@Dwelling Dragonlord - Captain Rhubarb is on the AE team as in he works on multiple games at once, easiest way to confirm this is to look at the recent release of the corn field that was released by Captain Rhubarb, this confirms that he is still working on the estates. It produces <blank> (artifacts) for every day we have it, and since we can use this resource once the stat trainers get their added functionality to upgrade rares the museum getting a counter for those <blank> (artifacts) is pointless since we would not be able to use them. So to summarize it the museums function is to produce <blank> (artifacts) it currently does so passively, the building everyone is really waiting for is the stat trainers to get their added functionality to upgrade rares to make use of said resources.

If it was me I would rather be hyped up about the stat trainer with the added rare upgrade functionality, now that is something to be overly eager and excited about, something really worthy of discussion but I guess some people really get off on seeing an ever increasing resource counter that cannot be used until another building gains a function.

@Ghengis: Okay, here's the deal. I don't really care what happens to the Museum as of now, since I know Captain Rhubarb is being swamped with work and the Estates are but a pet project of his like Paxia. I simply want this pointless discussion come to and end.

I respect the Captain for his hard work and I know how frustrating code can be, experimental design is the most fun to work on.
In the current situation however, I can see newer players come to the forums and rekindle the old discussion over and over again.
With the limited spare time the Captain has however, he does this project in his spare time, it would be best to remove the Museum from the shop till it can get the praise it deserves. And who knows, perhaps then these pointless discussions will finally come to an end.

^ Removing it would be pointless the reason it was placed in the estate shop was so that people would get the chance to have it upgraded and ready before its function was released and so that people can enjoy the pretty graphics. People will continue complaining regardless if it exists or not even new players can find it on the house estate list or read through this thread, or see a comment about the museum and rare upgrading features an can start asking about it. Archmage is not yet released and wont be until it's 100% ready but the preview of it like the preview of the updated wizard class will be out before Archmage will be released, in comparison just think of the museum in its current incarnation as the preview and the completed form once it's released as the final product.

Discussing the rare upgrade system that will be added to the stat trainers isn't pointless since it is fun speculating how the system can come about and what items may be upgradeable.

I want to have this system in DF.

But on another note, is it just me or is a lot of it lots of Z Tokens? It just seems a bit annoying. is there a reason for this?

I'm so glad the staff knows what its fan base prefers and whats good for us. How about they do an official poll so that they can actually here what we have to say. I also suggest they put a link in the game so that they aren't just hearing what the forumites have to say. AE keeps releasing games while their original game is falling apart and no one seems to care or realize it.

@megakyle: money. It's all about the money, obviously.

I actually enjoy the estate system right now despite the Z-Token cost because they not really an integral part of the story. It is, much like it's nature as a side project, something you do on the side - not the main reason for playing AQ (good storylines, bad puns, etc.). Now if this system was mandatory for the full enjoyment of the game I would be pretty ticked off right about now, but since it isn't, I'm okay with it.

Besides, Z-Tokens - although stupidly difficult to acquire unless you watch at least five Ballyhoo videos a day and farm like a complete maniac - are at least mildly OBTAINABLE in-game. In DF, AQW, and MQ, the only way to acquire them is through Ballyhoo, giving AQ a little bit more leeway on how many items they can choose to make Z-Token purchasable.

Funny thing about that, Lord Sauron. There actually was a poll about that in the past. People said that they'd rather wait for it to be implemented than for it to be removed and/or given some novelty function. Just because you have an opinion about something, it does not necessarily mean your opinion is the same as that of the majority, and given public opinion on other matters in recent times... I'd say that your opinion is still that of the minority.

In the past . So , a long time ago , maybe ?
How about a newer one that can update peoples patience. They may have been more patient then.
I for one am tired of waiting . If this site generates money , and I know I have paid a tiny bit of that money . How about investing in more people to do the things they say they are planning to do .
Or not keep coming up with all these new and grandiose plans, and lets get some of the things done they mentioned first .

The poll stated what a large number of people thought... If public opinion was as you stated EvilBill666 and lord sauron then there would be a large amount of people complaining... All I can see is 2-3 people demanding the museum to be removed or given a novelty function and trying to pass that off as the general public opinion...

The poll stated what alot of people thought at the time. Again , possibly , an outdated opinion ? My point , which you either didnt get or ignored was peoples thoughts/opinions change based on new information .
So because people dont speak up , everyone is happy ?
I am not stating that a majority of people think this or that . I merely stated what I think .

I've gone through about three pages of posts dating back about six weeks cleaning up inappropriate content in this thread. If you have a lot chunk of your posts missing, there's a good chance you were doing something wrong, and you should reconsider the sort of content you have been putting in your posts.

Players are permitted to constructively defend or criticize the handling of museums. They are also permitted to share their opinions (within reason). They are also entitled to interpret technicalities and other fine details differently than you do. We don't need this thread overrun by name-calling, disrespect, or self-aggrandizing over differences in opinion. If you need to, have someone read your post aloud before submitting it. If you aren't sure if a post you are about to make is appropriate, contact an AK/mod before posting.

Pfft hahaha!

