With the focus on Rares and also the ability to have the most powerful weapons in the game when they are released, does this make the traditional Stores in the game not valid anymore?

One unique element that is starting to show, with weapons of the same level, is that there are tiers. I do remember the level 30 weapons prior to frostbane, and since then, every release of lvl 30 weapons became more powerful then the previous releases of lvl 30 items. The trend is showing in lvl 31, 32, and even the lvl 30 rares have been buffed even more over their store counterparts.

What are your opinions?

Why should varium and non-varium players use the stores if they know, by being patient and saving their credits/varium, they will get their opportunity in getting the better weapons as a rare.

Do you have any ideas to bring real business back all those lonely NPCs that have so many items, but very little buyers at the high levels?

Example Below...
Standard Level 30 Lightning_Rod
Seasonal Rare Level 30 Cupid's Sorrow

Standard Level 31 Non Varium Overlord_Cannon
Seasonal Rare Level 31 Non Varium Backpackzooka

In regard to stats, I remember firmly on the Epic Duel forums, Sir Lazarus expressed his disapproval about the stats of Lightning Rod comparing to the newer Auxes.

I also purchased it as well, and it was one of my favorite auxes, because if it's color coordination, compact nature and string-line firing trail. I still have this Aux in my inventory, and I am hoping someday, it will be updated to more current standards.

Here is a very old photo of me when I was lvl 30, and this very nice Aux. This photo was taken the first day day when Valentine Rares were introduced in 2010.
I was actually amazed I captured the string line beam from this Aux.

At lower levels, I still see heaps of player crowding to these traditional stores that Hank and Xraal run. Mirv too.

At higher levels, most of the "Good Stuff" is not at the "Traditional Stores". I believe it's to give a more Barter-ish feel to things. Like a Concession stand where they offer things at different prices like haggling to get the best price.

My idea is to Perhaps have more NPC's sell the same things at the SAME price so that you don't feel like visiting only 1 guy for the same thing is the only option to get things at a cheap price. At least this way, you can buy stuff at Mirv's, Hank, or Snork without feeling you've been ripped off your credits because they would all offer the same things at the SAME price.

Interesting... I remember debating over whether I should have gotten Overlord Cannon, or Backpackzooka (the latter cost an extra 2,000 Credits, and I was dirt poor). I'm glad I got Backpackzooka

IMO, rares should only be 2 maximum stats stronger then normal weapons. I also thing swords should be 2 stats stronger then class weapons. So the difference between a level 32 non rare claw and a level 32 rare sword would be 4 stats stronger. A small advantage, but the main thing about rares is bragging rights and rare scores. In the current system, "normal" weapons are ignored cause they're just so WEAK. I think this game needs to cut back on rares and release competent normal non rare weapons that players can use to eternity.

Well the Zeuzooka and the Vendzooka are not too bad, but youre right about that. For example, the lvl 30 swords sold at Titan and Nightwraith Give 30 damage and only 10 stats, whereas Too Big! gives 16.

On a side note about the two Bazookas that are varium. Do take a peak at the prices. That is the major difference of two weapons' balance.

I think if each NPC from time to time, maybe have a power-up sale. Certain items will get a stat update to current standards.

As much as these Rares are special and unique, the history of Epic Duel is in their older weapons.

I am actually curious what were the first set of weapons available beyond the starter weapons.

i agree with the trend.

a big jump from level 29 weapons to level 30 weapons is huge. level 30 weapons are about 75% times stronger then a level 29 weapon. its consistent from 1-24 and the rest just kinda changes. like level 28 bazooka does (ghoul) does exponentially more damage then a level 30 bazooka varium. what i think they should have done for this is make a level 20 version and a level 31 version. solution to solve this is dont do it in the future. make the stats amount same but different placements. increasing it by 1 or 2 isnt bad but when its 6... its bad.
