This is an idea that is in-use on the EpicDuel Forums and I feel that is should also be implemented here on the AE Forums aswell.

It's basically a little notice of all new post(s) that comes up when you press "OK". If there are no new posts before yours, then your post will be posted as usual. If there are new post(s), then the new post(s) will appear at the top of the text box that you type in to post a message.

How this is useful is that sometimes, you click "Post a Reply" and no one has posted yet. But say you take a bit longer than usual to type, or you had to find a link on a different website and someone has already posted something similar to what you were going to post. You wouldn't know that right now and then when it redirects you after you press "OK", you find out that 1+ people has already posted similar things. If there was a notice of the new posts before you, then you would know that someone already posted what you were going to post so you wouldn't have to. If you still want to post, you can just press "OK" again and it will post like normal, unless someone else posted, then the notice would come again with the new posts. This is more useful on question topics so you don't need to post the same answer 2+ times.

Now, if you didn't follow along with what I just said, I have some pics of this from the EDF:

Inconceivable!

I agree this feature would help immensely.

It would prevent multiple posts all saying the same thing which happens all the time in the Q&A boards here.

I agree too. But the coders can be really busy, so this would probably take some time for them to work something out.

The problem is that ED's forum and AE's forum are different at the base level. Also, the amount of forum coders is EXTREMELY limited to AE, so any major project requires a lot of time from said coders (who I also believe help code with other games, not sure).

It's a great idea, to be sure. The problem is, can it be implimented without eating up too much time/work effort?

I'd also like to note that I really do not think that this would have the desired effect, at least not on a large scale. In a lot of the Q&A forums, forumites have the ability to delete their own posts. Despite this, if they are "ninja'd", so to speak, many will not delete their posts but rather edit them and add "ninja'd" to the end. I'm not sure having a notice that pops up before posting would change this habit.