I just remembered, wouldn't be nice to make a small fix for the mega world portal if possible?
When there is a war and you have the option to send half army then it would be nice to not have it reset every single time you send an army, this clicking drives me mad and I can't be alone, right?

Would also be nice to make the guards more effective when sending them from the guard tower, I expect my nerfkitten level 130 to shred monsters more easily than summoning an army from another planet or dimension, logically it
should consume less resources to send my guards than an army from somewhere in space, at the moment it is the opposite.
Would also be nice to be able to pick the exact guards you want to send to a war. :)

About the museum and its supposed function to upgrade rares, I am not sure if I am looking forward to such feature unless you could upgrade your rares to the current level cap and not to the highest version of that particular item.
With that being said it would be necessary include crisp numbers from the KoO and also let them work on the upgrade system with Captain Rhubarb, I can only see this happen when the KoO decides to sweep all weapons in AQ, which is probably one of the most daunting tasks to be done by the KoO, well except from sweeping all monsters.

Regarding the inconvenience of sending Half Armies:

*) If you are sending 8 Rep Half Army to get the most efficient results, 7 Rep Full Army actually seems to be as good or better of an option (I had a p-value around ~0.02 in the 7 Rep Full Army's favor), so you may as well just use that option instead. It'll avoid the clicking issues you are having.

*) It would make more sense if the stronger reputation actually helped defeat more war waves instead of less. "Fixing" that behavior should not just alleviate any desire to send more than one Half Army, but it would cut down the clicking for sending armies by about 80%.

I expect the MWP to remain a more efficient option for defeating war waves than the Guard Tower. Players have to invest 6000 Tokens to use a MWP (1500 for a Small World Portal, 4500 for the Mega World Portal), and the MWP has no other function. The Guard Tower only costs 1000 Tokens and still manages to have two functions: protecting the Estate properties *and* defeating war waves.

Not sure how it decreases the clicking if I lower my reputation from 8 to 7, does the send full army option vanish?
I want the option to remain for sending half an army, as soon as I have sent one half army it gets reset to send a full army and this is what I would like to be fixed.

Yes it would make sense with better reputation and maybe it will get fixed one day?

It is true that it has two functions but you will have to be crazy to send armies using the Guard Tower unless you don't have the Mega World Portal. I still think that my nerfkitten which costs 15000 z-tokens plus a guard tower should be a bit more effective, it doesn't have to be better than the Mega World Portal, just better than now.

I am not sure if you have both MWP and the Guard Tower, but if you have tried to send your guards then it ends up to be very expensive and not effective at all in comparision of sending an army from the MWP.
The resources for sending GT army vs. MWP army is not even close to being balanced and that is my only argument. :)
We can of course speculate how big an army is which we summon from another dimension is vs. my guards which is currently 37 guards.

Actually, it's the exact opposite --- the half army option vanishes, as it's not possible to send half rep 7
(full rep 7 or half rep 8 is the bare minimum to send armies).

I see and it would cost the same as sending half an army with rep 8? :)

Thanks etching!

Yeah both half rep 8 and full rep 7 cost the same and have the same amount of power.
Although you get more kills on each attempt with higher level reps, the consensus opinion
is that you get the most bang for the buck sending half rep 8 (or full rep 7) than a higher rep.

Ya know, I've decided something. So long as the museum gets a function before christmas of this year I'll be happy, no matter what that function is. After that point though I'll have wasted three years with it and almost nothing it could possibly do could really make up for that.

Here is how to send your half armies fast:

1. Send your first wave the way you usually do.
2. Hover your mouse over the SEND button
3. Hold DOWN ARROW on a keyboard (DO NOT release)
4. Keep clicking with your mouse.

I did this i 5 or 6 wars so far, and apparently noone have seen my message

^ Considering that 8 Rep Half Army is no better than 7 Rep Full Army, there is no real advantage for bothering with Half Armies.

Right, I think he's speaking to those of us who have both paintings. He's not suggesting that you move the selection from half to full in that manner. He's saying that you move from an automatic selection of Trescol to that of Kairula. That's how I send my armies, as does Rander, apparently. It works rather well

Today I got curious how much my estate is worth since it's been ages since something bigger was released.
Upon checking I discovered it was worth 70572 tokens, which is a shocking difference from the 20 000 I paid.
The only reason I haven't sold it yet to cash some of those tokens is the lower weakly increase from the cheaper version.
At least I think those who bought the 20 000 version get 200 tokens a week, while those who bought the 16 000 version only get 160.

Now since I made a 50 000 profit so far, I'm wondering how they're going to compensate for the token influx since I'm not the only one.
Originally I was thinking those underground plots/option to buy extra land/even larger estates/more items (like the barn which has been in progress for about 3 years now I think) but that doesn't seem to plausible anymore.

That is a nice profit .......... but only if you actually sell your house. I sold mine at 50K and used the profit to buy a few house guards.
By the time the extra plots of Underground Land are made available I will probably have the same amount of profit to spend.

Good luck with that 200 tokens per week.

I'm currently earning about 320 per week per character, from houses and ballyhoo

i've had my museum for about 2 years now. :)
Hope the aq staff can release new estate items this year.

Is it worth getting nerfkkitten scion,
or is it just for bragging rights?
