Things couldn't have been going any better for a certain Handyman right now; he wasn't being attacked by either of his opponents, which made him believe that his advances hadn't been noticed by them. This meant that his attack would likely go forward without a hitch, unlike most of his others during this long battle. If this attack could take care of that slippery shade and remove him from the equation, that would mean that he'd just be left with the minotaur to deal with, and that was a foe he felt could be handled rather easily from a distance. So really, all he had to do was make sure he was able to get a shot in at his original opponent and then move on with his performance in the Championships. Marcos said a brief prayer of thanks to the Energy Lord for giving him such a tough and worthy opponent to prove himself against and for allowing him to attain victory over the man, as was proper for the servant of an Elemental Lord. However, all of these thoughts flew to the four winds as he emerged from the small and already rapidly vanishing smoke cloud to find that his opponents had shifted considerably from the positions they were in before he entered the field of opaque air that had concealed both himself and his target. The one whom he had wanted to snare with his net of electricity was now almost completely out of range to easily attack with that kind of ability, the accursed talking cow blocking the way to him. This put a serious dent on the effectiveness of his current plan and would require some quick and precise adjustments to make sure what he'd prepared could still be used, albeit in a different manner. As he carefully restructured what he was going to do in his head and slowed his approach slightly, the two warriors in front of him continued to do battle. The minotaur's weapon appeared to be caught in a shield of shadows made by the shade in chainmail armor and he seemed to be having a great amount of trouble retrieving the weapon, even with his seemingly incredible strength. As he watched the minotaur give a strong pull on the hatchet, the Handyman narrowed his eyes and glanced at the shadowman. A careful observer in the stands would have noticed the ghost of a smile that appeared on the Handyman's face as he focused on his two opponents. He knew exactly how he was going to modify his plan and exactly what he was going to need to do it. With these modifications, the altered strategy might even exceed the original. If it worked, he'd kill two birds with one stone and have twice as many victories to offer up to his Lord. As he flowed towards the embattled pair, Marcos saw the minotaur let go of the axe and reach for his sides. He was clearly going to try and switch tactics, just like the Handyman had, and see if he could shift the momentum of the fight. Well, the momentum would be shifting, just not in the way that the hulking slab of beef thought it would. Marcos tilted the structure that he was holding in his hands and then removed his left hand from the lightning rod that it held, allowing the weapon to start to freefall. This released what could only be described as a wave of electricity that hurtled towards the minotaur as he was blocking the man in chainmail's reaping strike at his legs. Before the shock stick could fall too far though, the Handyman allowed a small amount of electricity to flow forth from the bottom of the rod in his right hand, catching one of the ends of its free-falling copy, reversing its polarity so that magnetism held the weapons together. Marcos spun the weapon around and grabbed the front with his left hand as he approached the minotaur, wincing at the pain in his side. He couldn't keep running like this for too much longer or he'd hurt himself worse. He'd have to worry about that later though; now he had a job to finish, one that had been a long time coming. As he reached the minotaur, the Handyman jabbed up with his electrified staff, aiming to brand this bull right on its unprotected neck with his glorified stun baton and cause it no end of pain. Marcos didn't enjoy this work, but it would be necessary if he wanted to win; he'd have to keep causing damage to the minotaur until he couldn't stand anymore. Then, he'd fall down and crush the competition, just like the clever Handyman planned.
