Well it depends which one, if it is locked, that means its over.
Most, to all contests require you to just post that's it on joining a contest.

You just follow the instructions in the first post,then post your own entry in the format listed in the first post.

However,there isn't a contest open right now,so you'll have to wait for the next one.

Just To Throw This In,

You First (Of Course) Have To Make A Entry Image For The Contest, Depending On The Type Of Contest It Is.
Second - Once The Image You Have Made Has Been Saved To Your Computer Upload It To A Picturing Saving Website, Such As Photobucket Or Imageshack.
Last - Click The Button On The Contest Entry Page, Press The Grey 'Link' Button, Copy And Paste Your Pictures URL (Once Done Click the 'OK' button), Add A Message About What The Image Is About, Then Click The 'OK' Button.
Also, Don't Forget To Make Sure Your Linkage Works.
