Well, to get to my point, when an AK or Mod/Admin. locks a thread wouldn't it be best if there was a 'locked' image to signify that the topic is locked.... or something similar would do.
It would really help to know that a topic is locked before you click on the thread. =) Nothing dramtic, but I can't see why it can't happen. Thoughts?

There is one, it looks like this:
Unlocked threads have this icon next to them:

I've notice that image here and there. But what I meant is for a lock symbol to be on the link of the thread. I'll upload a pic. to show what I mean. =)

Incase the print is too small to read here it is:
quote:

From a instant view, you can clearly see that these two threads are locked. So there won't really be any reason to view them as you won't be able to post there. This helps for those who have a slow connection and to those who usually lags when they enter the forums. I know how it feels to wait for the page to load. With this, it helps you to aviod that. =)

What do say? Can it be enable?

Btw, I took the 'lock' from Ts1 (if you're wondering) :D

Why couldn't members simply access the forum list rather than only going to the most recently posted thread? That way, members can get a comprehensive view of all threads locked in that forum. I can really only see this helping members who only view threads in a forum that are the most recently posted.

It could be done, I'm sure, I just don't see why it should be, as the current forum structure allows members to see what threads are locked anyway.

At first I asked myself: If it's useful and feasible, why not? I've historically noticed that people tend to reject change for the sake of rejecting change. However, I don't think the forums should be adjusted to adapt to people's personal requests ... especially if it's not met with a large demand. It is because of that I do not think this suggestion is worthy of implementation, considering there are one-click alternatives to determine if the thread is locked or not ... and for reasons stated above.

Measures are never rejected simply for the sake of rejecting change. Rather, it would be more appropriate to say that implementing new suggestions takes effort for the limited (both in number and time availability) forum coders. Time that can be spent on other projects. Thus, new implementations are more likely to be more urgent/necessary functions.

This does not mean less necessary functions will never be implemented, just that it's less likely to occur if the new functions aren't much of an improvement over the ones already in place.

If there were no functionality in place to determine what thread is locked, I would agree more with this suggestion. As it stands, however, unless the member frequents only the most recently posted thread in each forum, and ignores all other threads, then the existing function works quite well to inform members which threads are open.

As far as I'm concern the suggestion is legitamite enough that it can be implemented, but the plan does not have to be carry out. It's very helpful to locate what threads are locked and disabled, and it's quite 'eye-catching' but neither way, the suggestion itself was mainly to help those who has trouble with slow internet connection or laggy CPUs when viewing the forums. From visual perspective, seeing a 'lock' symbol means that the topic is lock, decreasing the motivation of going into that thread; ignoring it.

The looks appealing, doesn't it? =)

Let the disccusion end here then, but if you must by all means have anything else to state feel free. So..?
