I believe letting the forum reset the password for the users with a random 11-letter phrase isn't very convienent and friendly. It should be more like this: First, you click the confirmation email that was sent by the forums. After clicking the link, there should be a window that allows you to change the password to whatever you like. This gives some more flexibility for the users and it doesn't make them struggle to remember a complex password.
The window should have a format of:
Old Password [example1]
New Password [example2]
Confirm New Password [example2]

Thanks to the Artix Entertainment Team!

That's actually if you forget your password. You can go to Profile -> Change your password (it's at the top) -> And it has the exact same format you just said. Hope that helps!

Well, I originally wanted the Forget Your Password? option to have the above format. Thanks for the info, anyway. Nuff said

What ever happened to "copy and paste"? Once you get in, just head straight to the profile change password page...

Well, some forumites are based off an Ipod, or something similar.

These devices offer no copy and paste functions.

There is usually a chance for them to write it down though, correct?

Yes, but that's archaic. As is keeping multiple tabs open, and copying it piece by piece.

He's suggesting a streamlining.

Well, there's two reasons why it's like that.

1) If you click the Forget your Password link, it means you don't know your old password thus making that way ineffective.

2) It is safer to use a randomly generated code so that it is made sure it is really your account.
