Hmm how about Eternal Vanguard? Then some small level could be Sturdy Vanguard.

Argh I hate how this always informs everyone that I edited the post, all I did was add a dot to the end of my sentence.

Well, master mix, the naming has to be consistent. If so, then you're saying the format should be "Vanguard (noun)"? I'll have to pull out the dictionary/thesaurus on that one - I can't think of any good words off the top of my head. The "strongest" word should correspond to V43, no? I'll sleep on it (and fill up the other list, too).

 If you think about it, the current naming tradition with regard to metals fits the bill perfectly for a defensive mecha. Given the circumstances, I would say that having Adamantium as a name would be perfectly normal.

they are not going to name the level 43 ultimate vanguard its not that creative and kinda sounds stupid to me

the naming for the levels should also be consistent, and words like ultimate dont really have alot of words for the in between levels, i think this one should go by metal names, strong hard protective metals

adamant
mithril
titanium
steel
iron
cobalt
nickel
copper
aluminum

And no more "V24" or "V43"s
We should do:
Rusty Vanguard
Bronze Vanguard
Iron Vanguard
Aluminum Vanguard
Steel Vanguard
Mithril Vanguard
Adamantanium Vanguard
Platinum Vanguard
Or something like that

Edit: Switched out rune cause its not a metal

To be honest, I don't really care for the name. It could be named Sparkly Dancer Tiny Legs or Twinkle Toes the Trout Slapper and I'd probably still buy it if it was a good mecha.

Buuuuut if we do go with Vanguard and this is a defensive mech theeeen:

Stable Vanguard(Lower)
Tough Vanguard
Sturdy Vanguard
Resolute Vanguard
Tenacious Vanguard
Adamant Vanguard(Higher)

Sounds defensive, fair to all levels ("Weak" or "Unstable" doesn't seem right to describe a mecha for everyone), and works well with "Vanguard"

I want a mecha named Trout Slapper, that has to be the name of the next SCMM.

Edit: Oh and metals are boring, haven't we already done those MORE than once. Besides I just got a new one, Impregnable Vanguard that would be the 43lvl version.

metals are boring yes but they work, theres alot of them and you can easily make an order for them, though clydes suggestion is better

It is rather common for defensive SCMM to have those adjectives.

Yes, metals are common, and that is why they should not be used. We already have the Aegis AND the Falcon using those names, plus every other RPG (slight exaggeration) besides. I vote "Nay" on metals.

I would like to revise my list of names. Clyde, I do like your first three ideas, but "resolute", "tenacious", and "adamant" don't sit quite right with me. "Resolute" means "determined" more than "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" (Sorry, had to do it.) Being a wall undoubtedly requires determination, but that determination is not necessarily "defensive." "Tenacious" feels too aggressive, though its denotation is appropriate. "Adamant" is more of a "stubborn" to me than "defensive."

So here's what I got:
V2 -> Just plain ol' "Vanguard"
V10 -> "Stable Vanguard"
V16 -> "Tough Vanguard"
V20 -> "Sturdy Vanguard"
V24 -> "Braced Vanguard"
V28 -> "Reinforced Vanguard"
V33 -> "Fortified Vanguard"
V38 -> "Immovable Vanguard"
V43 -> "Impregnable Vanguard"

Feel free to contest. As a side note, I would LOVE a Trout Slapper. April Fool's Day mayhap?

EDIT: The epithet for V43 was switched to "impregnable" because "indomitable" has a more aggressive connotation.

demonblast, "impeccable" means "perfect." The "defensive" meaning is lost. "Invulnerable" is too much of a stretch, in my opinion. Unless it's got stacking Zorbo arms, shoulders, head and body, it won't be invincible.

Thats what Impregnable means, invincible/impenetrable. Which is why it perfectly fits the highest lvl version of a defensive mech.
