okay im trying to make it show a image that is also a link but its not working

Hmm try removing the quote marks.

Scratch that try doing this

[url= http://www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?37005-fan-sb-amp-hj-DUEL/][img]http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh98/chesse20/adventure/banner.jpg [/img][/url]

You were missing "/" at the end of "DUEL" and an extra "]" before the end, remove the spaces and you get this:

Well, you should should copy the Image URL, then type this [image][/image], then put the URL between them.

just use this code to get what you want: 
[url=http://www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?37005-fan-sb-amp-hj-DUEL][image]http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh98/chesse20/adventure/banner.jpg[/image][/url]

should result in this:
