While I am aware that a general good tone is always expected here, I would like to hear how far I can go with mild swearing, such as "heck" or "crap", without getting an official warning?
I'm not saying that I'm going to do it, but it would be nice to know if I for some reason must swear to emphasis something.
(Oh, and the reason to why I chose those two, is that I've heard them on Reba, and the subtitles translated them into words that aren't even curses in Danish.)

 Generally speaking, the examples you gave above would be allowable. However, I do want to mention that it all depends on the context. If, for example, you're referring to another member with that language, it would be considered flaming. Please be aware of the difference.

Please also make sure not to abuse this lenience; just because those words are in most contexts acceptable doesn't mean they should be used in every post. Not that I believe you would, but I would like to mention it here. :)

Oh, I wouldn't say it to other players.
More as to emphasis the awesomeness of something, say, a release, as in: "Holy crap this release is awesome!".
Although I would keep away from religious sayings for as long as possible, since that could upset some Forumites.
And how about replacing swear words with "*"?
Is that allowed?

No, self censoring is not allowed (check the rules), it will be handled in the same way as not censoring = you would receive a warning!
