I just looked at some of my threads today, only to find out it was deleted, I understand that u guys need space for more important things, but is it possible to at least send a message telling us "We apoligies but we need more space for other threads, so we deleted yours, please understand." Or something like that. It's because I noticed you only tell people that their posts has been deleted when they did a violation. But then this is only a suggestion. So don't take it seriously.

Usually when threads are deleted you get a PM which includes a reason for which the thread was deleted. But sometimes Staff don't send such PM's if there are lots of similar threads which need to be deleted or any other reason, which I don't know of. My thread was once deleted and I got a PM a few minutes after saying why. So it could just be a coincidence.

And when it's space that comes in matter, I don't think threads are deleted in that way for space. I remember last year there was a Forum sweep and the forums were offline while older threads were deleted.

To add on to Silver Lions post, sometimes AKs or moderators are busy and cannot get around to sending you the PM right away. You could just ask the head Moderator of that part of the board, and they will usually find out why a post/thread was deleted. In different parts on the boards' rules, they say that if you make a thread about ___, it will be deleted because ______ without notice. If you have questions about posts/threads being deleted, confer with the head moderator of the specific part of the board, or another moderator of some place on the board, or an Administrator, or, the Head Administrator: Circe. I believe that is what has been said in the past.

And, you may also find a thread deleted if part of the board has a funtion that when it gets pushed off the 10th page of topics, it's deleted. This clears up the space issue. So, in cunclusion: If your thread is deleted, and you do not recive a PM, just PM an AK/Moderator asking why, and your issue should be solved! :)
