 Last time I let someone from this community see pictures of my real-life self, my physical appearance was insulted. And that was by someone I thought was a friend. So, sorry, I'm not willing to put myself out there to the entire community. Anyone who isn't in movie-star shape, especially a girl, is more than likely to be insulted based on their physical appearance. Not by the staff, obviously, but by those in the community who aren't mature enough to judge people for what they do instead of what they look like. They're definitely out there. And that is why restricting this to a video contest is so unfair.

Agreed, Griffen. I'm totally not one who would put my real self out there. I absolutly despise video contests.

 @IceCold - Except that we were told that those have basically no chance of winning. On top of which, I've got a horrible speaking voice. There are people out there who can't speak at all.

Its not that i'm shy (Im a sea cadet quartermaster, and im in my drama club. Drama festival tommorow!) but its just...putting myself into a video...being silly...thats going to be seen by the forums? No way. Not happening. The only way your going to know what I look like IRL is if the crazy thing of you meeting me in RL happens. And I doubt it will happen.

 This is a big thing. They're offering basically the biggest prize possible, an NPC in one of the games we love, and they're awarding it via character creation contest, but limiting it to a medium that not everyone can participate in comfortably, or at all.

I personaly would have preferred it if they did a different medium in each month. However, that may be unfair to those who already had their face on Youtube and did not originaly want to.

To be honest, I would not feel comfortable reveraling my face to the interwebz just yet. maybe one day...maybe... I could possibly make a villain with a mask, but who would trust a Masked Corperate Exceutive Of An Evil Company, even if that mask was a magic mask that could change itself depending on mood which I had as a slight plan to make my person more distinctive?

hate to be a broken record but there are clothing that cover not just face but bodie as well where somthing baggy or a robe but i do have to agree with you people can be immature but if u think hard there a way to hind your slef and everthing around you

i can think about maybe doing it in the dark with voice mechanism if u dont like your voice

you guys shouldnt really be intimidated by people who are immature. Everyone is beautiful in there on way.it doesnt matter if u big or small just live life and love it every second

I truly appreciate all of your efforts of making it seem comfortable and there is nothing to worry.

This might be inappropiate to say...But... In my eyes, you all need a reality check if you can go by saying everyone is beautiful in their way and there is nothing to worry about.
So far, i've experienced nothing like that in real life.

Honestly, I believe myself to be lucky...
I am like a twig (thin)...athletic...smart...
But I also don't like things about me...
Do I let them bring me down???
Sometimes...yes, but usually no...
Everyone who talks bad about me I avoid or make comebacks...
I use MY personal gifts to counteract what they do to TRY to make me feel bad...
And honestly, the people who make fun of you are looking for a reaction...and if they say "

"Look at that fatty!!!" or something like that, you say:
"You know. I AM on the heavy side, but you know...I'm ok with that and you can't make me feel any less!"

And THAT should get them off of you.

 @Charries - One, out of how many existing superheroes? Hundreds? Thousands?

@mrbk - Those are street clothes. Is his costume in the wash?

Starfall has more of a classic superhero spandex look. Which I could never pull off.

@GriffinFire: My point was just to illustrate that they exist and i'm pretty sure what AE are looking for is originality and creativity, do you think someone dressed as Superman or Batman is going to win? I don't think so. Plus remember that you're not the one who gonna end up drawing the hero/villain so stop getting so wound up about it.

 @Charries - And my point was that there are extremely few of them, not that they don't exist at all. Going for a classic spandex costume is not the same as copying an existing superhero. The winning NPCs will be based on the winners' character designs. And yes, I will be drawing my superhero.

So can we like wear anything we want as a costume like this? Frylock costume, Ghost Rider mask, etc. and then when I take it off to show my dark side soemthing like this? Leather Jacket, Sepulchure shirt, black jeans, black heavy skechers shoes, and like two lightsabers?

*Note* Not the kiddish cheap sabers but the sabers in the hundreds range!

I think that aside from having already existing characters as part of your costume like Spiderman or Superman, you are all set.
