Just a thought on this Varium and Non-Varium thing.

Swap places with Titan and Nightwraith in your mind.
OK. Are you there?

Right, here we go.
You invent design a game. To run it you need cash/money. You also cannot do it ALL on your own. You need a bit more cash/money to employ someone to help. You also need cash/money for you to be able to pay your personal bills.
So..... The game is up and running, people are buying into it. All good.
You allow free players also. It expands the game population and creates a varied community. (As in the real world)

Now.... You need to keep the cash/money coming in. Bill still need to be paid.
You join another gaming company.
You rely on word of mouth, advertising and new players. Some of the free players will also start to buy Varium. Either because they wanted to try before they paid, they did the offers for free points for Varium or may be they were lucky enough to have spare money.

This is all down to choice here.IMO.

Back into your own mind now as a player.
Carry on playing for free (sort of like a trial) but do not expect to have the same advantage as the paying players.
Buy Varium for the above reasons. Or stop.

That is my view on this. So if you disagree please do not flame. And you are only disagreeing with ME.

IF they treat non variums good non variums will turn into variums. if they do not at least this games rep would increase because i would certainly share a game which is kind to F2P with all of my friends. If my friends like the game they might buy varium and if they dont want to buy they would most certainly tell thier friends taht this game is kind to F2P and the cycle continues and more and more player would play this game. but is that happening now NO. the devs are to MONEY MINDED has there been a good non varium release. hell no it has been ages since there was a great non var realease. all i see are varium armor varium this varium that. VArium varium varium. who would want to tell their friend hey i m playing a game which cool it need u need like $50 to win like mad. the heck $50 might not even be enuf. so would u like to play it? i m suer your friend would say NO. This makes the game goes nowhere. locking server that makes things worse imagine i m a first time player of ed but i have played other mmorpg games seeing servers being locked woul certainly make me not want to play cause 2 things pop into my mind. 1) why the hell are the servers locked 2) should i be playing this game cause it seem like the creater are being cheap by locking the servers.

Luna, you seriously need to grow up and realise that no game can run off free players. Of course they will make it so varium players will have a huge advantage, why? Because then they'll buy Varium. And varium=money and money=running the server, paying employees ect.

Sorry, but as a free player you can't demand to be on pair as a varium player. It would make less people pay for varium, less profit. No game for you. Do you want EpicDuel to die out? I certantly hope not.

They're not money minded in any way. Do you realise they need to pay for their families too? Just like your parents are working to earn money so that they can keep your house, electricity, food ect. They don't make everything over priced because they have to buy jacuzzies and fly with jets. They're doing so to provide food on the table. End of the line, stop this non var vs var crap.

It's extremely unnecessary.

Deathangel, I hope you realize that even though they don't pay, the F2P are indeed important. There a few ways of thinking about this:
a) Without them the game would only have somewhere around 500 active players.
b) As a varium player, no one wants to play varium players all the time, it would be completely pointless to pay if everyone paid for awesome stuff, you just hit deadlock.
Whether you like it or not they're important, and this goes to everyone.

hahaha asking me to grow up i m just stating the fact btw i have an alt with varium. TAKE the my challenge. i challange u to play as a F2P with F2p weps and no robot and no enhancements too for 1 whole week. try it and tell me are the f2ps being treated fairly. i m not asking for uber weps uber robot uber this uber that. all i m just asking is to be treated fairly as a non varium.treated fairly means giving us a chance to do well instead of treating us like useless players. enhancements are did not help non variums at all because of stat inflation varium player can have 110 support/str/tec/dex and still have 4 focus. wat can a non var do we do not have anything much no realeases which are useful for us. Y not just make this game into P2P insteda of F2P. IF the devs are just gonna treat us like crap no future players would want to even buy varium because this game is not worth wasting real life money on because weps get outdated fast new strong weps keep on coming out and people in this game just cant stop copying. The game need money yeah but they way they are treating non varium hell even variums the game is not going anywhere because 1) updates start to stink 2) look even the varium sell back is like wth uber low 3) varium updates stink 4) nothing for non variums. crappy updates = lesser money. think bout that and IMO aqworld is much friendlier to its F2p.

DillBagel, where in my entire post did I state that Non var's are not importnant at all? And to be honest, i'd much rather meet an varium player than a free player. Mostly because varium players makes up for a better challenge, but i've seen very few non var players who has managed to give varium players a challenge. And I truly salute such people.

My point with my last post was: To tell Luna that, if non var was on pair with var, why even bother buying varium? But without varium there would be no money, so of course they have to make the best items excluesively for varium players. No money, no EpicDuel.
And of course the non var players makes up for most of the EpicDuel community in-game. They make it more likely to even get a duel.

