Admittedly, anyone who's even gone to the AQW GD has likely seen at least one "trading" discussion, mainly someone asking why it isn't in game, complaining about it, or else suggesting it be put into the game. Both of these are against the rules, but it seems few people read those in there.

I suggest that you put up a FAQ, sticked so that we can actually refer them to somewhere showing what exactly is wrong about those things, beyond the generic rules which can be "resisted" or misunderstood. It would likely contain the original quote from Cysero and Beleen saying that there will not be trading, as well as specifics as to how these threads will be treated, based on what they are mainly doing.

Thank you.

AQW GD's rules are already pretty clear about suggestions not being allowed in it (there is the rule titled "No Suggestions Threads" after all). The users who post suggestions threads, including ones for trading, are likely the same users who aren't reading the stickies to begin with (otherwise they would be aware that suggestions are against the rules), and having too many stickies sometimes intimidates users who might have otherwise read them which I'm not too thrilled about.

*Have something to say about trading? Look here first!*

^ Would that be enough? It's also used as a reference, as I currently have difficulty referring them to the original Cysero quote against trading.
If all that information were in one place, I'm sure it would make things a lot easier on people who have to deal with it, myself.

If you managed to be dense enough not to check a bolded topic about trading, then at the least they'll read their own topic when it's replied to.

Just to add to what phoenixfire has said it is not for you to tell the members what is and what is not allowed to be posted as you are not part of the forum staff. If you do this it is considered min-modding which also breaks the rules. If a thread is posted that is not allowed all you have to do is not post in it and just notify a AK or MOD that works in that section of the forum to deal with it.

Edit : No matter what is stickied to the top of the forum there will always be members that use this forum with blinders on meaning they will just post away with never looking at the pinned threads no matter what. It is just the way it is and it is not going to change. If you stop 5 there will be 10 more new members that join to replace them. It is an ongoing battle that will never end.

Well...
Why is trading not in the game?
Technically, a thread like this does not break any rules, per se, but "Cysero said so" is a bit worthless if I don't have any proof of the sort. In addition, it generally attracts... less than savory players who think this would improve the game.

I just think that some place to show them why it isn't in game, with a quote as proof would be useful. For AK's and the regular players.
quote:

If you stop 5 there will be 10 more new members that join to replace them.

D: I just thought a quicker and easier way to tell them would be useful.

"Why is trading not in the game?" is a question, so it is not allowed in AQW GD. It would normally belong in AQW Q&A except for this FAQ entry which addresses questions that can only be answered by game staff (asking questions answered by the FAQ is against AQW Q&A's rules):

quote:

1. "When will _____ happen?" "When is _____ coming out?" "What is going to happen next !?" "Is _____ going to be released?" "Will _____ go rare?"
-------We don't know. AQW typically has new releases on Fridays, but there's no guarantee that something will be released on a particular Friday. So only the AQW staff know what will happen at each new release, unless they announce the release -- in which case, you'd know about it, too.

The rules cover both questions and suggestions regarding trading pretty well. Making another sticky specifically for this one issue doesn't solve the underlying problem of people ignoring the stickies when they post these threads, and creates clutter on the first page that can intimidate new members who might otherwise read the stickied threads and quickly push non-stickied discussion threads off of first page.

"We don't know" hardly sounds like a reason why trading isn't in the game. >_>
I'm just suggesting that we add something to one of the rules that has to do with trading, and why not to ask about it specifically. Maybe streamline the process a bit for the AK's, add a new number to that FAQ, whatever the case.

Meh, at the very least, I just want to know where Cysero originally said that, I've checked the forums and the DN's and found nothing to do with it. If you don't like my idea, just tell me this, and it can be locked.
