The new maul gives connect as well so I'm guessing that there'll be less chance of survival against them.

Its 2%... its got a 1/50 chance of actually taking effect in a battle. Its the stats and requirements of the new maul that's dangerous.

ppl complained of 2 hit KO from STR mercs and admins Buff them , i realy cant understand :S. In my opinion Most mages cant win them and i can only win them when i block their stun or berserker.

AThey buff str Mercs, and at the same time give Bounty Hunters their 3rd neft in a row. Its getting ridiculous.

I hope BHs and TMs get SERIOUSLY good weapons soon. Though the energy claws are the perfect counter to those pesky mercs.

Ppl will start to complain more only solution is removing the passive req on Shadow art , ppl can think this will be a BH buff but its a STR merc nerf , most STR mercs will block and change build or class which will make BHs and Mage more comfort :)

and mages cant be good without 3 turn heal + removing agility thats the truth they can win BHs and Mercs but they will be slow and same rate with Str builds thats why im a BH ;)

the new sword is actully more of a threat even though they cant use maul they can still berzerker and with +7 connection it might be more annoying then the new club's

Naw because maul has that 20% defence ignore so they dont need to stun to still own.

Is the connection only for strike or is it for zerker and maul too? This must be answered before we all assume things

I PM'ed this to Nightwraith likewise if mages bludgeon, mercs double strike or berserker and hunters that cheap shot which applies the connect %.

Lets report every single one of them. I just fought one. I have 52 support and the guy has 47. So he goes first and maul crit me and it also stuns. This is bs.

quite simple to find a solution to, simply add a tech and/or sup requirement to both berserker AND mual, and make it harder for mercs to abuse str (just like BHs)

also, it is hard to not to get stunned when mual has a base chance of 40% chance of stun when maxed out, and 40% is almost equal to 1/2 chance of getting stunned

^Bezerker already has a dex requirement, it really shouldn't be changed since it is a Merc's most useless stat. Maul requires a club and is a tier 3 skill. I really don't think it needs a requirement.

Someone tell me if the % chance to hit applies to maul and berzerker. If it doesn't, there's no problem.

^No it dosen't apply to skills, only to regular strikes, as quoted from the Game Design Notes. Works like Azreal's Bane, where the bonus is only on regular strikes.

@Zachary99: That's not a fair comparison. Mages just aren't built for Strength builds. If you want to compare high damage builds, then it should be Strength Merc vs. Heavy Support Mage.

And the +Connect % really didn't have as big of an impact as I though it would be. I'm still blocking about 35% of the time when it comes to their skills which is the most important part of a Strength Merc. I never relied on blocking a strike to win vs. a Strength Merc. It was blocking their Maul or Berzerker that was the important part.

Ok I just tried 1v1 and won 80 battles. Lost 20 all thanks to fat stupid str mercs.

@Nebula: I remember it does have a dex requirement now, but how can you ever say that dex is a str merc's most useless stat? The only way to defeat str mercs, for mages, (thx to their oh so fitting cyber shaleigh) is either getting lucky with crits/deflects and/or blocking them, and tell me how a mage is able to block a merc when they 81 dex, however mercs with 63 dex (most common ones) r a bit stronger but the chances of you blocking them is a lot higher

the topic is :Str mercs, now more dangerous? they are not more dangerous , they are oped like before , 2 hit kills + if they block Maul or berserker , they still hit +40 :S . My HP is 125 than a STR merc will kill me in 3 hits (i dont want to mention atleast one of the Maul or berserker would hit)

@Eragon Because there are 0 skills on the Mercenary skill tree that improves with Dexterity. Mercs have Hybrid armour making it even more useless and, with a lot of their best skills being unblockable, blocking isn't that much of an issue for most merc builds. Besides, str merc is more of a luck-based build and even if you get blocked once or twice you do about 40 with every strike.
