I don't understand, when focus gave a buff to damage you did, I really only saw mercs going 5-focus for tank builds, but now since the extra damage from focus has been taken away I see so many more people doing it. But why? It is a nerfed build, why not try more daring, and ultimately more damaging builds.

Questions, comments, concerns?

 Comparatively speaking, the damage that Gamma Bots do now with a 5 Focus build is extraordinary for two reasons: it requires 0 energy and 0 investment in Strength. I have 98 Strength, which is a large investment considering it only affects one stat (i.e., damage). However, with a 5 Focus build and Bot, not only do you get an average of four attacks per match that have the attack power of a strength build, but you get super high defense and resistance. Couple that with not needing to invest stats in energy ...well, there's your reason these builds are more prevalent now.

Because a 5 Focus Bot attack with nice Stat Modifiers to Tech will warrant insane damage.

Without Bonus dmg it still too strong , That why admins removed bonus dmg with bonus it was oped , for me it still oped ppl only do 45 stats and win No strategy No build :S

I don't like using 5 focus merc builds, I get blocked too much.

Constructive!


 5 focus, though effective, it compromises two areas. One is Energy Manna, and also Health. Difficult to beat, but the challenge is most enjoyable.

If where to choose a class and build when facing a 5 focus merc I would co with bounty hunters poison emp grenade build and destroy them

The trick is to keep their hp high enough they wont heal but also get it low enough that rage can kill them. Works for me 95% of my battles(They never see the 50+ multi coming till its too late ).

Stupid Builds are all +5 focus and very competitive because of the excellent mixture of Gamma Bot damage, low energy use and enhanced skills such as smoke screen, EMP grenade field medic and reflex boost. When you use your energy its extremely well used. With the use of boosters these builds become even more problematic to beat. More stats helped this type of build, at least for BHs.

Merc focus builds are ez to beat. I just beat one with my caster xD Acap Jockerz was the name

well of course you did, because when a merc does it, it means he has no assault bot to debuff himself, so gamma vomit and plasma do more than normal damage

My build is a 5 Focus (and i am a mage) and i enhance all my points in dex. I use a lv 7 Technician so i have about 110 tech, and then i use gamma bot to del 32+30 damage and a plasma bolt doing 72... and i win more than 90 % of the time. My build were alot better with the 5 extra damage, but its still good.
And besides they have also nerfed any stats over 50, which also means that people would avoid doing so with too many stats

Robot build is fine now, I even think it's still too powerful (well...with my quick build)

@above: Of course it is, main problem is that all your weapons wont receive an extra damage from focus.

@PumKing: first George Carlin reference ive ever seen.

I still use 5 focus on my BH, and I only have assault bot. Soon as I try other builds I see huge weaknesses that are too frustrating.
Id rather use my trusted build and know exactly what Im getting against all opponents. unexciting to a degree but no nerd rage.