Ok first of all we do not want to be on the same line as the paying players what we want is fairness. We dont want to able to be killed in 2 turns by a varium beast and get level 27s vs level 32s(Variums) all the time. Dont just say buy varium or stop. Not everyone is rich and wealthy like you. So no where not gonna stop until we get fairness. You obviously want to pwn every non varium player. Also Luna I agree with you.

I triple double dog dare you to play as a non varium for a whole month and see if you change your mind. You only see by a varium players point of view. Your just another person who has the money to buy every new varium 50$ update. You just want non variums to stay as pathetic useless players who cant even stand a chance. They are money minded there greedy. Every update is a 50$ varium update from hundreds of players the devs have earned thousands they have enough they need to stop being greedy. I cant recall not once was a nice good non varium update,the last one was the reduced enhancement credit prices and the robot armor(Which sucked terribly). So only post please if you have something useful to say.

You missed a little of what I said.

What I actually said was the choices that I see are available

The second part I have highlighted was the part about being rich. You do not know my circumstances, so therefore are not qualified to say this. I will just state. I am not rich. I save for whatever I want and have the right to spend my money where I want.

The 3rd part about me and non-varium players.
I will answer quite simply. NO I do not. And once again you have assumed you know what I am thinking.

1st: No, I won't dedicate a whole month to just prove a point. I do see how non varium players has a huge disadvantage, I don't need to experience it myself to figure that much out.

2nd: I am another person who can afford paying for 50$ varium packages each update? Who do you think I am? The son of Bill Gates? Because I spend money on a game, support the game. I am now the bad person who doesn't care about anyone else? How does that even make sense? Anyways, I most certantly do not want to fight "pathetic useless players who can't even stand a chance". That would defeat the purpose of EPICduel, it's suposed to be epic, not a free win.

3rd: It's just sad to see how anyone in their right mind, can say "they are money minded, greedy people because they try to earn money for their game and provide food to the table." Because I don't see how that is being greedy nor money minded in any way possible.

4th: Yeah, non varium could definently need alot more items than they already do. I saw this thread a week ago or so, suggesting alot of varium weapons which should be made into non var weapons because of a lack of people using those weapons anyways. I think that is exactly what non varium players need.

5th: Don't post if I don't got anything useful to post? So according to you, anyone who doesn't agree with you has nothing useful to say. Alright, if that's the way you want it.

lolz. MR RKC. This is about balance. balance between non varium and variums. Non varium are being treated badly these past updates and most top non var players are thinking of turning into variums or just plain quitting this game because IMO this game is treating non variums badly. just try being a non var without enhancements and robot i m sure u would get kicked around by almost every player u fight. is this balance. hell no. non varium being treated badly = not a balance game.

again im saying i DO NOT WANT A UBER WEP,GUN,ROBOT or wat so ever. ALL i want is for us non variums to be treated fairly. being treated fairly does not = to asking for weps. And also pls read dill post. treated faily can mean giving non varium a credit boost, buff some weps and give us a so called weaker verson of the varium stuff. varium stuff should never be = to non varium stuff. all i m asking is fairness if the devs make a +38 zooka the non var should at least get a +36 zooka. if the devs make a +9 resis/def armor they should atleast make a +7 resis/def armor for non variums.

i understand n-vars are uped but you have to accept the fact that us varium players are paying to keep the game running.
you should be happy with the fact you get to play because if it werent for vars you wouldnt be playing.
but i will say it again you guys do need some sort of buff because we always take you down.
maybe a few new nv weps with sweet damage and stat modifiers.
anyways like i said im not picking sides i just stated each sides arguments and my solutions so please dont flame me... -.-

we r so under powered that even new player want to quit or turn into variums. so basically the devs are slowly FORCING us to turn into varium players. by not making any update which is worth it for a non varium player. or players which have gotten varium but ran out of varium. the devs are making the ed community slowly addicted to varium.

They are not forcing you in anyway possible because if they was they would be making you pay every month but you have the choice to be F2P so in anyway the devs are not forcing you.

Anyone with a smart business sense and a game or company to run would do the same thing.

I have a non varium account..low lvl but i'm working on it. your correct it's alot more difficult then my mage who i have spent a massive amount of money on..

when they treat non variums like they have been (good or bad) it pushes them to buy varium..and makes them more money.. It's not bad for a business to make more money..that's their job i guess.

I think everything the OP discussed has been discussed in my enormous post on the subject of Varium vs. Non-Varium. Since it's impossible to have a topic like this without flaming, and the dead horse has been beaten to a pulp, so Imma lock it.

Also, keep in mind that with recent releases, it's now possible for all players to earn double credits during power hour as well as credit bonuses from quests. Plus, with Varium sellback, it's even possible to turn certain arcade prizes into a tidy sum of Varium. Rest assured, there will be even more free ways to earn credits and premium items in future releases.
