Now before saying no to this, I would like to say something. NO games company can become truly great unless they take into consideration the complaints and crtisicims of their games. For example, when The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass was announced, there was complaints and constructive critisism about the Main Duengeon and having to play the same bit over and over for no reason. The result? A game where you do not have to repeat the same bit to proceed. People rejoiced.

Now, the AE Team have always said that they are open to constructive critcism. While that may be true, there is no place FOR such criticism. Threads about such things are deleted because there is no place for them to go, therefore such items are hardly ever seen by the team.

Therefore, I would like to suggest a Constructive Complaints and Criticism Sub Fourm be made in each game fourm, so that people can place such things in there. It would cut down on spammy threads not allowed in discussion forums, would give people a chance to place their complaints so AE can see, and would allow them to make better games.

However, there would have to be rules. For example, only threads that are well written and/or have some kind of proof behind them would be allowed. Saying "OMG AE should pat more nom mamb itams in AQW" would not be allowed. Saying "AE should place more non member items in AQW because..." would.

The AE team are always saying that Constrctive criticism is allowed. Let's give it a place to be allowed IN eh?

Threads such as these are acceptable in general discussion, I believe, so long as they do not get out of hand.

I do not think that they are unless a Staff mambers says so. Every time I have made one, it has been deleted. However I may be wrong.

Anyway, such a sub fourm would mean not having lots of them in General Discussion.

We routinely read the General Discussion boards, and deal with the concerns raised in them - we definitely take constructive criticism. For AQ, I can point to this week's release as one where we significantly changed a release based on feedback - this is simply the most recent example I know of. There will be criticism of this choice, and we will follow that criticism as well. (Note: criticism is not the same as complaint.)

The change was the result of a discussion that occurred in the AQ GD board, and belonged there. There's really no need for a separate board for it; indeed, it would not be overstating the case too much for me to say that many of the threads in the General Discussion boards can be seen as constructive criticism threads if you look at them the right way - they are all feedback, and that tells us what parts of the game are well liked and what parts of the game could stand improvement.

One thing to remember is that if there is already a place for something, it goes in that place - for example, if there is something in a release that struck you wrong and there is already a thread for that release, you need to use that thread. This is a common reason for new threads to be deleted. Another reason is that some threads are simply not suited to discussion - for example, ones that lead to flaming or trolling every time they come up, or ones where the original poster does not actually allow for discussion - the point, after all, is discussion, not petition. There are a number of other reasons, as well, and you should have been told why each time a thread you started was deleted.

Nicely said @ Aelthai, but I have seen some good suggestions placed on the AQW board only to be deleted a few seconds later. When I have asked the thread starter why his/her thread got deleted the response was usually a quote from the rules that said "No Suggestions allowed"

I know AQGD does a very very good job at responding to suggestions and feedback as the game staff directly converses with us, and actively looks for our suggestions- whatever it may be.

Now I am not going to say which formula is better since I do not know the AQWGD response to this, but I will say this- the suggestion part of AQWGD is too rigid, well atleast for my taste since I have experienced so much more freedom in other parts of the forum. Whether I have a bad idea, or a good idea, a good comment, or a bad comment, good criticism, or a bad criticism, or just plain anything, I can pretty much guarantee that a game staff member will reply to my idea whether they like the idea or not.

Each game is structured differently - they're different games, with different needs and different people working on them. Automatically that means that we can't structure every game forum the same way. AQ has the Knights of Order which is a group of developers born of the forums, which is why they have their own suggestions forum complete with GBI. AQW is a newer game and it's still getting going in the scheme of things. Right now it's structured to accept the suggestions they're best equipped to handle - that's currently art suggestions. Will they welcome a more general set of suggestions? No one knows yet. But it certainly isn't because they're not interested in your feedback.

Ultimately, what tflo said is correct - the general discussion forums exist solely to give players a place to provide feedback, both negative and positive. If you look through them, you'll find examples of threads that have been noted by staff members themselves as calling attention to serious issues. AE's teams take the feedback offered by their player base very seriously - even if they don't have clearly marked places for it labeled "Criticism here!" they're still interested in what you have to say.

I would just like to say that I tried to make a thread foir general complaints and criticism in the AQW General Discussion.

Guess what? It was deleted.

The AE team does listen to complaints. I never said you did not. However, some complaints are hardly ever seen. For example, I have seen a complaint made about the War In AQW and how there are no non member items or drops. However, any time someone makes a thread about it, it is deleted by an AK. And the post saying such will soon be buried under all the other posts in that thread. And therein lies the problem.

There is already a feedback thread where you may constructively voice your concerns. Even for AQWorlds. However, blatant "complaining" threads are not allowed.

=AQW= Gameplay Feedback Thread
=AQW= PTR/PVP Thoughts and Impressions

Those two threads cover both the two types of Servers on AQWorlds. There should be no need for more threads to be made on such issues.
