back. Kuvak pulls out his gun and aims, only to have it blasted out of his hands by something that comes back to hit him several times. He jumps again, but the figure grabs his mechanical arm and breaks it. Kuvak lands on his back, his eyes bulging.
???: *click* IT APPEARS I HAVE DISARMED YOU, KUVAK OF LORE. ALLOW ME TO FORMALLY INTRODUCE MYSELF. I AM RHAPSUS OF PURGOS.
Kuvak's eyes recede.
Rhapsus: AND I AM A BOUNTY HUNTER.
Kuvak: Ugh... That makes sense. I am a wanted man...
Rhapsus: *click click* GET MOVING. WE'RE TAKING YOUR SHIP OUT OF HERE.
Kuvak keels over.
Rhapsus: *click* ........... WHY ME??
Rhapsus comes to you, dragging Kuvak by his tail.
«You»: Hold on, Rhapsus! I saw everything. Kuvak and his goons sent a fake distress call to lure me here and try to steal my ship.
Rhapsus: THEN YOU SHOULD *click* BE GLAD TO BE RID OF HIM.
«You»: Who paid you to track him down and bring him in? Was it Dark Madder?
Rhapsus: HEHE. THAT WITCH HAS NO NEED FOR BOUNTY HUNTERS. BESIDES, IT IS SCIENCE THAT MADE ME UNDEAD, NOT MAGIC.
«You»: That gun you fired at Kuvak looked pretty special to me... Are you sure THAT wasn't magic??
Rhapsus: *click click* I AM VERY SURE. *click* MY GUN USES THE NOTORIOUSLY DEADLY SYMBIOTE AMMUNITION. MAYBE YOU'VE HEARD OF IT?
Rhapsus: ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE PROTEAN BLACK MARKET. BULLETS CAST OUT OF PROTUS SYMBIOTE ARE SEMI-SENTIENT AND STRIKE THEIR TARGET REPEATEDLY--
Rhapsus: *click* -- BY CHANGING THEIR COURSE MID-FLIGHT. THEY EVEN RETURN TO THE GUN'S CHAMBER AND RECHARGE OF THEIR OWN ACCORD. QUITE AMAZING.
«You»: ..... Just don't point it at me. Now, back to the matter at hand. I believe Kuvak belongs in MY custody. Hand him over.
Rhapsus: OVER MY UNDEAD BODY.
«You»: He got away! And took Kuvak with him!
Rhapsus lands on the Silari ship and meets Erith.
Rhapsus: *click click click* YOU... *click*
Erith: Oh, Rhapsus... how I missed your rotten stench. You really should get your machinery checked... I think it needs a tune-up.
Rhapsus: THIS BOUNTY'S MINE, LITTLE GIRL.
Erith: I just had to take out a huge load to repair my ship, cowboy. I need some extra gold. Now stand aside before I use my VBG Fusion Rifle on you.
Rhapsus: YOU STILL *click* OWE ME FOR THE TIME I SPARED YOUR LIFE WHEN WE FOUGHT OVER THAT SPACE SNEEVIL WITH THE 'BLACK HOLE IN A BOX' BUSINESS.
Erith: I don't owe anyone anything!
Erith blasts Rhapsus, but he jumps away.
Erith: No way!! Did he just RUN AWAY?!?
There are some electrical sounds and the ship moves.
Erith: He WOULDN'T... Not with me on it! Grrr...
Erith uses her rifle to blast off of the ship, which starts to lift off.
«You»: Rhapsus is taking off! And it looks like Erith is after him, too! This is a good chance for me to slow down 2 bounty hunters who might be searching for Trinni... I have to take it!
The Silari ship takes off, followed by Erith's. The two fire on each other, and you add some blasts from your fighter, knocking both offscreen.
«You»: Admiral, I'm happy to report that two bounty hunters and a thief had a very bad day today...

Rhapsus' Gun Z
Good work, WarpForcer! We are not having much luck with answering these distress calls lately. The legitiamte all from the Dwarfs only led us to finding them long-dead, and now this call turned out to be a trap.
I can't help but think that there is some kind of connection between the two. So far everything is pointed at the asteroid belt-protected space fortress called Haven as a major source of our problems. And this 'Rhapsus' bounty hunter wasn't working directly for the Network either. I think Haven should be your next stop...
Thanks to Rhowena
