A frozen monster cannot attack, and has its Fire Resistance set to 200% (if the defence is usually higher, it does not get reset). Freezing usually lasts for one turn. A frozen monster turns blue and stops moving.
A monster cannot be frozen if its Ice Resistance is less than 100%, and/or if its base element is Ice. In addition, certain monsters have the effect of being immune to freezing.
Monsters receive a "saving throw" to resist freezing. This is equal to the monster's END * 0.25%.
0 END = 0% chance of resisting
50 END = 12.5% chance of resisting
100 END = 25% chance of resisting
200 END = 50% chance of resisting
